Actually the dealer can put his/her personal stickers on the bottom of slab and not directly right over the hologram , they say “No room” then make a smaller sticker so it fits at the bottom of the slab … Common sense isn’t rocket science !

Not on that slab , those are more tougher type on hologram on the back if he peels sticker off slowly it should be okay , ( Be careful when using any goo-off or other chemicals trying wipe off sticker residue off on the  holograms) I seen someone literally rub the hologram off using acetone or goo-gone or something . Just simply use a little dish soap and little water wipe it off …. Acetone would be a big no-no to use on plastic , pour acetone in a plastic cup you’ll see it dissolve the plastic. Perhaps Denature alcohol would probably be better safer solution to use , I also use denature alcohol to dip all my raw coins in when I first buy them to remove finger prints and so on before I put them in 2x2 … And NO denature alcohol will not harm toning on coins it evaporates very quickly as well , I’ve also dipped a lot of copper coins in denature alcohol as well with no ill effects to the coin

Some of the newer modern NGC holograms are more stronger can take that sticker on back , also some years NGC put hologram on the inside of “some” slabs for a short period of time . I think the newer NGC slabs on today’s market has hologram on the  inside of the slab ? I’m not real sure I have to check , but I know there was a period they put hologram on inside of slab and switch back to putting the hologram on outside of slab again . 

it was the older hologram fatty holders like in your first picture that suffered what I called “dealer sticker syndrome” they got damaged easily I guess dealers back then didn’t care or didn’t have enough common sense to stop putting stickers on holograms , but fast forward to today some dealer see these old fatty NGC holders have a collectors market and are appreciated now . They try to sell them for little more premium than what the coin is worth , uh! Nope ! Not if that hologram severely ruined on the back Discount it ! When your buying . Buying old slabs is like buying antiques would you buy an ugly antique at a high price ? 

@Hoghead515 this Photo is not mine ! I didn’t have time to look in my collection but I do have 2 of them with gold embossed sticker hologram on back of NGC slab they are starting to get harder to find now every once in awhile a few pop up for sale 

@Hoghead515 do you have any of the old fatty holders with gold foil hologram on the back of slab ? Those are getting harder and harder to find … lately I been hunting down the old fatty holders with no bar code light green labels they only made that style green labels for short period of time … I also buy any fatty holder I can find in world coins which is a little more rarer seeing world coins in NGC fatty holders … I’m picky also the hologram on back of slab must be fully intact and not ripped off if it is ripped off I’ll discount price of the coin another 5% when I’m buying from a dealer I’ll point out the damaged hologram some say it ain’t nothing no big deal , to me it’s part of the package buying when buying a coin just like how a collector rather have a mint package for a coin purchase from the mint 

I was hoping someday that NGC would go back to retro “fatty” holders I still like them to this day they were pretty strong holder hard to scratch them too , I wouldn’t mind if ANACS went back to retro white holders …I’m not a big fan of Retro black NGC holders 

@J P Mashoke down in south it was different , my wife and I took a trip down to North Carolina my Oldest son arrived back at Camp lejeune in Jacksonville N.C , after being in Japan for a whole year we haven’t seen him all year he’s in the Marine Corps he was being awarded Sergeant E-6 rank,  he want me there to see it , I didn’t hesitate to drive down we arrived I noticed a lot of stores people wore mask but inside restaurants waiting in line nobody wore mask . inside out hotel there was no mask policy either, on the Marine base there was no policy either it was not mandated but inside buildings it was strongly suggested to wear a mask at all times until you go outside there was no “6 feet rule either” after my son’s sworn oath ceremony was over the Gunnery sergeant and Master Gunny sergeant came up to me with no mask gave me plague for my wife and me with our names on them …

Then they shook my hand like a real person would do at an important time like that they “thanked me for making a Marine” I’ve never heard that one before . People Join marine corps for discipline and honor and dignity and faithfulness that where Marines are made . Not back at home in the bedroom making babies 🤣

in Pennsylvania a hand shake was highly forbidden during Covid19 
 

Up here in Pennsylvania mostly all restaurants were closed to take out only we had wear a mask when they did open on limited capacity we had to wear mask until we were seated and had to actually wait until we could eat then we were allowed to remove the mask and 6 feet rule was strongly mandated anyone caught breaking rules in store not wearing mask law enforcement was sometimes called to escort stubborn people out of the stores I used see all kinds of stubborn people try to fight with police when being told to leave store actually pressed down on ground and handcuffed ! Geeze was all that drama really worth it ? Simply put a mask on !!  

At one time I collected a lot of graded buffalos some of the earlier years get tough and pretty expensive in higher grades , I had about 3/4 of my set completed in MS63-MS66+ grades I sold it to Another collector back in 2013 when the anniversary of buffalo nickels were hot property back then  … Which I’m glad I gotten it sold because now a days it is tough sometimes to find someone who wants to buy graded buffalos or Liberty V nickels , Lincoln cents as well and a lot of the newer collectors are into the modern collector’s market … Seems like if it don’t have any silver or gold in it they don’t want it 

Most of time I see “SP” specimen used in graded world coins or exonumia (medals) and off struck metal die trial pieces get “SP” . Looks like PCGS made a typo error … 

I also have one US issued 2016-W gold Mercury dime has that “SP” 70 grade by NGC

It doesn’t hurt to make offers either , most of the time if I see a coin that I really like I’ll make offer less 15%-20% than High retail price. Sometimes even lower for certain coins that aren’t in high demands but I want them to complete my collection set , I should  be able to haggle a good price on coins that been sitting around that haven’t been in demand for a while . If dealer says No , oh well his loss his coin can sit there collecting dust ! Move on to the next dealer most coins are common on market you shouldn’t have pay high price for them they are a dime dozen can find them anywhere grading is matter of another subject only way you’re going to get good at grading is study and study and study coin by looking that them and compare them Grading online photos

I wouldn’t know about Alabama . But I knew when we had a deer camp in Mayport PA (Jefferson county) we had Amish around us they amazed me everytime with their handy work we wanted a wooden shed built behind our camp they had that thing done in 2 days !!! All with hand tools no lie ! It would of took me a whole week or so to build that’s even cheating using power tools , They even transported 2 full cords of wood dumped and stacked in 1 day … only thing I disapprove of the Amish is their puppy mill breeding . They are responsible for a lot of the puppy mill breeding it’s not a healthy subject to to talk about

Yes , us numismatic collectors hate FAKES ! there actually a forum on here from NGC graders explaining some the fakes they see come through the grading process , these graders looks at thousands and thousands more than you and I would have ever looked at in our life time . The graders are pretty good at spotting Fake coins VS the real thing 

@Greenstang it is possible it’s a Guatemala 2 reales they look a little differently than regular Spanish colony 2 reales KM 51 

@Yves85 I haven’t look at a whole lot of Spanish reales , I do collect a lot of old world coins though I often see Spanish reales for sale , back then the dies were casted and hand engraved so no dies were perfect and no 2 dies look even close to the same also the planchets were may have been casted as well back then. You’ll be surprised how much counterfeiting goes on in our coin collecting hobby . You’d think they would make an expensive “fake” coin to pass on to make a lot money off it , that’s not always the case they even make low end “common” fake coins as well … I don’t suspect your coin as a fake looks legit to me I mean who would take the time make a fake then bury it under the ground ? But again Spanish reales aren’t really my background of collecting I don’t own any in my collection either but I have handled a few and looked at them in the past

I like it straight out of the can however my wife is little picky about it I rinse it out as well mix in a little brown sugar to sweeten it up . 
 

my great grandmother always put beer in her homemade stuffing during thanksgiving she said it was an old German tradition to put beer in a lot foods back then , my grandmother did , my father did and now to this day on thanksgiving I still dump beer in my homemade stuffing , I’ve had guest come over my house and ask me “did you put beer in this” I simply reply “yes , we are German and we love our beer”

I read an article awhile back about GENI grading standard it was confusing how their grading scale worked 1-100 , but I also seen some MS63-MS65 as well . But I do notice some have like AU99 or AU97 graded on left side of the slab sometimes or XF80 strange number grading I have hard time finding any more information about GENI but they are there and collectors over there are submitting and buying graded GENI coins in holders

@Quintus Arrius I’m not really sure how their grading standard are but if you look in picture on left side of GENI slabbed coin you’ll notice strange grades like XF99 and AU99 and so on I read an article I can’t find it anymore explaining their grading scale 1-100 … but I also notice some MS63 -MS65 and so as well kinda confusing a little

@VKurtB sorry about the german 3rd reich coin these pictures aren’t mine they were on net . I don’t support nazis however I do have few german coins with the Swastika in my collection only for numismatic reasons it was a time in German history it did happen 

@VKurtB since you have experience in PA actions , I never been to one yet someday I do want to go to one I was once told in order for me to do any live bidding at Pa auction I must obtain an Auctioneer license ? I know few dealers who bought some nice coins at estate auctions at great prices.

@VKurtB Have you did any bidding on French live auctions lately ? Last year I just gotten back into French auctions I came across some newer slabs by a French grading company called GENI. I looked them up seems like they just came out few years ago I read a little I think they have a grading scale 1-100 . It’s a matter of time before their slabbing service takes off over there . I haven’t bought any of their slabbed coins I mostly prefer my world coins raw I’m 50/50 on raw and slabbed world coins 

@Quintus Arrius you’re a good guy . Have you seen the movie the Mule ? With Clint Eastwood in it he worked for drug cartel doing deliveries he made a lot money doing so . You could do that ask for your payment to be made in the finest known gold roosters… but in the end of movie he winded up in jail (true story) so I don’t know if it’s all worth going to jail just for gold roosters
