The gold Schutzenfest medals are few and far between. The Olten came from Rod Moore, and he helped me get this 1910 Bern from a Swiss seller...

I wouldn't mind finding a third for the hat trick!

Fresh from the Perth Mint and arrived today - the last in the Treasures of Australia series and this one will complete my set after grading.

The single natural pearl set inside the mother of pearl locket is a different touch to the previous years which had multiple pieces inside the clear locket. Other than the smudge on the plastic capsule, Perth sent me a problem free coin.

I bought this for about $26 NZ and thought it was a full water lines coin. But now I have it in hand it turns out to be a 1 1/2 waterlines Arnprior and in much better condition than I thought!! :whee:

I suppose that makes the 2 months I waited for it to arrive worth while.

Hello,

Got this 1781A 20 Kreuser a little while ago. It is the KM2069 variety. The folks ATS say it is cleaned. It is currently listed in all the price guides at reported-not confirmed. Does this mean it is now confirmed? How do I let the people who run the price guides know there is one known now? Do you think they would set a value on it?

Thanks,

Richard

Kingdom issue soon after gaining independence from the Ottoman Empire and before the monarchy was established. Here is a scarce coin from the independence period of 1828-31. The phoenix represents the re-birth of Greece and independence from the Ottoman Empire (Turks). This is the one year type with the phoenix in a pearl circle (actually little heart shapes). The series was struck by the liberation hero, and first governor Ioannis Antonios Kapodistrias. His name appears on the reverse. Very Scarce. It appears that the 1830 series is somewhat distinctive. Many are more crude with the planchets exhibiting irregularities. This one was obtained from Stacks Bowers auction #159 in Baltimore (Lot# 10468, Apr. 2011). Sale price was nearly $259 w/fees. This VF example is 15.45 grams and ~ 31mm.

I have an entire on-line Moneta Museum of coins (no commercial interests) of ancient, medieval and world coins at:

This came today from Greece. It will be a part of my horse-themed custom set.
