  1. Hopefully someone knows the difference. I wouldn't know the difference if missing a layer or acid washed.
  2. Can you show pics of the reverse and edges also?
  3. I agree. I never heard of the Roosevelt getting an upgrade.
  4. So, in order is the $250 Peace, then the $400 peace and the last one is from NGC Price Guide. I see the $250 peace is off a little but I'm pretty sure these were hand punched and might be off a little here and there. I may be wrong as I don't collect these, but my guess is I may be right. Lol
  5. Yea, I'm not seeing where it looks off. Could be the lighting used in the sellers pics.
  6. If I really want to dissect my coins, I have a couple OTT lights and an optivisor. At 61, my eyes are getting a little weak. I invested in the optivisor when I started doing light repairs on vintage watches. But it is great for looking at coins also.
  7. FG, just maybe a little grease got in the way of the G.
  8. I have to agree also. Looks like a vice job to me. If it had been double struck, the lettering would be the correct way instead of backwards.
  9. Yea finding out what did it can almost be impossible. Could even be skin oil.
  10. Just to add to Marks comment, you can search in the coin forums you visit for threads that are related to cleaning. There are soo many ways to clean a coin and some that are old cleanings and hard to recognize.
  11. I would think that something got on it at one time. I would think that being a clad, these aren't going to tone that fast and especially those colors. I have one that has some golden and very light blue colors, but it is a 2001.
  12. Well it sounds like you want to stay in a mid budget for coins. Of course there is always ebay. Sometimes you can get decent deals from a reputable B&M shop. Pawn shops are usually too high. NGC has a marketplace here and so does the collectors society forum (pcgs). There is also GreatCollections. Heritage and Stacks are good auction sites also. Thats all I can think of right now. Hope it helps.
  13. Yep, $1 Is that an S mint? A proof in circulation. Still just $1 even if it is due to the condition. Duh, Unless you changed the title, I missed the proof part. Lol
  14. I don't know why I am even wasting my time to show your ignored post and respond to you. My content here is basically none of your concern. I've posted a lot less the last year due to newbies like yourself who try to persuade everyone that you have these magical rare coins. You are given advice as to why they are not, but you you never listen. And BTW, you have 825 posts and I would tend to bet that 800 of them are blown up pics of nothing coins!! Back to IGNORE! Goodbye!
  15. We don't get any of those around here. I wound up buying all of 2019 off ebay. No more! Lol

  17. You stated that some coins came back cleaned after sending them to NCS. My response meant that I presume NCS considered the coins clean before they attempted to do any conservation. If you send a coin to NCS with environmental issues, they may be able to conserve it. If you send a coin in that has been previously cleaned, they cannot conserve it. NCS will not conserve a coin and then consider it cleaned. "UNLESS", the environmental issues that were conserved by NCS were removed and found that it has been cleaned after removing the environmental issues.
  18. You can't unclean a coin. NCS conservation helps environmentally affected coins.
  19. Most cancellations that I have seen are due to credit cards and dates. I don't do enrollments anymore so that's all the help I can give.
  20. Yea, I have to go with damage also. Looks like it got mangled up in something.
  21. Yea I found a couple others that posted ATS. Link is ok!
  22. Here is also a sight that you can compare yours with. There are a few 1972 DDO varieties. Lincoln Cent resource
