  1. From what I have understood from all of your questions that you have been posting are that: 1. You do not know much about coins! 2. You want to start a coin business but don't know how to start. 3. You do not know what kind of coins to sell. 4. You have know idea how auction venues work. 5. Are you familiar with taxes and a business? I have a really bad feeling that you are going to loose a lot of money if you don't start getting some knowledge on coins, the coin market and auction venues. It seems that you are wanting people here to tell you how to start a business! You may need to find a family member or friend that has a business so you can get an idea of all the legalities and consequences of starting a small business. I can tell you right now that I would not patronize your business as you don't really know anything about the business you want to start. I hate to sound harsh, but you need to start doing some homework yourself than relying on strangers on an internet forum!
  2. I'm not sure if green slime would be considered altered surfaces. The coin looks to have been polished which would make more sense to me. JMO
  3. It sounds like you need to take this cent of yours to a local coin dealer. You are not accepting any answers here, so no reason to continue this thread. Take it to someone that will tell you exactly what it is! GOODBYE!
  4. Well I'm only gonna say it also. Your coin is damaged. No way it was minted like that. You say this is not the only place that you showed this cent to. Did you receive the same answers there?
  5. Well your first picture looked like it had quite a bit of some doubling. It must have been the lighting because now I maybe see a couple letters that would only indicate a little mechanical doubling in this last picture. Sorry! At least you are showing some decent pics. That helps a lot.
  6. I think there are actually a few different variations for this date. You should include pics of the whole coin. here is a comparison of most characteristics. I'm not saying yours is one as I'm not an expert on these. Maybe someone who knows more will respond also. Click the picture and it will enlarge.
  7. I'm thinking I may see a little in "IN God We Trust". If so, looks like maybe Mechanical Doubling or possibly Die Deterioration.
  8. Well if you don't trust anyone here, as most newbies always think they have the holy grail, you should submit it to a TPG and let them make the decision for you!
  9. Use acetone to clean it. You'll need the real acetone from your local hardware store. Follow safety directions as it's very flammable. Pour some in a glass cup or jar and drop the coin in there and let it soak for a little while til it looks like the gunk is coming off. Some say to rinse with distilled water after you pull it out but I've used regular warm tap water with no issues.
  10. I really can't even make out the last 2 numbers. And I believe what you are seeing is not a 3 as the 3 is not even in the location or angle that a minted 3 would be. Sometimes our eyes see what we want them to see. The odds of finding a 1943 copper penny is extremely rare.
  11. What, no participation awards? Congrats to all the winners!
  12. This is another pic of the coin that you are showing here. PCGS # 95991
  13. I've never heard of any US coin not dated purposely.
  14. Check the edge of the coin. I think they had some minted on a presidential dollar blank a while back. If so, might be a decent error.
  15. Cool, well it looks like the TPG's recognize it. Slab it if ya want. Don't think it adds any value to it but still cool!
  16. I agree with him. Even though it looks cool, it is most likely not a counterstamp that a TPG would recognize. I doubt it would be graded also.
  17. Cool video David, thanks for sharing. Here's the 2006 SF Mint Commemorative to the Old Mint "The Granite Lady".
  18. That's cool! Looks like they stamped a 2001 for their 80th anniversary.
  19. Yep, Morgans were circulated dollars that went into the public, just as were peace dollars, seated dollar, Ikes, etc..... Silver eagles were never minted for circulation, only bullion collectible's.
  20. Regardless of the title, they are bullion!
  21. About all they are good for besides buying something for a dollar, is playing dollar poker with your friends. Best poker hand in the serial number wins the dollar.
  22. Well I still can't determine condition from the new pics but I can determine that it doesn't have any cameo. The reflective areas indicate no cameo.
  23. It looks like a proof but with the pics, no way of telling cameo or condition.
