Finally! a set started last year will get new faces. Friends, Sometimes we start sets intending to build them but get pulled to something else that is easier, less expensive, or faster. So the set just sits there month after month letting you know you have changed your sites. Well my proof silver eagles I purchased last year was a start that actually went nowhere as there were not many good offers for sale but other sets that surely fit the budget. B E W A R E again...

Want to hit a homer, go play for the Yankees Yup, got it again, the sumpthin' for nuttin' disease. Or we could call it, the "if its too good to be true, it probably is." FINALLY... Complete Set of Lincoln Wheats in Mint State (minus the 1922 No D strong Rev...)

Completing Lincoln Wheats in Mint State, a long road finished!!!! I've finally accomplished one goal, I was able to complete a Mint Set of Lincoln Wheats. What's funny about it is that the Key Dates were actually much easier to obtain, for a significant price, than some of the more common dates, specifically the 1920's San Francisco Mints. 100 Greatest U.S. Modern Coins

The cat is out of the bag now. I noticed the registry set for the 100 Greatest U.S. Modern Coins about two weeks ago, and was quietly building my set all alone as the only registered set in the category. I already owned a few of the coins on the list, as they intrigued me, so it was fun starting with a few slots already knocked out. RE: My 2011 Proof SAEs are not authentic

Great customer service from the U.S. Mint Hi everybody, Here is the follow up to the problem with my SAEs. I called the Mint customer service today and was expecting a BS answer like "return your coins and we will replace them" but that was far from the what happened. A rare coin

A pattern beauty with a mintage of 500 coins I have been scouring auction sites and the BAY for the past 3-4 months looking for the perfect example of the 1950 Monaco design for my horse-themed set. This design is absolutely beautiful, and features a highly detailed horse on rider on the reverse. My 2011 Proof SAEs are not authentic!!

or maybe the U.S. Mint needs to do a better job on quality control! Hello collectors, I received my 3 proof SAEs today and to my surprise, 2 of them did not come with the Certificate of Authenticity. So I guess those 2 must of been farmed out to China for minting. Anyways, did anybody else come up a bit short with their SAE order from the Mint?...and if you did, what did you do to fix the problem? I will be giving customer service a call and see if anything can be done to fix this little

A couple new additions

The absolute stress of auctions and coming up with the bids (to win that is!!!) Good Evening All, I have not been looking around much for any dimes lately. I have several on layaway and need to complete prior commitments first! I have a Mr. Wantlist from Teletrade and they sent me the new listings and there were 2 dimes I wanted for my 46-64 set. But, OH how I hate to wait. In a recent post I lamented the fact that I lost a great coin at auction recently. Wouldn't you know it the seller, who is prolific at moderns, posted another. I placed the same bid, didn't learn from the first auction, and once again was sniped in the last 10 seconds of the auction for one bid increment of $2.50... The good news, you might ask. wheat or any copper coins grading

clean or not clean not only it's hard too grade coins but more and more i have too deal with coins that are clean or altered. i think im goin to stop buying coins that are not graded, just look on EBAY and you see the number of wheat with no grade just with defination like improperly clean etc... so i have couple questions 1) how do you tell coins as been clean? any books in the matter? 2) do you think coins with just defination label should be accepted in any registry sets? 15 out of 16 vanish off my TeleTrade Tracking List

What are the odds of that? I had 16 Lincoln Memorials that I was tracking on TeleTrade tonight and before the auction is even 4 hours old, Poof, gone and vanish go 15 of them. I know they have the right to set reserves on coins and I have no problem with that, but "Wow" what are the odds of that? July 10, 2011 Getting Used to NGS

Another thing to figure out! I am sure I will get the hang of it. I am currently doing my best to add a coin to my registry. I guess that's what you call it....or maybe it is my collection. Anyway, I am trying to add a coin to something. There were 2 other coins in there that I added another day, but I somehow I managed to wipe them out. Back to the beginning. Now I have one coin again. I am very happy I have it entered. Maybe I won't lose it!

A curious coin

1954 Toned Quarter I know it's not a particularly rare quarter, and the grade is not hard to find, but something about this little coin just drew me in. Firstly, I had recently read the very interesting full thread on the Chat Boards regarding the history of the different types of NGC Slabs and labels. Five New Coins That Didn?t Kill the Budget

Buying coins when the money isn?t there. I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. Around here the 4th of July means getting everything ready for our big BBQ bash. Long waiting....need to be patient

It is a long journey for coin submition outside US. First it take about 2 weeks to get the coin shipped to NGC/NCS from my country (The bottleneck is US custom, some time it will hold the package for 1 week). Secondly, it is ngc/ncs itself. it take 1-2 days for my order to show up. But unfortunately, this time, the number of coin shown in the web site is not correctly (which is less than the number of coin i submitted). Already drop them a message about this, hope they will soon correct it.
