The entire late 1950’s to early 1960’s range is pretty unimpressive.

Thanks Lem ;) I had a feeling they were UNC after looking again and your MS coins look the same as the ones I have been looking at in my roll. I did find some with Die chips in the date ? looks kinda cool. I did some searching but have not found any to compare them to yet.hm

JP I can handle the scope shots, example was my 1887 Morgan we discussed, but I have. One year old Nikon D5600 12 megapixel camera and four close up lenses, and can’t seem to get it where I can get the whole coin. Mostly I am using my iPhone SE 5mp phone. Example here. Any suggestions?

Oh ya you got the USB scope covered we never would have found all the marks on the Morgan without it. I have a tendency to not say enough in my wording on comments. Its that fast pace geterdon New England mindset. It gets me in trouble a lot.:whatthe:  I am saying I am no photographer and I can get buy with the USB . Now if you took that shot of that new Quarter with your iPhone I would say that you are doing way better than me and my phone could ever do it looks sweet to me.

  4. Oldhoopster and Greenstang have been at this coin collecting  a lot longer than me but I have seen something like the ( in god we trust ) as a variety at vista. You may want to look at this . I'm not saying it is the same one but it looks close enough to check it out .Most errors are not worth a lot of money there are so many in Pennies.

We also picked up this old PCGS 1902 it is nothing extra special MS 64 it should be a 65 but we all think that way. LoL  anyway it is the year my wife's Grandmother was born and the year my Grandfather came to the USA and Ellis Island

This is kind of cool. I found that my coin was sold On Heritage Auction not long ago for more than I paid for it. That makes it even more special 9_9 well to me anyway.

Round Die Chips are not uncommon. They start off as a pin hole in the die and through continuous striking, it slowly enlarges the hole into a round shape.

I have a stack of new pennies that have a chip on the E of CENT. At first I thought it was crappy zinc bubble but after finding 15 there was no doubt in my mind it was a chip. But my mind is not as chipper as it used to be either.

This price guide was from June 2021 probably out of date already … I don’t collect Morgans anymore I used too , maybe someday I’ll come back start collecting them right now I’m focusing on my German world coins . Prices for world coins are tough not a lot data for world coin pricing the price guides are out of date sometimes , really have haggle around prices on world coins mostly I used auction prices for world coins even then some prices are too high

A guy I buy  a lot of my Morgan's from asked me yesterday if I was into world silver coins yet and said he had some Reales  he was willing to part with if I wanted. I said no not yet I would not know what to look for, I did not want to say there are many counterfeit ones out there. Not that he would sell me a bad coin but if you don't know what to look for even a experienced dealer can get fooled I am told.

Shop very much on Ebay? I'm in the buyers market and i keep an eye on graded coins and the prices. Anacs holders don't fetch any type of premium at all on the market. If anything anacs coins are over all cheaper on Ebay than ngc or pcgs. I have examined many anacs coins on ebay and truthfully im not impressed

Thanks Haskel ...:whatthe:  I am no fan of E-Bay or ESTY I like to look at there prices for a reference purpose  and for a good laugh a sometimes lol  I will only buy from a few on-line dealers I have some local coin and antique  dealers in my area that I check out all the time and some dealers in TN and SC.

Although a lot people bash ANACS but for newer collectors joint the hobby.  when you look back in history of TPG , I’d say ANACS is the granddaddy of them all they pioneered the way to what TPG grading really is. although a lot dealers and collectors say PCGS was first true TPG Service maybe so on market grading with a fancy slab at that time then along came NGC but too much credit was given there (they just didn’t get that idea out of the blue unless it wasn’t for ANACS at that time)

I look for the old ANACS and fat rattlers all the time around here they are hard to find. I think they got found out a long time ago and are mostly re-graded in my neck of the woods

  10. It could have been in a roll of quarters that may have been in a fire there may be a impression of E Pluribus Unum behind Georges wig ? or the eagle tail feathers  it may just be a shadow . It is kinda crispy looking But I don't think their is a error PMD I would guess.
