I think the OP is looking to resell these coins and using this forum for justification to ask for the higher prices. There is saying us old guys use a lot.

Also, on occasion, there will be uneven wear on a particular section of a coin. Generally, each grade will have a consideration for the eveness of wear. Even though most areas of a coin may be of a particular grade, the uneveness would most likely reduce the grade of the coin. Also, there is the unfortunate occasion when an improper cleaning is attempted and scratches are visible. Many collectors will not clean coins, except for non-abrasive methods, such as soap and hot water to remove dirt and grease.

Face detail, such as eyes, mouth and nose are clearly visible, with good detail.
The word "liberty" on the shield is crisp and complete.
All of the lines on the shield are crisp.
More detail in the hair and cap are visible.
Drape folds are complete and feet\sandal details are visible.
Wearing is even and only on the highest areas.
Denticles are visible and distinct.
Overall wear is very minimal.Reverse-
All letters are easily readable.
All of the lines on the shield are crisp
Almost all feather demarcation is visible.
Denticles are visible and distinct.
Leaf veins and arrow spines are visible.
Overall wear is very minimal.(for reference of the coins that I have self graded, I have posted my ebay link on the forum "Coin Marketplace", thread "Board Member = Ebay ID")
The tool for examination that I use is a jewelers loop (30x, 60x), purchased from Amazon.
Also, for comparison, is an NGC XF rated coin.
I am still unsure what you are trying to sell the members with all this information. Your comparisons have a lot of words but there are always two words missing on most of the coins you have posted. You may want to consider adding (Cleaned ) and (Details ) to your list. Just a suggestion .

I have seen this coin before. When I bid on a coin I look it up before the bid. A few times I have found . Half's and Morgan's on the reverse

JPM, this is funny..the other day, you were telling us how you were having a tough time finding a mint state Jefferson nickel 2023 D. Well today, I received a solicitation from VFW, ant attached to the letter were 4 brand spanking new Jefferson 2023 D nickels! Not a mark on them! I can send you a couple if you like.
Bill

@J P M are those ice cube trays? If so, that's ingenious imo! Neat way to store them!
Yes they are ice cube trays. They hold the five coins of each year for the state and park quarters easy to sort out and you can stack them to store them neatly.

I never knew these were tough, but I do understand that the circulation version is tougher than the matte version in the uncirculated set. Finding really nice ‘05-‘10 circulation pieces is important for completeness.
Yes Kurt, The 05-10 coins are not easy to find like these two I posted. I have found some proofs out there but I have never found a SP coin in the wild. That would be a unlikely find IMO.

JPM what do you look for when going through nickels? O
I look for the smallest amount of damage with clean rims. With nickels it is not easy the edge on a new coin can make marks all over right from the mint bin before they are even bagged up.

This is pulled directly from the mint website from the 2020 mint set page. I don’t see this on any other of the mint set pages for other years.
United States Mint uncirculated coins are struck on special presses using greater force than circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image.
Wow the older mint sets were coins they found on the bottom of the bin . LoL just a joke .. But all my old mint set coins are not very nice.

So are you asking for advice on this ungraded coin or telling us your opinion ?

But technically it's the same coin right? Not sure if this is a dumb question but is the coin from a uncirculated set the same as a uncirculated roll coin? I have been putting together a BU nickel set. To get the whole set you would have to split up a set or two. Off the top of my head the 2017 enhanced nickel only came in the set. .
I would say you are good to go with taking coins from mint sets. Many people do just that to make up coin folders. Uncirculated coin rolls may only be labeled that way unless they are directly from the Mint. Bank rolls are not necessarily uncirculated although you may find some acceptable coins that way .

Since it's solid and does not seem to be consistent with a die crack, I think it's a corrosion induced solid blister like the attached from error-ref.com, and not a linear plating blister which would be hollow. At least with how those terms are used on error-ref.com which makes a distinction between the two based on if the blister is solid or hollow.
And a copper plated zinc 1984 (P) Lincoln cent with blisters has no added collector value in either case, regardless of any blister being poped either by checking it too forcefully or from the coin being in circulation.
Even a die crack is not considered to be valuable, just a neat thing to find .

I never got any kind of a answer to my question. So after seeing the generic response I came to the conclusion we were just dealing with another (Slick) .

Ya Greg I found that in a common bank roll. I was going to send it out I believe it is a Ragged Fisher.

I will keep what I call book coins. I save Cents, Nickels and Quarters. I cherry pick anything above AU. Over time I save 3 to 5 of each year then take the best one's and get a folder to put them in. I also save any die cracks or clash's depending on the severity. You can just buy complete sets but then you miss all the fun stuff. Like this rare 2009 D. It is beat up but try and find one in pocket change . This is how I save coins by date.

I do not need it graded to find out . To me it is priceless. It is only worth what someone will pay me for it. The worth can be estimated or suggested but in the end it is only worth what it is worth to someone else. I buy graded coins so others will know the worth. Is that answer worthy.

About a year ago I unknowingly purchased a 1861 $2.5 Liberty Head that had previously had a post on it. It was a nice VF 35 in a 2x2 holder and whoever removed the post had filled the hole with gold and did a nice job . You could not see the coin edge until I removed it from the 2x2 when I got it home. Needless to say the coin had lost its numismatic value and I was able to return it and get another gold coin. Sorry to say you Rooster has the same issue. but yours can still be a nice neckless. By the way the other gold coins are very nice looking, and Sandon has given you some excellent information on your items.

What references, die variety books and procedures are you using to authenticate them? And I doubt you could even see the die indicators given the condition of most the coins and the usual poor photos. Even then a layperson can be easily fooled by some of the counterfeits.
And with that coin it would need to be submitted to a TPG for attribution in order to add any collector value, and in such a poor condition you would likely spend more on the submittal that it would be worth in the end. That's the reality of the Etsy coins, and most of the ones on ebay.
I am not sure what dprince is doing ? From the bits and pieces I have heard him talking about it sounds like he looks for odd die characteristics on cheap old coins. Then resells them ungraded with his higher priced evaluation.
Am I close on this guess dprince1138 ?

I wasn’t tagged on your question, which would have sent me a notification, but I’m glad I saw your comment and obviously HAD to answer you. I’m doing better than I should, but coins and collecting have been put to the wayside for quite awhile now. I fully intend on picking up where I left off when the opportunity presents itself. Sorry for not chiming in since probably around a year ago or so ???, but it makes me really feel good when I see a great guy like you, and the great connections I’ve made here on NGC, ask about me. Thanks again JP and take care buddy!!👍
Well take care of yourself Greg and pop in any time you need a laugh.

Details coin with all that damage. Not worth any premium in my book.
