  1. I'm with Coinbuf on all counts here. There may be some who attach a value to that sticker, but I'm not one of them. But, to be fair, I hate all of the stickers. Even CAC. Thankfully, CAC doesn't sticker World coins, so they don't impact my collecting in any way.
  2. I'm not surprised at those prices, Mike. I'd imagine that they'd be some of the more popular sets of that series. Thank you for the info, though!! I may have to check those out.
  3. I'm with Bob on all counts. The first photos are so bad that they're of no use. The last two photos are a heavily damaged coin with no value.
  4. No problem, Dustyn. And thank you for realizing that what I said was to help you be successful here going forward. Not everyone who has come through here takes feedback well. Thank you for that
  5. Congrats, guys!!! Well deserved all around!!! I remember when I won my two big ones......it was quite a feeling!!! I'm so glad that you all get to experience that thrill for yourselves. I'm very happy for all of you!!!
  6. Bsshog is likely right on in his assessment, but since you're new, I just want to give you a tip......for us to properly evaluate coins from photos, we're going to need much better photos than what you provided going forward. A basic rule of thumb would be clear, crisp head on photos of the obverse and reverse of your coin. Just a tip for going forward is all. Welcome to the boards!
  7. Those should work just fine, William. I think you'll be in good shape there. Your sheet protectors shouldn't trash the coins, either. Also, the Franklin Mint packaging will add another layer of protection to the coins. You should be fine. BTW.......Have you seen a German Democratic Republic Coin Sets of All Nations? I may have to see if I can seek one of those out........I'm loving the DDR lately.
  8. Was there a 1964-D SMS Peace Dollar anywhere nearby to go with it? Oops.....you said silver dollar!! What an i-d-i-o-t I am today!! I really need to finish shaking this cold
  9. Ah....my old nemesis. I loathe lake effect snow (and snow in genera) if it accumulates enough to have to be dealt with!! Man, am I living in the wrong place for that!!! But any place I'd actually want to live in has a snow problem.....I'm pretty weird there. But the advantages (to me. Someone else may feel very differently) far outweigh the snow.
  10. You have a good thing going with those Jeffersons, JP, and you're getting some screaming deals! I think you've got a good system down to find deals......it sounds pretty similar to my early East German hunting I'm doing now, and I've been getting great deals on them. Admittedly, all of my coins are raw, but there are precious few deals to be found in graded early East German, let me tell you! I think you've found a great project....keep going!
  11. My sick with a head cold early East German streak is continuing!!! This one was another killer deal.....I'm hoping I can complete my rebuilding of my collection before people start moving back into this area and the prices go back up:
  12. It's a nice, simple design that looks good even in F12. There's something to be said for a simple design like that, I have to say. I've recently began rebuilding my early East German collection that I had to sell for a car repair when I was finishing up my Ed.D. Those designs are quite simple, but I find them very appealing in their simplicity. I feel the exact same way about your Irish Crown, Jack.
  13. Update-the1972-S Kennedy Half Dollar in PF 69* Cameo has sold and the link has been removed. I've also added some new raw coins and lowered the prices on all of the NGC graded coins I have left in this thread. Thanks So Much!!
  14. I understand how you feel, Anthony. Many people like coins with history. I do myself. I've collected ancient Roman coins and I actively collect Canadian and German coins, with a particular affinity for East German coins. While what I collect is definitely more recent than Morgan Dollars, it definitely is historical. I think many collectors come into our hobby through a love of history and, often, a particular area of history.
  15. Russia definitely doesn't have a great track record. But I'd take the Soviets over the Czars any day. That's just my personal choice, however. Others may feel differently.
  16. Definitely. But isn't it always a good day to read some coin books??
  17. So true. Those 2021 Morgans got a lot of people riled up about the older Morgan and Peace Dollars and prices have been insane! It's been good for me as some areas I'm very interested in have had much less interest, such as early East German coins. I've gotten some killer deals on those lately. A few years ago, those were very hot as far as world coins go, but not so right now. Which is just fine with me!
  18. Be sure to let us know how it does at ANACS, Greg. I, for one, would love to know how it grades out.
  19. Man, that's just awful Hog. The weather down in your region has been crazy this season.....I'm glad you and your crew made it home safe, my friend. And I feel for anyone who got into a crash......winter conditions can be just evil when you're trying to drive. I'm a native New Yorker and I work really hard to avoid driving in snow.....it scares the c*ap out of me!! A big advantage for the job I start on the 17th is it's entirely work from home.....I can avoid that to a high degree now. To anyone impacted by this....please, stay safe.
  20. I'm with Woods.....AU and definitely not PL. However, in looking at your pictures, it does looked cleaned to me because of the haze around the devices on both sides, but most noticeably on the reverse. When I worked at the coin shop, I saw a lot of cleaned Morgans with that look. It could be because of the photos and the coin could look very different if I were to have it in hand, but going on the photos, I think the coin has been cleaned.
  21. Man, Mark does some great work, Coinbuf!! Like William said, those dark copper coins like that are quite difficult to photograph, but the photos Mark did are excellent!
  22. That's what I was thinking, Roger. The Russian Empire was a pretty terrible place to live for most of the people who lived there. Thanks for the answer
  23. That's a good point, Mike. To the OP......I've noticed that you've posted more than a few of these Imgur links. Most of us on here will not click on those due to the risk of malware. It would probably be good for you to start posting photos directly to the board if you want us to actually look at them.
  24. Yep. I hate to say it, Floyd, but you definitely have a fake. There are many, many fakes of this issue floating around out there.
  25. I remember hearing that story somewhere years ago.....that was one of the absolute craziest numismatics related stories I've ever heard, if not the absolute craziest. I may have even heard it from you, first Roger.....I can't remember. It all runs together after a while! Do you happen to know what the penalty would have been if these employees were caught? It being the Russian Empire, I'd imagine it would have been death but I've been wrong before. Without a doubt, these naked mint workers were taking a huge risk.
