If they can't figure it out at NGC..
From my previous posting on this Russian Imperial 1916 5 Kopek you know that NGC returned it with every excuse you have never heard of with what amounted to a no grade cause we just don't know, but Thank You for paying for us to look at it. PCGS has graders that could tell the difference and returned this coin as GENUINE - RIMS FILED. This is a hard to find, expensive, rare coin, and I thought I was sending it to the best, most experienced graders when I s
On a day I have come down with a cold.
Folks,
I had grown a little frustrated with the amount of Details graded coins I have received back from NGC so I decided to give myself a little break and just submit a grouping of modern coins directly from mint packaging.
I just got the shipment back and two of them came back as MS70. MS70 number 1 is the 2004 Lewis/Clark commemorative. MS70 number 2 is the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial. The other 4 coins I submitted also were very satisfactory with
Hard to find PERFECT!
THIS George Washington is the latest additon to my collection! Finding it in PF-70 UC is very difficult. I have looked at some other sets and I see about 8 or 9 plus mine.

Smaller gold coins hidden away for a long time
Hello again fellow collectors:
Well, I was so enthused by the first four coins I had graded as a test grade for the 40 coins I have been hiding for a long time.
Got such great results from the first 4, that I am sending in the rest. On the way yesterday, registered mail are 37 gold coins. Austria, Belgium, Canada, Columbia, France, Gr. Brit., Holland/Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Prussia, Switz., & Russia,.

Obtained a 1945-P Jefferson Nickel PCGS MS65 FS from Heritage Rare Coins for $109 and it replaced a coin with the same grade in my PCGS registry set.
The auction was won using a max bid of $110.

Greetings Collectors,
Once again I am late. My dad had a slight setback and I am with him about 90 miles from my home. I am using the computer I urged him to get under the guise he needed to keep track of his stocks etc. But I must admit there were some personal needs of my own that kept me nagging him 'til he finally agreed it would be a good thing for him. You really don't apreciate what you have until you are forced to use another system. But even though the scre

This is just to let those who have put me on their Friends list
know that "Electric Peak Collection" has not somehow intruded.
I never really liked the name "Low Budget". Certainly I don't have the deep pockets that some collectors do, but I've managed to spend more than a 'low budget' over the past several years. So as I suggested last year that I might do, I decided to change my Registry name. But to what? It seems to me that the name of a place or event that ha

The latest Baltimore coin show had its ups and downs for me.
I took vacation days Thursday & Friday. As usual, the bourse

Couple of Conder tokens from eBay make it into my set.
These may not be the highest grade tokens out there but they sure are nice looking for the grade. Click on Best2u and see the rest of the set under the my Sig. Series sets.
Newest Addition
This 1929 Mercury Dime is my latest addition. I had set a goal for this set, but it was way above my budget! So I've changed my goal to the best I can get!

Happy Fathers Day, Dad!!!
I've been struggling with a waning passion and enthusiasm for coin collecting for 2 years, now. I've only purchased 3 coins in the last 2 years.
I still check dealer web sites, review auction listings, and bring coins home from the safe deposit box, occasionally. However, some of the excitement is missing.
Today, in honor of the 10th Fathers Day that I don't have Dad with me, I brought out Dad's beat up old Morgan Dollar- "Herman's Coin". We watched the US Open

Hi everyone...
It's been a bit slow for me in coin collecting. Besides one horrible submission and continuing with my raw Barber half album, not a lot of upgrades or additions for my registry sets have been available.
So to cut to the chase, I don't collect any modern series except for the Canadian proof dimes with the Bluenose Schooner Sailing ship on them. This gives me some peace because I don't have to worry about release dates, first strikes, early rele
...for collecting coins.
I had a birthday last Sunday and it turned out to be fruitful for my coin collection. In addition to the coins that I would have normally gotten with this paycheck, my co-workers chipped in and got me the 2006 Silver State Quarter set and my parents got me the 2007 Silver State Quarter set. Too bad I can't have a birthday every month.
Happy Collecting.

It's nice to be able to add a few
Friends, I just added a few more Morgans, and started my Peace dollar set. I was lucky to get a 1892-cc,1893,& a 1895-0 at a fair price last night. Hopefully next month I will be able to add a few more of the tougher ones.
HAPPY COIN COLLECTING
Here's what NGC says...
I would grade both of these F-15, with #1 just a hair better than #2. I had #1 in my collection for over 20 years, and sent it to NGC for grading early this year. It came back as F-15.
#2 was just listed in a Teletrade auction, in a NGC VF-25 slab. For what it's worth , the VF-20 in my Registry set looks better than either #1 or #2.

1817A France G20F And look what came up.
Had this hanging around for a while, decided to have it graded, and got a pleasant surprise. There was no slot for it, so NGC is looking at my request to add one. I am havin' too much fun looking at this one, Maybe you better take it. I have a small collection of odd gold coins from pre-1927 and many before 1900. Stay tuned, but these are all available. Now I have to figure out how to get in the chat room.

Be careful what you ask for you might get it.
A few years ago, I purchased a US Administration, 1903-S Philippines 1 Peso coin featuring the allegorical Lady Liberty for my ?Inspirational Ladies? signature set. The coin looked to be a nice AU grade with even gunmetal toning. However, the coin exhibited what appeared to be carbon deposits primarily on its reverse near the coin?s rim. Thinking the coin would return as a no-grade, I thought to submit it for conservation and grading.

Another Slot filled in an Important Mint Set...
Greetings Collectors,
Just wanted to share a new coin that came today. This MS-62 was won at auction on eBay for a very fair price for the condition it is. As most of you know my favorite silver coin set is the Franklin Half Dollar in mint state and to round out my "top three" in silver is the Walking Liberty Half and coming in third is the Mercury Dime. These latter two sets are ones I am trying to complete in what some call the "middle set" (
Enjoying the benifits of others knowledge and expertise
Hello all:
Again I profess to be needing help regarding buying, selling, focusing on numismatics. When I acquire my coins I do not always buy just the ones I want for my "keeper collection" but occaisionally get some for trading or simply selling. If any of you have the time to look over my "stash" [as I call it] and have any advice on a direction I may should take, I am open to suggestions. I just went through a give and take with
