Latest Update - Langbord Hoard of St. Gaudens Double Eagles

Are we closer to some kind of resolution and final disposition? I read an article from Coin World today concerning the latest (and final?) judicial proceeding concerning the Langbord Hoard. Decision was made on 10 November that basically affirms the jury decision from 20 July after considering additional information from both the government and the Langbords. Great News Today From the Mint For Me

to be shipped on 11/28/11 I got my third email from the US Mint since that strange day that the ASE 25th Anniversary sets went on sale. The first email was the same day and simply stated that my order had been placed and I was on a waiting list/ backordered. Several days ago I got a second email from the mint which sent my hopes tumbling. In a nutshell the notice simply said that I had not been dropped from the list and would receive my 2 sets if there were any cancellations. Although others

10th Anniversary Platinum sets

Anyone who is in the 10th Anniversary Registry (CHECK YOUR SET ASAP) Rev proof is missing from set! Today I notice I wasn't first ranked in 10th anniversary platinum set. So looked in to it and I noticed that the Rev proof was missing. Don't worry everyone, all you have to do is click on "EDIT SET" then on the right hand side of the Rev proof slot you will see a blue box saying "1 avail.coin" click on it then click on "cert#" you will see the coin added to slot, then click on "save" at the

Which coin will become the most sought after in the 2011 25th Anniversary set? S or Plain?

The SAE S mint mark Silver American Eagle will have a total mintage of roughly 100,000 coins, But one of the coins in the set has a population of only 8% with a grade of 70. It's mot the W mint mark. Ok so we know that two of the coins are very special in the 25th anniversary eagle set. THe Reverse proof and the Mint State with the S mint mark. 25th Anniversary sets Has anyone been following the turmoil on Ebay with the 25th sets? It's remarkable. How about one company who put up a full ms69 and ms70 set, when lots of people signed up to be notified when they were going on sale. This is what I have heard anyway. What do you all think? Today's tale of the 2009 UHR Some of you may have noticed that the 2009 Gold $20 Ultra High Relief coin has been removed from the American Eagle set(s). I contacted NGC to ask why. (It's because the coin is not an American Eagle.) Anyway, a new gold bullion set has been created, thanks to quick action by NGC's Jerica Garcia. Why Don't/Can't/Won't Listen to Instructions?!

I got THE PHONE CALL, with information I did not want to hear about the 25th Anniversary Sets. With heightened anticipation of the 25th anniversary coins from the Mint to be delivered this week, I researched the instructions for submitting the coins to NGC. I printed out the instructions for Submitting the sets to NGC. I verbaly told him "DO NOT OPEN THE BOX FROM THE US MINT, BECAUE WE HAVE TO END IT SEALED LIKE THE 2006 SETS." What's wrong with the 2011(w) silver eagle?? Just wondering....Does anybody knows why is NGC not adding the 2011(W)struck at the West Point Mint silver eagle, since they have the 2011(s)struck at the San Fransico mint added on that set! A "Holy Grail" for the American Silver Eagle enthusiast. The 2011 is the "Silver Anniversary", the 2011 5-pc 25th Anniversary Set of Silver Eagles were issued to commemorate this. Imagine My Excitement A few months ago I decided to invest a small amount of my income in precious metals. I am a SAE collector, I knew about the SAE release and I was very patient and got my order in at 12:22. The best news is my order shipped TODAY 11-9-11. If you were lucky enough to get a set remember don't open the "cardboard box", or you wont be able to get them graded with the special 25th anniversary label.
