An old cent isn't what I thought. Like many of us, I collected coins as a kid, and stopped when it was time to go to college. Early in my second decade I spent a lot of time at a local bank searching for wheaties in rolls. Among those I found were a couple 1954-D examples that looked a little funny. 30th Anniversary Silver Eagle Set!

7 coin set- 75,000 to be minted This is a snarky post. Well, I guess right now I'm looking forward to the 30th Anniversary Set. My guess is a 7 coin set since the 20th was 3 coins and the 25th, 5 coins. I can only guess they will make it impossible for regular collectors to buy them so they'll just make 75,000 sets. First Day Issue Presidential Dollar set

All will go!! I made a decision last night and felt the same way this morning. I been collecting the Presidential dollars since the start in 2007. It gets to be a lot to have a FDI set, a Business set, a SMS set and a proof set. I have stopped the SMS set about two years ago. Running Out of Slots to Upgrade

my Walker Short Set odyssey is nearing its end...... It is so nice to finally be past my "post binge stupor." The last I wrote a journal, I had overdone it at a recent auction and my coin budget has been depleted for about a month. Fortunately I didn't spy any "can't pass up" hole fillers or upgrades during the past month. Actually, the number of slots that have any hope of upgrading in my Walker Short Set is running out. Want To File A Complaint Pertaining To The ASE 25th Order Process The Number is...

If you want to know if you order is on the wait list and the number to file a complaint read below. For those who do not know if their orders are on a wait list or not here is the answer. If you order was taken after 5pm then you are on the wait list. I just confirmed this with a order taker at the US Mint web site. Will I still be a Silver Eagle Collector?

Probably depends on if my 25th Anniversary Set comes or not. I agree with the sentiments about the ordering process. IMO, the Mint should sell a set to each order from a different address, once they are all filled, then the multiples can be shipped. But I expect if I don't get my set from the Mint that I'll be done collecting graded Silver Eagles. I don't think I will be interested in paying the already graded prices. 2011 SAE 25th anniversary mintage of 100,000 was fair in my opinion !

Rareity is also the key I know alot of collectors were frustrated with the overwhelming busy signals and the mint website crashing. You have to understand when thousands of ppl are trying to call at the same time, it will be luck of the draw! Same thing goes for the mint website. It took me hitting redial over and over for over 2 and a half hours straight before I got in. It was frustrating . I know the mintage may seem low to most ppl, but shouldnt there be a few rare coins to make the hobby

Just got off the phone with the Mint and more

Says one thing means another Greetings all speed dialers; Went to check the status of my order today and the status said it was on hold which was explained earlier in a journal. (all orders are placed on hold) then looking at the bottom it stated backordered, expected ship date 11/11/2011. How can I describe yesterday? All across America, collectors everywhere are getting up with less hair on their heads. Greetings all, often I find humor very helpful in coping with disappointments and frustrations. A good night's sleep also helps to let clearer heads prevail, and with that comes my "two cent" assessment of yesterday's debacle. What was the Mint thinking??? How did they not see this coming? Anyone else having a problem with the Mint's website? I logged in on the Mint's website at 11:55 and tried to place an order for the 25th Anniversary SAE sets at 12:02. I Hope, I Hope, I Hope? I just got my order in at 3:50 MST, I just order one set which I hope I receive shorty after nov 11 2011, the shipping date. I receive my cofirmation number. Where did they go? In this world today there seems to have been a loss of ethics and morals. I know I'll catch you know what for writing this but who cares! Everyone especially on this site and in coin collecting knows how many people wanted those 25th Anniversary sets. The Mint put a limit of (5) yes five, cinco on those sets. Opening(and Closing?) Day for the 25th Anniversary Sets

Just like the 2006 20th Anniv Sets, "Gone in the blink of an eye!" I've recommended to readers at times in my posts about the 1st Day of Issue problem with New Coins & Sets. The Mint always gets bogged down and their system just plain "Crashes" at the opening of a "Hot Item". It's happened time, and time again. 25th anniversary SOLD OUT !!! Less than 6 hours !!!!!

It was hell !!! I got in about noon with 5 ppl constantly calling for me. I will get my 5 sets. Even the mint website couldnt handle the volume. The price is now seriously climbing on ebay. 2011, the year my daughter was born So 2011 is the year my daughter was born. I had been trying to get on the mint site catalogue since noon and have been unsuccessful. Last day of collecting

Today might be that day I am so fed up with the policies of the Mint and NGC that today might be my last day of collecting U.S. COINS. I have been at quick check-out at the mint for over an hour. I didn't get greedy, I only placed an order for two sets. Keep one, sell the other to help pay for grading costs. Between the Mint not producing enough coins to meet collector demand, not placing a limit of one per address, and NGC having already announced they are doing an early release just to force
