    Welcome to the Forum
Always show both sides of the coin when posting along with the weight to two decimal points.
The weight can tell you if it is silver or not but as bssHog40 stated, what makes you think it is silver.

Simple, just look at the edge, if it is shiny like the face, then it is processed. An original 1943 cent is made of a steel core layered on both sides with zinc and it will show on the edge as a dull colour.

It was complete when it left the mint, been damaged afterwards.
Still worth 5 cents if you can get someone to accept it.

You need a scale that is accurate to at least two decimal points, What you have is nowhere near accurate enough. How do we know that is not 2.7?

Clear photos of both sides will be required before any one can help you.
Also provide the diameter and weight to two decimal points.

    Welcome to the CCF
Minor anomalies such as dings, scratches, gouges, die chips, discolouration etc. are not considered errors but damage. The mint is not in the business of striking perfect business strike coins, production at high speed is priority so every coin is not going to be perfect. An error is usually a one off occurrence when there is a malfunction during the striking process. What you have on your quarter is just circulation damage.

Greenstang got a reaction from Drick6sy19 in 1986-D Lincoln Cent - New DDO Found?
That is because the cause is DDD, not MD. They are two different types of doubling. DDD is caused by the metal flow on a worn die, not  the bounce that you get on MD that causes the step. MD can occur on a new die whereas DDD cannot.

Not a variety or an error. That is Die Deterioration Doubling caused by a worn die, notice how it flows towards the rim.
The mm can't be repunched as it was part of the original die and not hand punched.

Greenstang got a reaction from Sandon in Counterfeits,,how do u know
Kyle, weight to one decimal point is not accurate enough, it has to be to at least two. That could be 2.87 and still read 2.9. A copper coin should be about 3.11g.
I have put together a couple of pictures to illustrate why I think it is counterfeit. The first thing I usually look at is the nape of the neck, compare yours to the genuine coin. Also the 3 in the date is slightly lower. There are also slight differences in the eyes and mouth although hard to see.  If you still believe yours is genuine, the only alternative is to send it to a TPG for verfication.

If you are in doubt about the authenticity of a coin, post a clear photo of both sides along with the weight to two decimal points on this forum and there should be someone here who can help. Don’t pay to send it to a TPG unless you are sure it is worth it.

Greenstang got a reaction from Hoghead515 in 2021-P Washington Crossing the Delaware die cud on his ponytail
It would not be a cud, a cud involves a break of the die along the rim. It is called a Die Chip, which are fairly common. Don’t forget, once the die is chipped, every coin minted after that would have that mark on it so there could be tens of thousands out there the same. Also chips are not considered an error, it is part of the minting process. Some people call it a Die Event.

    Welcome to the Forum.
If you mean getting it graded when you say rated, the answer is no. In that condition it may be worth $2-3.00 because of the silver content whereas it would cost you $50-60.00 to have it graded.
Also in the future, start a new post for each coin as it gets confusing with more than one coin on a post.
