  1. Im just a bad shot. Lol. I use a 22 quite often also but I like waiting till the leaves are off and they are on the ground. The under brush is bad around here. Hard to get a open shot while they are cutting. Shotgun helps alot. I also enjoy using a shotgun when they are cutting.
  2. Exactly it my friend. Lol. The pawn shop around here got the best of both worlds. Squirrel season is in here and eye balling all the coins there was just a bonus.
  3. I was looking at some while back at a local pawn shop while I was looking for 12 guage shells. That place is way over priced but I still like to browse the coins. I noticed all the Columbians they had were very darkly toned. They had around 10 or so of them and they were all like that.
  4. What I dont understand is they will knock on my neighbors door but not ours. Theres one lady who will knock but the others will not. We will all be home and they will still just throw them down on the front steps. We got a package last week and my son was watching out the window and saw the driver kick my dog. I should have reported him but I didnt know which one it was. Im gonna have my son point him out next time he comes and Im gonna have some words with him. That little dog wouldnt hurt a flea. Its the sweetest little dog ever. That was uncalled for. Id understand if it was a mean dog or something but its harmless. He didnt think noone was home to see him. It just walked up hoping for a pettin and got a kickin instead. The woman driver who usually comes throws him out a dog treat everytime she comes and gives him a pettin. Shes always more professional about getting us our packages also.
  5. Id need to find me a good coin badger. The possums around here keep showing up empty handed.
  6. I like them both. Sometimes I find great deals on Ebay. But gotta watch who you buy from on there. Theres several very good sellers but a few bad actors. Sometimes I can get better prices on GC. It depends on who is bidding aginst me and how bad they want it. Some of the nicest coins in my collection came from GC. I like how professional they are. Ive always got my coins very quickly and have had no problems. I usually pick the cheapest shipping option and I have them within 3 days from them shipping. And I live on the other side of the country from them.
  7. Anyone see this? The very last type 1 silver eagle sold for $85,000. That blows my mind. Theres a article about it on google from coinweek.com.
  8. Our Fed Ex man wont knock on the door or nothing. He just lays them on the steps and the dogs usually get them if we're not home to watch for him. My sons tux for the scholl prom got torn to shreds a couple years ago.
  9. Ever notice how in Illinois its illegal to carry a side arm. And Chicago is one of the cities with the highest crime rate. They need to smarten up and let people defend themseleves from the crooks. The crooks will still carry if its illegal or not. Its the innocent people who cant protect themselves who are suffering from this unjust law. Sorry I kinda went off topic friends. Please forgive me. In no way do I mean for this post to be political. It just burns my hide to see innocent people become victims because theyre not allowed to defend themselves.
  10. Darn right. I pack mine everywhere I go. If crooks see a 44 mag hanging on the side of your hip, it will usually make them think twice.
  11. I only collect the ones the US Mint releases. Just the proofs and reverse proofs. I may start collecting the uncirculated ones later on.
  12. On the reverse proofs they were selling them indivudually. Starting last year they put them all in one set like they do the regular proofs. I really liked when they sold them indivudally. They had some cool facts and pictures on the boxes about the innovation of that state. Must've been covid or something that caused them to stop doing that.
  13. Thats why I really like them. I can afford to buy them. So far Ive got all the proofs and reverse proofs in the mint packaging. Been buying them straight from the mint soon as they came out. I plan on keeping the whole series in the OGP.
  14. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience. I really enjoyed viewing all the pictures. Ive never had the oppurtunity to attend any shows and that was very exciting. It gave me a great idea of what to expect when I finally get to go. Thank you and congratulations on your awsome additions you got to bring home with you. Those were some very nice coins. Like Zadok said, I could almost put myself there from your well documented experience and great pictures. Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed your post.
  15. I really like it to. Its a cool design. I enjoy bluegrass music. I was jamming out to a little Ralph Stanley on my way home from work today.
  16. I get the proof and reverse proof both. I havent got any of the uncirculated ones yet. I may in the future.
  17. I really like the innovation dollars. Thats one of the only issues I plan on getting every release from the mint.
  18. I agree. In bad need of some blacktop. All of our highways are getting rough. Alot of our state backroads are very rough. Alot of our county maintained roads look like goat paths.
  19. 65 is in good shape. All the bad flooding was east of there
  20. Dont be concerned. Ive been at it for a while now and I still get mine out all the time and admire them. I like to enjoy my coins instead of locking them away and never looking at them. Thats the reason every time I get one certified I go for the scratch resistant holder. Cause I know I cant leave them alone.
  21. I had a really good friend help me out. I also been hauling some scrap metal and doing some side work. Doing mechanic work.
