Tips for the beginning collector, wish I would have gotten them from the start....

The stuff I wish I new before I started. So the bug bit me about three years ago to start collecting more than just a handful of coins I had accumulated over time. I started by visiting my local coin shop and working on a dansco 7070 type set book. At that point, I was just trying to fill every whole in the set, which took about two months, then I added the gold page and filled all but the double eagles. It's a nice way to start and everyone has a different budget that they are working

my first big buy this year and my best ever

luck on ebay last night i was surfing ebay for couple of hours when i see that listing from a dealer with over 12000 transactions for a lot of 83 MS66 RD lincoln 1934-1964 all NGC graded, including 1934 p.d. 1935 to 1958 p.d.s. 1956 to 1964 p.d with 1943 p.d.s graded ms66. i then place a bid of 900.00 in the last second the bid when up too 939.99 with reserve not met. this morning i get a e-mail from the seller asking me too give him a call so i did, he offer me the all set for the great price

Still plugging away

Scored another Washington quarter for my 32-64 ms set I won a ms 66 1939 D last night on ebay.not a rare one by no means,but they dont come up that often for auction.after I won I checked ebay buy it now listings for the same coin.I found two listings,one about 2.5 times higher,the other 3 times higher than what I paid.Maybe just my way to feel like I got a deal To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. To all my SILVER HOARDING friends Almost all of us have a silver eagle from the 25th Aniv. set. The question came up last month as to when these silver jewels would have a value in the price list. When Germany was East and West

This year the Women's basketball team has had their best season ever. 1992D MS68RD Hi Everyone. Just added this NGC MS68RD 1992D to my Lincoln Memorial Collection and yes it did replace a PCGS coin of the same grade. The PCGS coin went into one of my other sets so I do still own the original coin. Being a member of the Collector Society it is a goal to own a pure NGC set for this site.
