Popular Post Coinbuf
Thanks for the complement @Lem E I like to find those zinc Lincolns when I can; not sure if I'll ever fill in all those empty slots but maybe one day. And wowzah those new Jefferson's of yours are some serious eye candy. That 50-D is quite stunning and I'm not usually a toning fan. Lem E
Thanks. The 50D has more rainbow around the rim than these pics show. These make it look mostly orange. The 61Dis a full step coin. It has 1 big full step. I want to say they refer to those as “ramp” coins. Popular Post GBrad
Here's my latest 1883 Morgan (a CC). This is #3 out of 4 to round out my very first ever year set (wooohooo , I'm pretty excited (good luck on an S mint though 🙄....). I do need some help/advice on this one please and if I need to post it in the Newbie section please just tell me to do so. You can see there are two decent and noticeable contact marks, one on the nose and one on the chin. I'm just wondering if this would straight grade or not. Your replies and comments are gladly and greatly appreciated. Thanks! Popular Post Coinbuf
I do not think those hits would preclude the coin from getting a straight grade, however they are in a prime focal area and your eye is drawn to them. I grade the coin as MS63, might get the "CC" grade bump to MS64; without those hits it would be a solid all day MS64. Popular Post GBrad
Hey @Lem E.... this Nickel of yours is the Sheot!!! I absolutely love it's beauty and the toning. Absolutely beautiful. I am getting more into Nickels myself. If only I could get away from my Lincoln's (don't tell Coinbuf I said that....) which I highly doubt I will ever do....... I have a love affair with ol' Linc..... Your coin below is awesome! I would have personally graded this at MS71. You're welcome and thanks @Lem E. I posted a beautiful 1967 SMS Jefferson awhile back I purchased raw at the Dalton, GA coin show. I also purchased a 1965 and a 1966 SMS at the same time and have been meaning to post them. I may do that now. Just having problems taking good pics with the phone I currently have. Not sure why, it's an iPhone XR (my second one...) and the last one I had took great pics. Lem E
Popular Post GBrad
I finally got my feet wet with gold which is completely new to me. Here is my newest pride and joy acquisition, a 1989 $5 Gold American Eagle. I purchased this one from none other than our Coinbuf here on the forum. I couldn't be the slightest bit more happy with this coin and its presentational box and literature. @Coinbuf patiently worked with me and allowed me to take my time in deciding if I was going to pull the trigger or not on this one. I'm so, so, so glad I did. My pics are horridly unclear but I can tell you that this coin is absolutely pristine and 100% immaculate. Thanks Coinbuf! Popular Post GBrad
Here's a 1966 Jefferson SMS I picked up at the Dalton, GA coin show several months ago and just now getting around to posting. As usual lately..... my pics are not good these days due to either a faulty camera or user error (most likely the later of the two) and it is driving me crazy because these pics don't do justice. I only gave $5 bucks for it (maybe that was too much) but I thought it was a pretty good snag. Especially since I picked up that beautiful 1967 SMS, which I already posted awhile ago here on this forum, and I also picked up two 1965 SMS Jeffersons at the same time. I believe I only gave $25 for all four coins combined. Hoghead515, rrantique, Alex in PA. and 3 others
Popular Post Alex in PA.
Well, I've picked up a couple lately. Here's one from the 'Republic' of Louisiana: Rated NGC 'Effect" it was recovered from the SS Republic that sunk in 1865. Actually Louisiana was an independent area. Seceded from the USA but had not joined the CSA yet when this coin was minted. Popular Post Lem E
Another add to the Nickel pile. Just received this one today. Purchased from @lehigh96. I think this is the 4th or maybe 5th coin I have got from him. They are always nice coins. Sorry about the pics, but I did what I had to do to try to get the color to pop out. Popular Post Henri Charriere
@Hoghead515 Lovely addition! Not everyone is lucky enough to fetch a "37 DDO in their lifetime but I like the way you've hewed to quality acquisitions. And your down-to-eath honesty speaks volumes. When a salesman at the old Stack's at the Salisbury complimented me on my choice of one of the hobby's Holy Grails, an '09-S V.D.B. as a teenager, he told me, "you'll never go wrong with quality." And I never did. To quote NYS's motto: EXCELSIOR:in "Ever Upward." (I seriously doubt I could have picked this quarter up in circulated change in the late Sixties). Popular Post GBrad
I just had to post this after getting it in the mail today. Ok..... it's not a "coin" any longer but it was at one point in time so this is my "latest acquisition". There is this guy (on Amazon) who makes rings out of any coin you would like. Being a coin lover, I thought HOW COOL!!! I have had numerous health issues and medical procedures which caused severe damage and swelling to my joints and knuckles. As a result, my original gold wedding band no longer fits (and hasn't for many many many years). I have been wearing those silicon rings ever since once I was finally able to get my original ring over my swollen knuckle. So... I decided to order one of these "coin" rings that would go over my knuckle because I was afraid I would lose my original band had I gotten it resized. If I lose this one, well.... no big deal as opposed to losing my original beloved wedding ring. I opted to have my wedding year show on this ring. Just thought I'd share it with you all. Thanks! rrantique, Coinbuf, Lem E and 3 others

If someone would like to put an antique finish Cleopatra silver round from Provident Metals' Egyptian Gods series in my mailbox, I'd be very happy with that person!! But in all seriousness....Hog's quarter is really nice, isn't it? Especially since it's a Philly coin.......the quality control people at Philly in the 1950's seem to have been asleep at the switch much of the time. Denver coins from that time period seem to be much nicer than most Philly coins, in my experience. Hoghead515 and GBrad 1
Popular Post Mohawk
I don't know where to put this but since the Elemetal Mint made it and they were based in the U.S. when they existed, I'll post her here. Popular Post GBrad
Found this one in my mailbox the other day @Hoghead515!!!!! I can't seem to get enough gold lately now that I've been bit by that darn bug...... I know it's from ICG but aside from just a few small copper spots on this one, I can't find the first mark or blemish at all (scratches are on the holder). I'm loving my gold coins (this is just my second one and probably will be for awhile especially if the "warden" catches on...... ).
