  1. I think i can get by without having to. I been thinking about it for a few days now but looks like weather gonna get better next week down here.
  2. I guess we supposed to get 4 more inches snow tomorrow night. I sure wish it would quit. Havent worked a single day this week and my unemployment is all messed up. May be selling a few of my W quarters here in a day or two. Hope not but sometimes gotta make some sacrifices. If I do I may post some on NGC sales thread if anyone may be interested. Im gonna hold out long as I can.
  3. I love hearing stories like these. Very cool when people make finds like that. Now Im ready to find my treasure but I must be hunting the same places as @Woods020 The oldest thing Ive found was a 193× wheatie. The last digit was worn off. It was one of those rare DDO parking lot specials.
  4. Is there ways to know if a coin has been sent to CAC and didnt get a bean?
  5. Very true. Lol I walked right into that one.
  6. I take that back about the crashes. This last storm that hit Ky before this one I seen around 100 or better but I didnt have to drive. My boss was at the wheel.
  7. Hit some black ice up in your old home country that gave me nightmares. Up in Pennsylvania. I was driving a 2 wheel drive S10 and people was sliding off the road all around me. It looked like wet blacktop but it was dangerous ice. No snow in sight. Never seen so many crashes in my life. People hitting the rescue vehicles. We just creeped through about 100 miles of it then hit dry blacktop again. I was a nervous wreck. People wouldnt slow down. That was in winter 2001. Maybe late 2000.
  8. I bet that was a tough trip thru those mountains. Wouldnt be as bad if it werent for all the non drivers.
  9. It was peppering it down. Hard to tell in that pic where the tress was hanging over the road. Here a better one.
  10. We had around 4 inches on when we took that picture. There was about 4 more when we woke up.
  11. Yea we got hit pretty hard. We got out took a little ride around 10 that night. Love ridind around in the snow at night.
  12. I thought I was a dummie coin collector. Didnt know there was more of us out there. i dont feel so bad now.
  13. We was supposed to but we got snowed in today. I actually had to get out and run the old lady to work. Roads were to bad for her. We got around 8 inches here. They usually wont let us out with that much snow on the roads.
  14. Those are very cool coin holders. I may have to look into getting a couple of those for my raw ones.
  15. I may have drank a couple fruitcakes in my day then. Our counties used to be dry. We had to go to a bootlegger to keep from driving to the next county over. They have since gone wet.
  16. I never knew it was gonna come this far. Lol. Im glad it did. I enjoy when everyone comes together and has discussions like this. I learn a whole lot and I enjoy talking to everyone.
  17. It was 5 different slabs in a set. 1 coin per slab. The 5 different designs. Be pretty neat if they made a 5 coin holder for them. They did at one time for the older proof sets. Ive seen them on the 60s SMS sets.
  18. That would be neat if it did. I put together 2 full sets of 2019. One in NGC MS65 and a set NGC MS66. Still need 2 more for a 2020 set of NGC MS65. I have a few raw ones also. Figured be cool to pass it down to my kids one of these days. Or maybe grand kids. They will have a really good start to a collection.
  19. Thank you all for the replies. I didnt know that. It had me stumped for a few. That makes sense to me now. Espically with the bean on it. Ill probably never put none of those together myself if I can keep from it. But its awsome there are people out there who do compete in a category like that.
  20. Ive been watching the Great Collections auction tonight and seen an 1882 O Morgan in poor condition with 33 bids and the price $160.00. Then right below it is one in MS63 with no bids. What am I missing here? Im trying to figure it out. I looked the poor coin over. It is what it says it is as far as I can tell.
  21. Thank you very much. You have encouraged me to look into this farther. Im definately gonna do some more research. Thank you for taking the time to look at it and give me that info.
  22. I think its a very cool piece. Congrats on adding it to your collection. Got a cool meaning behind it.
  23. This one may be to bad shape to identify. One side is really bad. I would love to know what that wheel is on it if anyone knows. Also what country and time period it was from. Once I find the basics Im gonna search and see what people used them and other history of that time. The weight is 2.180 grams and with right at 10mm.
