Nice job with the photos by the way.

Maybe he couldn’t find that “new coin group to join” and decided to give us another chance.
Or maybe he made them mad as well, and they "decided" for him. Could be that they are "dumb" people in those other groups as well.

The previous owner will get an email from NGC saying that you want to add the coin to your collection. They can either release the coin, at which point you will be able to add it to your collection, or they can ignore the email. If they ignore the request, you will have to wait 3 days (I believe it's still 3 days) to add the coin.
If by some odd chance the previous owner is still claiming ownership, well then that's a whole other can of worms, one I have never encountered.

Oh, I thought of another one. It has to do with the running threads for requesting new registry sets and the thread for requesting new registry slots.
If you ask for a new registry slot in the thread for requesting a new registry set, you get a 7 day timeout. And vice versa. If you request a new registry set in the thread for requesting new registry slots, adios muchaco for 7 days.
Second offense, you request is automatically denied.
Third offense, you need to forfeit your coins.
I am kidding of course, bit it astounds me how many folks screw this up.

LOL, this has to be it. Europe, French 20 Francs Gold Rooster, Circulation Strikes (1899-1914) All Time Set: Rooster Roster (pcgs.com)
Very nice QA.
Thanks Mike.
Wow. Absolutely stunning set QA. I would definitely leave the collection in the slabs they are in.

Every PCGS coin I've ever bought I crossed over to NGC, every one of them crossed successfully, and a couple upgraded to a +.
And yet I have tried to cross over, and only 1 of 4 would cross at the same or higher grade, so YMMV.
QA, can you provide a link to your registry set? Or anyone? Not sure where to look for it. All I know is it's French, gold, and something about chickens.

No it’s not clear enough. The word counterfeit has no business on this thread and I don’t really appreciate that you came here to with the sole intention of putting that idea in someone’s head. You even mentioned that something looked “funny” about my coin. Well there is nothing funny about it as far as I am concerned and frankly I am insulted.
If you're insulted then get off the internet. Quit being cheap, looking for answers for free, on the internet. Pay to have them appraised. If you don't like what Bob says, go somewhere else. Your sense of entitlement and pomposity is staggering.

Your coin is a business strike. Today's release was a proof. Unless I am missing something you are trying to say?

I checked the 2021 ASE T2 as it went on sale. Shortly after it states NOT AVALILABLE.
anticipating that, I bought a guaranteed MS 70 on MCM about some 6 weeks ago, so it doesn’t bother me today. Anybody else find this out today? It was totally expected.

NGC Registry participants receive an overall ranking based on the total score of all coins registered in their competitive sets.
This is the part I don't understand. It doesn't count your points for that coin unless its in a competitive set?

I think its the same as it's always been, except today, it's much easier to get a question in front of a lot of eyeballs, and do it anonymously.
Remember how hard it was getting numismatic info in the past. You had to make a conscience effort to find somebody who knew something, whether a LCS, show, or club. Then you had to physically show it to someone and listen to their response. Effort was involved.
Now, you can surf the net while drinking an Iron City beer and watching the Kardashian's and quickly find a lot of info. Some of it good and some junk. Stumble onto a site like this, snap a quick pic with your phone, and you're in business. No leaving the house, no having to search for somebody who might know coins, no having to stand face to face with someone telling you your coin is damaged.
Also, if you pay attention to the "got these coins from grandpa's estate" questions, you'll occasionally see PMD in those groups. Apparently, people were accumulating junk back then, but just stored things away if they couldn't find any information
Just my thoughts
This 100%.

I understand the concept of it, just literally have never seen it done anywhere else. But thanks for the explanation! As I said, in the grand scheme of things, it's not an issue. Y'all are going to be busy with @BlakeEik list anyways

The set I circled below is not in second place. All 5 of the number 1 sets above him are ahead of him. Whereas the circled set is listed as the second best set, (#2) it is really 6th best. It should be listed as #6, not #2. Below the first picture I have included one from PCGS. There are 16 people tied for the number one set in this particular category. Hence, they all have a number 1 next to their name. However, unlike your example, the next set is not listed as #2. It is listed as #17.
Like I said, not a big deal, but this is the only place I have ever seen it listed like this.

Hello, Morpheus.
Discussions about this have gone back and forth among the senior team over the years. Ultimately, we decided to keep it this way. When several collectors are tied for a certain rank, it is fair that they maintain that numerical tie. To "demote" a collector in rank just because s/he added a coin a few minutes after another collector would not be fair. As such, the next person in rank/score falls one level below the others. Thanks, and have a good day.
I think you misunderstand me. I agree with keeping the tied collectors at the same rank. Same points should equal same rank. What I am referring to is the collectors that come after that.
Collector #1 has 1000 points
Collector #2 has 750 points
Collector #3 has 500 points
Collector #4 has 500 points
Collector #5 has 500 points
Collector #6 has 250 points.
Right now, the ranking is as follows:
1. Collector #1
2. Collector #2
3. Collector #3
3. Collector #4
3. Collector #5
4. Collector #6
When, in fact:
1. Collector #1
2. Collector #2
3. Collector #3
3. Collector #4
3. Collector #5
6. Collector #6
Collector #6 does not have the 4th ranked set. They have the 6th ranked set. In fact, NGC is literally the only place I have seen ranking done in this matter.

In regards to question #3, I do not believe it is referring to the size of the coin, but rather the mint mark.
