  1. Happy Birthday Kurt!!! I celebrated mine last weekend. I didnt get to get a gift yet but Im planning on getting myself another GW for my set here in a couple weeks. Im holding out till I can find the right one.
  2. I just hope the coin comes in. The last one I got from GC got lost in the mail. The postal service is unable to find it. The 1944 D I shared last time. I sent GC a message to see if I can do an insurance claim through them or If I have to doit through the postal service.
  3. May be something on my end. Ill try using my sons laptop tomorrow and see if it will let me do it with it.
  4. I tried logging off and logging back in. Still wont work. I recently got a 1941 large serif S quarter I was gonna share but it wont let me. If it dosent get lost or stolen in the mail like my last quarter from GC did.
  5. Has anyone had trouble posting pictures? I tried to post photos of my most recent quarter I bought from GC in the Most Recent US thread. Everytime i go to load files, click on the pictures, and then hit add it takes me back to the home screen. It is very annoying. Im just wondering if its only me having trouble or if anyone else is experiencing this problem to.
  6. Sadly Im going to have to take this coin off my list. It got lost or stolen in the mail. First time Ive had any problems. I was very excited to. I really liked the looks of this one and was excited to put it in with the rest. I got hold of the postal service and they are unable to locate it. I sent GC a message to see what I have to do to make an insurance claim. I got another from GC last week. Hopeit dont turn up missing. Hope someone dont start stealing the shipments knowing they are coins.
  7. Exactly. Alot of the guys who scored lower than me have more years experience than Ive been born. Ive only been collecting for around 4 years or so. I just talk alot. .
  8. You definately give great advice. I enjoy reading your post. Ive learned a whole lot reading your replies to other peoples questions. Even though I dont reply to most post Im still reading them and the knowledge is sinking in my brain. Mine says Im a seasoned veteran but I still consider myself a newbie. Ive learned a whole lot in the past few years Ive been collecting though. I still have a whole lot more to learn, but Im learning more every day. Finding this forum and joining it was the best thing that every happened to me in coin collecting. Ive met some very wonderful people and gained some very valuable knowledge from them.
  9. I been working on some of those myself. I started with 1967 first. I got the quarter, dime, and nickel in NGC MS67 cameo. The half aint gonna be to bad to get but the cent is gonna be tough. Every one Ive seen in MS 67 cameo was in the $400 range. May get lucky and find one cheaper in an auction or something.. Good luck on your sets.
  10. Not fooled with it yet. Been very busy lately. When i do get a break i been bout to lazy. Ill check it out one of these days.
  11. After a few months I finally got to make a purchase. Glad to see work picking up and the bills caught up where I can start working on my silver quarter set again. I got this one from GC and upgraded the 1944 D slot. PCGS MS66
  12. Looks like someone was playing around and ground it down. Or it got stuck in a machine or something of that nature and encountered alot of friction that wore it down. Post mint damage.
  13. Same here. Thats why it came as a suprise. I didnt have enough in my bank account at the time to cover it and it over drawed my account. Thats why i was tore up when i started this thread. I thought it was all took care of and wasnt expecting the charge.
  14. I got it straightened out. I was actually in the wrong on that one. It says on the fine print they will adjust the charge if needed. I was tore up and started that thread without thinking. I really shouldnt have. Now that I know that can happen i make sure i got some extra money in there in case when i make a submission.
  15. Im in the enviromental damage camp also. Ive found several of them metal detecting and several had that look after I cleaned them up and put them back in circulation.
  16. Ive got one identical to that one that I found in my change. Cool to see another found struck from the same die. Even though its a minor clash I still think its neat. I put mine in a cardboard coin flip and put it up in my saved coins.
  17. I havent sent them no where yet. Im being patient about it for now. When I do ill probably just set the bid at zero and see what happens. The ones I have arent very valuable anyways. Im even talking to a feller about doing some trading if he wants any of the ones I have. Lifes been very hectic here lately and havent had much chance to go through them. Its starting to slow down a bit now where I can take a breath and get back into it again. I started this thread to explore some options. Ill probably send the ones in I dont trade here before to long. Im not in a real big hurry. I figured id go with GC and start the bidding at zero and be happy with whatever I get. Then use the money to buy the ones I need for my set of silver Washington quarters. Id really love to finish that set by the end of this year if Im able. Im getting into those harder dates now. Thank you everyone for all the replies. Its really helped me alot.
  18. I ended up hanging on to them for now. I was just exploring some options. Im eventually going to.
  19. Congrats on the new daughter in law and the new additions in the collection. I bet it feels good to be back to your hometown. I know I get homesick if I stay out of town for a couple weeks. It would drive me crazy to move to a different state.
  20. Morgans are very common. If you walk into a pawn shop that sells silver you will see several. Theres a pawn shop in my very small hometown that has a bin of worn Morgans with literally hundreds of them all piled up. Those in the pile are just worth the silver content. They have several nicer ones for a little higher price. There was over 650 million minted in total. There are thousands of them still out there in uncirculated condition. If you want to see some in person just stop at a coin shop, pawn shop, or somewhere that buys silver and you will see several. Even though they are common I still really like them. They are very beautiful and one of the fewer older coins you can buy an uncirculated example at a reasonable price.
  21. Looks amazing in the pictures. Im jealous. Congrats my friend. Very nice.
  22. It took some hits and got damaged after it left the mint. PMD or Post Mint Damage.
