Bank Wrapped from $500 boxes
I have noticed there are a few sellers on Ebay offering $10 half dollar rolls unsearched. Talk about a questionable way to search for 40% silver Kennedys and 90% silver halves. First, just about anyone with a bank connection can buy a few rolls for face value of the rolls. Banks, by law, can not make a profit, some though charge so much a roll to cover their expenses. Second, Silver weighs more than straight clad coins. Even though dealers are stating "unsearch
25th Anniversay Set
My Mint status just changed to:
25TH ANNIVERSARY AE 5 COIN SILVER SET 1 $299.95 $299.95 In stock and reserved
Mine was orderd at 2:51CST
On a side note, I noticed that is not a single 25th Anniversary Set on Ebay now. Did Ebay removed all of them? or did all them sell?
ummm.
Sorry, I know we are trying to move on from this!

For those of us that are just plain worn out by the SAE 25th Anniversary story.
I was reading Coin World and ran across an interesting article about a pair of lead die trials that have recently come to light from the estate of Cyrus Dallin, the coin's designer. These die trials were unknown to the numismatic community for over 90 years. Mr. Dallin was a colleague of St. Gaudens and did his work during the golden age of U.S. coin design. Here is a link to the article:

helps make up for the disappointment last week
i was soo upset last week about the fiasco with the 25th Anniversary ASE sets. i didnt end up getting my set for my baby girl... AT least i received my new addition to my Morgan dollar date set, "NIcks's San Fran Cuties."
I won it off ebay, for way less than FMV.
Check it out: 1887-S NGC MS63
This helped ease the sting a little bit from last week

last ones?
Well I have added five holders to my ms69 and ms70 collection. And yes for my beloved critic, whom I am sure will make a remark, I stated which one is my favorite label.
Being a disabled veteran, I sincerely love my flag and everything about it, so comment away my good and spirited one. I also think that this is probably that last aditions I have, unless I am lucky enough to get a 25th anniversary holder from the 5 coin set. It looks like the scalpers have the market, but maybe
For insurance purposes
Does anyone know if you can print out your set listings as a spreadsheet? I want to insure my coins and this would be a great listing to provide to my insurance company. I would really rather not have to create my own spreadsheet. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Tired of hearing about these sets
First and foremost, I do not collect ASE's and probably never will as I don't have an interest in them. I am just tired of hearing people complain about this set, ok the mintage was somewhat low, limit per customer seemed a bit high for its mintage, price was fair (mint price)and the secondary market prices are in the clouds.
Even myself, a non-collector of these coins, feel that the limit the mint placed for orders were a bit high. But that is my opinion
Come'on man
Look, if you think that the mint should have made 250,000 sets then ?get over it? The mint produced 100,000. Why, you ask to keep the buzz going. Keep the supply low! The American Eagle Silver coins are 25 years old. I think the American Eagles will go no longer than 35 years. We have no control over the mintage of any coin the mint makes. The mint is making a ton of money off this one coin group. $2.00 for every MS coin and 12 to 15 bucks on the Proof and Burnished coins look at t
An outsider's point of view
First, I do not currently collect SAE's so I did not have a "horse in the race" for last week's debacle.
Second, I just read the journal written by DennyJW. His letter from the mint states that they are working to review the process for future orders.
It seems to me that the mint would want to cater to its long term customers. The speculators will be out of the picture when the economy improves and the price of silver goes back down. The true collectors will
Now there is error labels and this one takes the cake
This was so good I just had to share it.
While checking out E-Bay tonight I found this listing
item number: 320783861177
I wrote the seller and asked:
the certification on the slab says 1950, the date on the coin says 1959
whats up ?
His response was this:
this coin was slabbed by PCI as a 1950 (an error on their part). Such an occurrence is rare and makes it more collectable and more valuable. The 1959 is valuable in it's
Not a bad week
Hello collectors
This week I was able to pick up another Eagle for my 69 set with all that has been written about the 2011 on that coin set and probably beening pricey it may take awhile, but I will just have to see what happens. anyway I also pick up a couple proof sets from 1959 and 1962 I working on getting some Franklin Halves, and see how far I can get they wont be graded but I will pick the best I can find. I use to have a full set but sold them now I am intrested again so
New system Sell Out in 3 mins
In my opinion there was no problem with the way the United State Mint sold the 2011 American Eagle 25th Anniversary Set. Every coin collector and coin store in America was calling the US Mints call center at the same time. I worked for 3 and half hours before my order was taken. I have been in line at a ticketmaster line for tickets to find that the show was sold out in 3 minutes. So if the US Mint updates the order management system then the only thing will chang
But still very late!
Well I bought some milk and mint chip ice cream today and received 3 very shiny quarters in change. As is my habit, I flipped them over and saw 3 beautiful Gettysburg quarters. These are the first I've seen in circulation, in fact these are the first 2011 quarters I have seen outside of mint sets. Seems like change barely ciculates any more. I put it in my Whitman album. It joins 3 quarters from 2010. I guess I will need to get some quarter rolls from the bank and find th
Dear United States Mint Customer:
Dear United States Mint Customer:
We are fully aware of the difficulties many customers encountered last week with the release of the American Eagle 25th Anniversary Set. We would like you to know that we have undertaken an aggressive review of how we brought the product to market so we can better serve all of our customers in the future. Peterson, the Deputy Director of the United States Mint, has also directed that the bureau review all future produc
Appreciator of coins
No I am not offended. When I can buy a NGC ms69 2011 silver eagle on a Monday and sell it for 2 1/2 times what I paid for it the next week to help fund my goal, that is not true collecting I guess. I look at my endeavor like when I was small and had all the blue trifold books to collect pennies nickels dimes etc, when you found one you were excited, no different here. Actually when I do finally accomplish my task and I have maybe 8 to 12 labels that are rare or hard to
Confused to say the least
Just when I thought I was within sight of accomplishing my goal of collecting a complete set of 2011 Silver Eagle holders with different labels and different eagles in ms70, I find out that the Mint is issuing 3 labels for coins from the 5 coins anniversary set.
This means if I understand it right and the kind lady at NGC explains it there are three coins, the "W" "S" and "bullion" coin to get the pedigreed label. Thats fine, except they can also come with the earl

Friends,
I finally got around to membership renewal--Elite of coarse. I ordered my mylar flips from Wizard Suply, first 2" and then I called the next day and they fixed the order to 2 1/2" for me. Well I got the flips today so there will be a sweet submission of "MORGANS" heading out soon. I did order 100 flips so that should keep me busy for a little while.
I have decided to venture back into the Morgans and also do some Walker Halfs so I may

This month?s coin of the month comes from Austria and is part of my ?Inspiration Ladies? custom set.
The coin I am featuring this month is widely considered as one of the most beautiful coins in the world. The obverse features a bust of Emperor Franz Joseph 1st and commemorates the 60th anniversary of his reign over the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The reverse design often referred to as ?The Lady in the Clouds? is a representation of Klymene, the Titan goddess of ?Fame."
