Hello, NGC received my shipment Monday or Tuesday of last week, but I still have not received any communication nor my submission status reflects on your page when searching by the invoice number. How long for my submission to reflect in my account as being processed or something? Please advise. Thank you.

Thank you. I didn't know about that option, so I did post there after another member told me about the Ask NGC forum. Brand new here and so many forums...getting a hold of it all, but slowly. In the video he showed the coins before being sent to NCS and then to NGC for grading. The coins had marks, dirt and what not. All of the coins were conserved, cleaned, whichever term works best...point is when he received them they were much nicer than when sent. After they were conserved, NGC graded them. So NCS did in fact do conservation efforts on the coins before they were graded...so he seemed to suggest it may have played a role in the resulting "Cleaned" grading. He might have been mistaken, but it is a point worth asking, at least if the possibility exists of that happening. Thanks again as I did ask this question in the Ask NGC/NCS forum.

Hello NGC and NCS. I'm brand new to this field and just got a membership. I have some questions that I was told were best asked here: - What address do you mail your coins to be graded? - If the shipment with the coins makes it to your P.O. Box and is awaiting being picked up by your staff BEFORE the cut off date for First Release or Early Release designation, would that be ok for the designation even if picked up AFTER the cut off date? Or would that be an issue? - This is a weird question, but with all these requirements about sending sealed boxes to NGC for some special submissions: What happens if you forget to list a coin in your invoice and it is included in a box you send to NGC for grading sealed from the Mint? Will NGC contact you regarding that additional coin for guidance or what exactly happens? - If a submission of multiple new coins only has a set with one numbered COA, how would noting "Add COA Number" and "Holder COA" affect the pricing of the invoice? Will that just add the $5 and $25 respectively to the total for that one COA or would those fees be added to all the other coins even though they won't have a COA? - How do you combine shipping when using the fillable PDF option of the form? Will NGC charge you for the total listed or will they consider and honor the "Ship With Form #" at the top of the form for multiple invoices? - I currently own the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Silver Dollar Coin from the US Mint. I am planning on submitting it for grading, but noticed that the nice special labels for it seem to have been retired. There is a nice one with the Moon Bootprint, but it states it's only for Bulk Submissions...does that mean I cannot request it? If so, what would be the options for it apart from the standard NGC label, if any? - Regarding NCS conservation, do you recommend it for brand new proof coins? I saw a video online where a collector was unboxing quite a few coins he submitted to NGC and 5 of them were also sent to NCS for conservation. About 3 or 4 of them came back with a grade of "Cleaned." He was a bit frustrated and seemed to suggest that NGC graded them cleaned because NCS had just obviously cleaned them...That was his opinion of course, but it raised the prospect of that being a possibility. So, my question is: Is it possible for a coin to get a grade of "Cleaned" from NGC as a result of NCS's conservation prior to grading? Thank you all for your consideration in helping a newbie here!

EDIT: I see what you're saying now...but the collector in the video gave the impression that the cleaned grade was a result of their own effort, which worried me. So you're stating for a fact that such a thing is not possible? Is that an opinion or based on fact? Not sure if NGC personnel answer these posts, but would like to get an official response on that...if it is possible for NCS's conservation to cause a cleaned grade on a coin...that is just the answer I'm looking for. Hi. I don't think I understand your reply. I understand what NCS does and I didn't ask about reversing a "clean" grade or anything in that regard.

After seeing an NGC unpacking video in YouTube from a collector with plenty of nice and old coins, the information I got from it was that if you submit your coins for conservation at NCS before being graded at NGC, it could tilt the balance towards your coin being graded as "Cleaned." He submitted 5 coins for NCS conservation services, and I believe 3 or 4 came back as cleaned. I thought that the whole idea of using all the services under the umbrella of NGC was precisely because it would help, not affect your submissions. What is the truth in that? I ask because I was thinking of having my coins be checked by NCS before being graded in the hopes of getting them as perfect as possible to achieve the highest grade; however, if there is a chance it will result in a "cleaned" grade, then that's a deal killer right there. In lieu of my previous question, do you recommend using NCS to inspect and conserve if needed brand new Silver Proof coins from Mints? Do you think, or have any experience, in this being beneficial or the opposite? I am considering this because since they are all still not graded, it would be easier and cheaper to do any conservation required now; however, they are brand new. All suggestions and advise will be appreciated. Thanks for your help.
