  1. Ya you all be safe out there. We loose power sometimes. They always call in extra crews from different states. I have seen trucks from Pennsylvania and South Carolina, and all over when this happens. A Nor'easter is just like a hurricane only in the winter. We can even have thunder snow also which is real cool so you never know. The last storm we had like this was in 2005 3 feet of snow and I could not see the neighbors house across the street visibility was 15 feet maybe. And other times they predict a mega storm and we get a little blow. Ya never know what's going to happen around here with water all around us ?
  2. Going to have to get a bunch of coin rolls and hunker down. Wet snow from the ocean can make a mess with 75MPH winds it can be a real chiller at 20 degrees. Lots of old retired people live here. I am a hoping we will have power through it.
  3. A partially caped die would put those impressions on the obverse.
  4. Does anyone here collect these new dollar coins ? I am not a big fan of the Sacagawea or these President coins.
  5. Ya I am also looking at this a lot and it looks like a lot of the rubbed high spots are just that the toning has wore off more than heavy wear. Mike is correct there are some good looking hits on the back that will knock down the high grade but the feathers. leaves and dental are in pretty good shape . I am going to say it is a MS 60-62 . That's my opinion for what it is worth.
  6. My brain hurts just thinking about new coins. Just like hog I will wait. Heck I waited 36 years before I bought 1 ASE
  7. Ya know I love a good DD as much as the next guy but some of these new ones are just out in left field. If you can't see it in your hand it is not even going to pay for a cup of coffee. and that's that
  8. Some more albums came in today. And one more on the way a little winter project for cold February nights
  9. All the best to you and your family Hog. I hope everyone is getting better. I also have had to search a lot of rolls for 09,10,11 and 12's to get my 2 books full . I like these books state and park quarters they only ask for one - P and one - D in the beginning top left .After that it is just the reverse of the coin anyway ...LOL With these books I can maybe build another set now that I have found a few more of those tough ones. Gettysburg and Vicksburg 2011 are the killers for me.
  10. That's kinda cool. What I find even cooler is that looks like a copper 1943 and no one has said anything about it ? Is it a steel that is just rust looking TJ ?
  11. I think some people keep them in the back yard. I just found this poor looking 41 in a roll. To bad.
  12. Welcome Chester, it is your choice in the end. You will always get good advice from the members here. I just got a news letter saying the prices may go up this year also. I have some wonderful raw coins. I just can't bring myself to sending in a coin that will be worth less after the cost of grading it. I just put them in 2x2 flips and stand them on the shelf. They look nice and the money I save goes into buying coins already slabed .
  13. I keep this web link in my favorites just in case one rolls across my desk LOL.
  14. I have found that it is very hard to find Ultra Cameo before 1964 Cameo yes. Not imposable just hard to find UC in earlier years.
  15. I do TJ, it is not the best example you may ever see it is after all a VF25 but it works for me.
  16. ? Why would someone counterfeit a Nickel . But Henning's did.
  17. Ya Lem ,Is the head honcho for nickels. Like so many other members here you all deserve a big hand for all the knowledge and help you all do for others. I had already been getting into collecting Jefferson's as kind of a tribute to my dad. Lem's collection after seeing it has inspired me to no end. As long as I can keep getting the good deals I will try to keep going on the sets. I don't think I can get to the heights of some of you gentleman but it will still be fun.
  18. They are both very nice coins .I love the1938 I got a good deal on that and the 2013-p shocked me when I saw the average price range. I am not sure why some coins are priced the way they are it always makes me wonder? The price jump from one grade to the next after 64 is baffling on some coins. But still I got a really great deal on that MS67
  19. Thanks, I am trying to keep the collection MS+FS that makes it a little more challenging to say the least.
  20. Some more additions came in today. I am kinda happy with both of these coins, First year and both FS and my first MS 67 in a regular strike nickel.
