  1. Hi Bob!! Thanks for that!!! I've actually tried the Canadian quarter album listed there and I had to return it. The holes were cut to the 24.3 MM size of a U.S. Quarter. Canadian quarters are 23.44 MM. It's not a huge difference, but enough of one that my coins spun in the album's holes, which was quite discouraging. But I thank you so much for looking that up for me, my friend. ~Tom
  2. It is here in New York as well!! Happy New Year to you, too, Greg!!
  3. Looks like the first post of 2022 is mine!! Yay!!! Happy New Year everyone!!
  4. I'm going to have to do some homework myself, my friend. I am unsure if I'm even going to proceed at this point......I need to find out if I can actually afford all of the coins that would be required. It's not widely known, but a few of the date/mint mark combinations on some early West German coins are actually quite scarce and expensive.....even more so when you start talking proofs. So, I need to see if any of these rarities fall into the 5 mark series and how expensive they are if they do. I have a single proof 5 mark right now, a 1974-D (Munich Mint). I was just throwing ideas out there. But if you did see somewhere selling 29mm album pages, I'd definitely take a look, my friend. I think my first numismatic quest of 2022 will be researching this.....
  5. That's a nice looking album, James. Maybe I need a nice album project....the sad thing is that it's actually pretty hard to find albums that properly fit many of the Canadian coins that I like. My favorites are the quarters.....which are just different in size from U.S. quarters enough that they spin in the holes in an album designed for U.S. quarters......maybe West German silver 5 marks. That could work....they're an even 29mm, so I could find blank album pages for them and they're attractive coins, especially in proof.........
  6. Happy New Year to you as well, my friend. And I'd like to extend my wishes to the whole community for a great 2022, with all of the good stuff in life. Blessed be, my friends, and I'll see you in 2022!!!
  7. Let's see...... 1. Keep growing my little sales venture. 2. Find a way to focus and a find a new overall goal. Looking at OCRE made me realize my Faustina the Younger project is impossible. There are just way too many coins and too few opportunities to acquire many of them. I'd need the lifespan of my pet Box Turtle if I were to have a hope in hell of completing it, which I certainly will not have since I am not a Box Turtle myself. So, since chasing the absolutely impossible is no fun, I need to find something new to do. 3. Ignore all users on here who use cell phone texting abbreviations in their posts. That c*ap drives me nuts. 4. I'm with Jonathan on this one, too: Stop answering, ever, anyone who refuses to use punctuation or is profoundly_mentally_impaired enough to title a thread "pls help." That's a goal for me, as well. That's basically it for me as of now. I guess I'll see how I do with these!! I think #2 will be the most difficult for me....I've been terrible at specializing up until now. I've either been as curious, distractible and all over the place as an overstimulated Tiger Shark with the mother of all caffeine buzzes or, when I do manage to focus, I've ended up focusing in on impossible goals. I need to work on that. Best of luck to all with accomplishing their 2022 collecting goals!
  8. Agreed with Greenstang on all counts.....the coin is damaged and has no value above face and, going forward, please post photos of both sides of the coin in question.
  9. Congrats, JP!! It's always a great feeling to finish a project. I've only known that feeling with numismatics a few times.....I'm just too all over the place to get too far with finishing series. You should be proud of your set....it's a nice one, with very nice coins and built with a lot of love and care. Well done
  10. You're absolutely right on that, Greg. According to Coinflation, the metal in a Zincoln is worth less than one cent.
  11. Excellent pickups, Bill!! I'm so pleased that you're happy with them. They both look like good sets, but especially that 1967. The quarter and the dime look really nice in your 1967 set, but I like the 1966 cent better than the 1967 one, actually.
  12. Hi again, Donnie. I'm with the others.....your coin is just damaged and worth face value.
  13. Hello and Welcome, Donnie!! In looking at your coin, there's nothing indicating a die clash to me. I'd say you have a perfectly normal, circulated 1989 cent worth face value. It's definitely not worth spending money to grade.
  14. Looks like you're doing pretty well, Bill. Very nice! I'm so pleased I could help you make some additions as well!! Your additions allowed me to make a couple of additions myself....a couple of 1971 and 1972 Canadian Uncirculated Sets with some cameo coins for the Canadian P/L/Unc Set Cameo Hoard that I have. Thank you again!!!
  15. If Ratzie has an extra $9 Million laying around, he should talk to Researchcoins. I think Researchcoins has a couple things that Ratzie may be the only buyer for....
  16. Not a bad find in a roll, JP. My fiancée got a red 1961 LMC recently in her change from a gas station. It was a pretty cool find. Usually when I see something from the early 1960s in the wild, it looks terrible. Thanks for sharing that with us!
  17. I'm with Jonathan and Greenstang....it looks like a dryer coin and has no value over 1 cent.
  18. Going forward, please only post one thread per coin. The answer isn't going to change because you post another thread about the same coin.
  19. I'm with everyone else....it's simply a corroded, damaged dime. There is no OMM. It's simply damage to the mint mark area of the coin, which is unsurprising given how beat up and heavily damaged that coin is. It's had a very rough life and is worth face value, if you can find a machine or person to accept it.
  20. Update-big day today!! All four NGC graded 1981-S Type 2 Lincoln Cents, the 1994-S Silver Proof Dime and the 1979-S Type 2 Nickel and Dollar have all sold and the links have been removed. Thank you so much!!!
  21. I'm with everyone else....definite cast fake.
  22. Here's some coverage of this on CBS News, Bob. Seems to be less click bait on their page and they're definitely a reputable news source. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/antique-photo-money-newspaper-time-capsule-robert-e-lee-statue/ I hope that's of some help, my friend. I hear you on the click bait though. It's annoying. I honestly tend not to bother with many U.S. news outlets any more in favor of Canadian and British news outlets. There's still some click bait with some of them, but a lot of them have a lot less than many U.S. based news sites, in my experience. ~Tom
  23. Very nice Bill. I think you'll enjoy them. Especially that 1967. 1967 SMS sets often contain some damned fine looking coins. If I were to do a U.S. Type Set, all of those types would likely be 1967 SMS coins. Many of them are that good.
  24. No problem, Bill. Glad to help. And they were dumping a lot of blame our way in the 1960's, to be sure! A full set of the three Special Mint Sets is a very cool and very affordable project. Getting the 1966 and 1967 sets is a good idea. The 1967 sets in particular are very nice. Some of the best looking early clad coins come from the 1967 SMS sets. Many 1967 SMS coins actually look nicer than the 1968-S Proof coins from the next year.
