  1. I think I found the problem. Its pretty windy here today. Took the phone lines down also. Power lines completely down. Phone line still hanging but looks like shes got some strain on her.
  2. Anyone else enjoying Christmas in the dark. Lol. Our electric went off a couple hrs ago. Said wont be on till 11 tonight.
  3. I agree that is just strike doubling. But I think that just may be a clash. I see what you are seeing. I may be wrong but it sure looks like a minor clash. Some better pics would be great to tell for sure.
  4. Merry Christmas. Love the shirt JP. I got a set of metric crow foot wrenches from the old lady and kids. Also got the 1950 D quarter from the old lady but i got it as an early gift. I also got it thanks to another great friend who had something to do with it. Heres the crow foot wrenches. Been needing these for years.
  5. I agree with Mike. Looks like someone was playing around with a brazing tipped torch or something. Hard to say for sure what they were trying to do. But its for sure PMD.
  6. Merry Christmas to you also my good friend. Thank you for the kind words. Its great to have the privilege to get to share the forum with you also and the rest of the wonderful people on here. One of the greatest things I get to do everyday is talk with everyone on this forum. I cant wait to get the chance to get on here and see whats been posted and chat with everyone. I usually try to think of things to have an excuse to engage in conversation with everyone. I really enjoy talking and learning from some of the greatest people ive ever talked to. Merry Christmas to everyone.
  7. Thank you my friend. Congrats on the $5 canadian. You will have to post it in the water cooler or something so we can have a look at it.
  8. @Lem Eis gonna be in that #1 nickel spot before long. I just know it. Im cheering in his corner. Hope you do it here soon brother! You got some of the nicest nickels most of us has ever laid eyes on.
  9. Thats gonna be the ones that get me on the Washington quarters. The 1950 d/s and the 1950 s/d. They dont come very cheap at all. Just 2 more very expensive coins I cant afford. If they are doing those 2 then wonder why not the rest of the numerous RPMs.
  10. I agree with Coinbuf. Its a fun way to show people my coins and i like looking at others. Its also an easy way for me to complete a full set. I can look and see what all ones I have and what grades. Can also see what ones I need. And can see pictures of them without having to dig them out of the safe each time. There is no way possible Id ever be able to compete with the players in the top spots but there is a few guys got around the same caliber set as I do and we keep jumping back and forth in front of each other. Kinda fun to still do that even though there is no way of winning.
  11. Its very sad some greedy person will completely ruin a beautiful piece of history to feed their money addiction. I like money to but id rather go out and work for it instead of destroying a beautiful coin over 100 years old get it. Breaks my heart to see these mint state coins getting artifical toned.
  12. Ive noticed that on Lincoln cents also. Cant remember the dates I was looking at.
  13. Im still learnind as well but Ive learned it is caused by reactions from the coin exposed to different elements. For example some coins thats been in albums tone where they been exposed to chemicals in the paper from the album. Or could be certain things in the air that the coin is exposed to. Chemicals from surfaces the coin has laid on reacting to the metal. These are just things Ive read. Someone with more knowledge will be on soon to better answer your question. But to sum it up its mostly chemical reactions due to exposure to certain elements and conditions. I also read that humidid climates also play a big role in toning. Wether the source I read is correct or not I cannot say.
  14. Good find brother!! Looks like theres several red Lincolns in there too just from the pic. It will be a blast searching thru those. Very nice Peso also. I love the color of it.
  15. Still a very sweet contribution. I can only dream of someday owning one of these.
  16. Those are some of the nicest Walkers I ever laid eyes on.
  17. I found one yesterday that someone has plated. Also found one someone counterstamped with a free mason stamp.
  18. They have some very cool designs. I really like them alot. Im maybe thinking about trying to piece together a set of some kind. I really like the half marks. Im still undecided how im gonna go still yet. Be a little while down the road. Gonna focus on the US set Im working on for a while.
  19. Congratulations on your set!!! That is very cool. I cant wait to feel the joy of what it feels like to complete a set. Are you planning on starting on a different denomination now? Maybe a smaller and easier one or maybe even another challenging set? Im very happy for you my friend. Would love to see that set. Is it posted in the registry?
  20. I was almost definately positive. I almost didnt even post it. I told old feller I would just to give him a piece of mind
  21. A friend of mine has a colonial issue coin and he thinks its counterfeit but wanted to ask me to confirm his suspicions. After looking at it Im almost 99.9% sure it is counterfeit also. But just for the sake of the other 0.1% I told him I would post it and get it confirmed by the experts on here. Thats the best pics he said his phone would take but I think those are good enough to see the lousy details to make a confirmation. Looks like a crappy counterfeit at that. So am I correct on calling this counterfeit?
  22. I missed out again. Didnt know until it was to late. Im always a day late and a dollar short.
  23. Another Christmas present from my loving family. They been really good to me this Christmas. The old lady has a better eye for coins than I do. In hand I think this one is very beautiful. It has great lustre. This is one of the finest MS66 quarters I own. Ive got a couple MS67 quarters that dont look near as nice. They let me have it early because we was gonna have our Christmas celebration tomorrow due to certain reasons and I have to work tomorrow. I told them Im very happy and proud to add this one to my set.
