    Friends,
I have been here for over 15 years. At one point 10 years ago I started buying graded coins from members and submitting many coins to NGC as well.My goal was to obtain as close to $100,000 in NGC value at no cost out of pocket. I did end up with a great set of dimes which I will be keeping as a momentum but the rest is going to Great Collections over the next few months.
My dimes have $0 of cost (Rank #1 Clad NGC only) as I have sold so many dimes over the years that they actually floated costs on other invested coins.
First off the chart will be all the Lincoln coins I have listed in my collection manager. I will send them in one month. NGC list value = $12,158. My cost to date on the group of 94 coins is $1,763 It took a lot of sales to get those costs so low and a good sale on those will bring my total cost to date down closer to $0 invested total.
I will add to this journal over the next few months to let you know where I land.
    Enjoy Collecting!!!

I enjoy my Roosevelt dime set 1965 to date Circulation issue with varieties. Wonder why it takes NGC
so long to add coins yearly to the set? I picked up my 2019 P & D dimes and a 2020 D PL dime this weekend
for my set at G. C. Knowing that the 2021 coins are getting graded just makes me wonder when they
are going to add 2020 to the set. I have around 30 dimes for a submission that should get sent in soon.
My set is still missing around 25 coins and has at least 25 coins that I would like to upgrade.
    Happy Collecting,

A different time for most of us. As I lost my wife a year ago I stop in once in a while to check up on all of you collectors.
Collecting for me left my mind when my wife passed. I have started a few new small businesses to keep my mind busy and
seem to have no extra time to indulge in bidding for coins to add to my sets. Taking a little time to check ranks
on some sets this morning. Good Luck to those that have worked so hard on their collection for the awards this year.
    Happy Coin Collecting!!

    Friends,
At the beginning of the year the excitement builds as the first 2019 "W" quarter hunt starts. Huge high bids roll out
as the first hit the auction blocks. With the year almost at the end the 5th "W" coin has not hit the streets yet.
Just for fun I decided to go into the NGC research and check the census report on these rarities.
Rarities --- Not even by a long shot!!!!
Truth is there are so many graded this year by NGC only that I can honestly figure that NGC will make over $500,000 in the
total "W" 2019  parks quarters graded by the end of this year. So far to date this year 19,662 - 2019 "W" mint mark quarters have been graded.
The HUNT as it is called was well played by the mint and the grading companies as well. The "W" mint parks quarters are no rarity at all and
plentiful in MS67 slabs already graded.

    Hey Guys and Gals,
My son came over today and had a 36" T V with him. Up to my office he scrambled and started an attack on my old Dell computer. W.T.H. are you doing with my perfect running computer I asked.
It took a while and some old school hook up lines that worked well with new school devices ( the T-V).
I now have monster sized coin pics to view that are so awesome!!
     So Cool!!!
Man, I love that son of mine --- He's Awesome!!!
You know I had to add a pic to this post just to enjoy the huge view!

    Friends,
I was able to get a nice group of additions to my sets in May.
Great Collections offered many top end coins from Centurion Collection. Although some bids  were quite high I was ale to get a few.
I did miss out on getting a Georgia-P quarter. There were 3 of them i MS68 slabs and I missed all  3 of them. Very pleased with the state
quarters I did win last month which put my top pop totals to 55 for that set.
Well till next time ----- Happy Collecting!!!

    Hi Friends,
I have accomplished quite a nice little set of Jefferson nickels over the past few years. I am not one to run around looking for nickels but have been fortunate to get plenty offered as trades over the past few years. This January I was offered around 5 nickels in a value trade of $1000+. Adding those few more just step the set up even more. I enjoy interacting with others sets and helping them get to their goals on their collection. Here are a few of the new members of the Jefferson Steps.
     Fun traders!!

I will take a little extra time later on to get better pics showing the steps.
    Later---Rick

I have been looking the past week and thinking of maybe submitting a few coins. It actually took a while --- like 40 clicks just to shout out here. Obviously everything is not ready yet for direct connecting with this site format. I have seen a few world collectors that have managed to adhere to the new format. Just wondering if there are any U.S. collectors still hanging around before I renew my membership

    Thanks ----- Rick

Well --- Dena has deleted my Rick's Keepers member page and added everything to my Six Mile Rick member page. Still I am Rick's Keepers in chat log in.  What a STRUGGLE!!

    Friends,
As I was really thinking of getting away from the state quarter series I did decide to do another submission on the quest. A little surprised on the conflicts needed to enter this journal but I see things getting rougher as time passes. Anyway -- seeing that our journals are no longer part of our member page I have a hard time thinking that all is so well with NGC!! This is definitely going to be a rough ride!!  I will renew my membership in a month and try a few submissions.
     Hope things get better!!!

I am doing a test on todays collector market.
    Friends,
Just a small group of NGC top pop MS67rds and MS68rds. Lets see how they actually perform throughout the week. Starting out at $1 bids with no reserves. spotless reds at Heritage.
There is a link in Money Marketplace in the Chat Boards to watch the sales.

    message boards coming soon!!
    Jackson,
You do know that you can send in more than 25 slots per entry right? Oh yeah they will keep the page growing for you to keep filling out those slots now. Ha Ha!! I plan on getting back in the dimes in June. Taking a few months off submitting and just selling for a while.
On the pic you took I really liked it. It takes some sun to get through many toned copper coins. If the pic does not look the way you want in the sunlight wait till a partial cloudy day and try again. The clouds will lower the direct brightness and show more of the toning thickness.

    WOWSERS
    CBC,
As the Peace 34-S slab says MS63 I am totally in awe of the great looks of that obverse. The reverse must be a mess to average out at 63.
Thanks for the pic and time will get you that SWEET 34-S for sure.
I had to search for something to show off. Been ATS lately hanging out with a 16 year kid that loves dimes. I think the next year is going to render toward the silver dimes and clads for me.
    Enjoy building your sets all!!!

Where did all the new coin pics go?
    Friends,
O-K so we went through some dramatic changes in the club. We still purchase coins no matter, so where are all the new additions? It's time for everybody to get back to collecting coins around here.
The day started off good with work and my wife and grown kids were going to a movie ( The Shack ) and lunch. Well it all blew up somewhere when someone was worried about me and my will.
That must have been one heck of a movie!! It tore the whole family apart. So here I am sitting here bored with nothing to read in these past journal posts but more complaints again with the exception of RMW collection posts. His posts are interesting but is he the only collector left??? I like good ole U.S. coins and not familiar with the world sets so I don't get the thrill he does on foreign coins. Still I do appreciate his passion.
A busy time in the year for me so I have not had time to take any new pics. I enjoy the Roosevelt dimes and Jefferson nickles. Here is a sweet toned nickel I sent in from a Jefferson commemorative set.
    Enjoy

This is going to take a little time to adjust to.
    Friends,
I finally got into the chat boards today after work. WOW -- everything is so different that you are totally lost from the start. Have patience though as you will get use to the new platform. I posted in the money market and even added a pic of a coin from my computer data. That is a great ++ now with the easy new downloading available.

    Adjusting to new rules.
    Friends,
Well, The new year started with adjustments made to fit in sorta speak. A few posts started on no more PCGS coins have been adding up of which I don't get into as I don't do much accusations with not knowing the full truth behind the smoke screen. The posts read like women in a salon talking about yesterdays dramatic soap opera.
So with that said I have sent all my sales and trade set PCGS coins off to new collectors that do not build sets here in the club. That leaves my extra sets and coins all NGC for trades and such within the club.
My latest state quarter submission has made it to NGC and will be graded in a week or two. I hope to get a few more top pops to add to Pinnacle Collection again. I had a great time last year helping him get his set to the top of the sets category. My state quarter set and VanPhillips set are still holding MS66 state quarters where we would like to have MS67's. Those are some coins that were submitted as well. 2008 dates seem to be the toughest rolls to find with good strike appearance and luster. Soon to send in a few nice torches to add to the dimes along with some other series sets I have been saving up.
Well everyone, enjoy the 2017 year in NGC Collectors Society and I hope to read many posts from all of you through the year.

    I had a GREAT year!
Friends, The year ended up pretty nice this year with all my State Quarter submissions. I helped a couple sets and also completed my set. Of course I sold around 6 keepers to help others complete their state quarter set but I can always make more. Next year is already in the plans for some great submissions. I have silver dime varieties, modern commemorative dollars - MS, and of course another state quarter submission at NGC now to start the beginning of the new coin year out.
    Good Luck and Have Fun!!

    My grading that is!!
    Friends,
I have been searching over 150 rolls so far to get a few nice keepers to add to my set graded. I thought at the time it would be a breeze and then I got all kinds of work added to my daily program. It has been all I can do to get some midnight hours to search the rolls I have and now I am adding 24 dates at 10 rolls each to boot. ---- Numismatic Searching Nut!!!

Many bids this week working both ends of the sets!!
    Friends,
As usual I am always trying to figure out a new direction in collecting coins. I have many Modern Commems to send in for grading and at the same time I am building a dansco set on the raw end. It is great to complete a raw set as well as a graded set of each series I compete in. I have a blast at both sides without the total letdown of grading and expenses. Going for some TOUGH hole fillers in my RAW set this week. ---- Wish me luck!!
    Enjoy Collecting

A little reverse psychology on collecting!!
    Hey friends,
Well this week ended up in a trade with another member. I have been working on 1979 proof set a couple years now. Only missing a few keepers to complete I traded a sweet 1988 Lincoln PF70rdUC for a 1979 25c Type 2 70UC and some cash.
As this is a farewell to the Lincoln I decided to post a pic for perfection.
    Good Bye and Enjoy

Submission from NGC has made it home!!
    Friends,
I sent in a parks quarter submission a few weeks ago. Hoping to get a few top pops for the rank 1 set to boost his points spread. Well I do think NGC was a bit tight on the grades but I did come up with a MS68 Peace Memorial S mint which he could use. This is the first and only for this coin and Pinnacle Collection is glad to add it to his set.
I started a set myself which should be a fun new addition. There are many extra coins if someone is looking to get into the parks quarter set.
    Happy Coin Collecting!!

Latest Venture --- over 100 count coin submission!!
    Friends,
With the Statehood quarters I found being all submitted I decided to move on with the Parks. This submission will have many "S" mint business strikes for set builders that are needing them. I got some great rolls from wdrob and others a couple years ago but didn't have the funds to submit them. 2 weeks at NGC and still at RECIEVED level I do expect the BULK submission to show the grades soon.
This will be an exciting new set addition as I only have 2 business strikes in the set now. Never really started the set due to having so many raw coins to submit. The Parks set will contain more coins than the Statehoods when it is completed in 2020 or so.
I am not sure which coins will be next for the NGC submission tour this year but I am sure having a great time with all the submissions sent in so far!!
    Happy Coin Collecting

Buy, Sell, Trade --- I need MORE raw coins!!
    Friends,
As usual I do a post every year looking to get your raw mint sets, mint package material, and rolls of coins. I have run out of stuff to search through and looking for anything you might have in a box, dresser, or on a shelf. I build albums complete and sell them to young and old collectors wanting them. Mostly 1940 to date coins including Modern Commemorative and business strike sets.
If you have a cluster of rolls or mint sets sitting around that you would like to liquidate and invest in graded coins --- Give me a shout. I'd love to search through them!!
    Thanks,
    Rick
