Many of the European cathedral medals by Jacques Wiener feature quite similar views of the interior with a high vaulted ceiling. The interior of the cathedral at Aachen is a bit more distinctive.

One of these is quite common, the other quite rare. I'll leave it to you to determine which is which.

nice coins Jeff...if you intend to expand your railway theme there are some nice coins in the Canadian $20 transportation series...I have bought all of the ship ones of course..

 

PS: I believe they ran from 2000-2003, you can find a list in the Registry since they are part of a competetive registry category; Canada $20 Transportation Series-- there are 16 coins total, one each year with a nautical, railway, and aviation theme..

My first foreign coin. 20 franc French Rooster. Got it a tick over melt . . . decent condition . . . would having it graded do anything for me?

Great piece of gold! No, having it graded would be pointless - these are essentially bullion coins. There is little demand for them above spot.

My proof set of Finnish 2001 regular issue coins images was sent to me today from NGC. For some strange reason the Markkaa coins was not graded as PF even though they are proof struck :?

 

I dont fully agree with NGC's grading taken from a proof set these coins should all be PF 68 to PF 70, I guess they saw something I didnt.

I am attaching a scan of 5 of my favorite new additions to the music coin set. The first is Boris Hristoff of Bulgaria. He was a famous Bass Opera singer. Next, Robert Marley of Jamaica, Reggae music...not my thing...but talented man and very popular, 3rd Sergi Rachmaninoff, one of my favorite Russian composers, 4th, Peter Ilich Tchaikovski, another well loved Russian Composer (Nutcracker Suite for example) and 5, the National Anthem of Transnistria. I had to look up Transnistria...but it really...sort of...is a country.

 

I have my 5 NGC submissions I haven't used yet...I think these will be the 5 selections to send in. I THINK they will accept gold on the "free" submission with membership coupon.

 

I really like the nice simple designs of the Finnish coins (prior post).
