Delaware Half Arrives for Christmas

Part of the explosion of commemoratives in 1936. Hi All, I received my MS63 PCGS Delaware Half in the mail yesterday. 25th American Eagle Grades Disappointed!!

Economy tier flies!!!!

got my grades back already! NGC had my packed plugged in as received on 12/07/11. i paid for the economy packed which, at the time, hAD LIKE A 19 BUSINESS DAY TURNOVER. it is now 12/19 and they are now finalized and shipped! i am VERY VERY happy with my grades and the short turnover!! thank you to everyone at NGC. i only had one that i was curious about, my 1882 CC says "dip residue" thast means it will come back raw right? i kind of want to take it to the dealer i bought it from and ask hi

Is on its way!!! Hi All, Hope your all enjoying the Holiday Season and getting those special numismatic treasures that make your heart skip a beat. 2011 and Beyond

2011 has been a banner year for changes in my collection, but what about plans for 2012. What a difference a year can make, one year ago I wrote of my commitment to continue purchasing "First Spouse" gold coins, but now a year later, I only collect the medals. Subsequently, since I discontinued the "First Spouse" series, I decided to put those coins that no longer meet my collecting goals up for sale. While Everyone Was Watching Eagles Soar

There was a lot of small change left to be had on the ground! Rarely do I get excited to the point of being downright effervescent when I buy coins. First, this is not a good negotiation strategy when dealing face to face with a coin dealer I much prefer a poker face with a wrinkled brow thrown in here and there just for effect. What a Rotten Shame!

EBay Dealers with multiple listings of 5, 10, 20, and more sets on hand . . For those of us who followed the rules and stayed within the lines, and picked up our 5 sets or less, and then actually got them -- COOL! We got what we wanted for our collections, and one for that special gift, and didn/t make pigs of ourselves. sometimes the registry points don't reflect the better, rarer or higher value coin I'll keep this short as I know the excitement over the arrival of the ASE's sets and subsequent grading results has been the big focus of interest for the past month. After a self-imposed buying moratorium for the past 6+ weeks I had won 3 items at the Stacks/Bowers auction in Nov here in Maryland ( Baltimore). I finally upgraded my 1941 Walker to an MS67 - the MS66 that filled the slot is not going anywhere

thrilled with 25th sets

3-70 sets I submitted my 5 sets to NGC and was really surprised to learn that 20 of the 25 coins graded 70.I ended up with 3 complete 70 sets. The other 5 70 coins were not the key date coins. Grades are in on first set of A25

I was a little bummed about not hitting the 70 on the Reverse Proof, but they have 5 more sets of mine to grade.   Sent to NCG on 11/24, results released today (there was a delay due to a payment/coupon issue that cost me a week, I imagine).   Mixed bag, but overall ok with these. So does taking a little time off of work. ) I am down to two coins in my Kennedy proof collection (1993 Silver and 1998 Specimen). The only '93 I had been able to find was one on Ebay going for $94 Or Best Offer. I offered the seller $50 for the $37 coin, but it was rejected. I figured it would be a hole for a while longer than I wanted. So this morning, I was looking at coins and I decided on a hunch to check again. I found another one for $31.50! It's about time! I've been around here for over a year and finally decided to write a journal. I've been collecting coins since high school. For the past 2 years I have concentrated on graded coins. Like most others, I like ASE's, but also like modern commems. I have limited disposable income, so I never pay full price for anything. Case in point: my first PF70 snag. 2011 Army 50c. $30 at local coin show. I hope to add more coin pics next week while on vacation. Thanks for stopping by!

Strange US Mint emails - anyone else

Your order for 5 coin set is backordered I have been getting a email every few weeks from the US Mint (yes they are actually from the Mint) that say my order for the 25th anniversary 5 coin American Eagles is back ordered. When I got the first one I thought maybe I was on a wait list and had a chance now that I havegotten the third on with a 12/26/11 date I suspect there will be no coins coming and the next email will say that.
