  1. Oh no......I have to admit I was wrong....there IS a Pac Man penny!!! It's a 1982 and not a 1977-D, but there it is!!! Now, you need to go post that baby on Etsy with a $100,000 price tag and just wait for it to get snapped right up!!! Shouldn't take long........
  2. You could try it if you had some around. I wouldn't specifically go buy some just to try it on this particular cent. I'm not that familiar with ez est. I know it exists and I know people use it, but beyond that, I couldn't say much about it.
  3. Hmm....I wonder if any of the ones I put out in circulation found their way down to your neck of the woods. I break up a lot of Proof Sets for my little coin selling venture, and I've been known to place some proofs out in the wild for people to find.......well, if they are mine, I'm very happy that I gave you guys out there hunting something fun to find!!
  4. I was going to say 63......but I think you're right. It may have a shot at 64. But you're right.....that coin is seriously lacking in the eye appeal department.
  5. Good point on the rims, Conder......they do kind of look.....off. That's definitely another area of concern with this coin.
  6. I was considering it, but I've decided to go down to the parking lots at the shopping plazas we have in my town and see if I can find my own $55,000 treasure!!! I bet I can if I look in the highest traffic areas!!
  7. I want to preface this by saying that I'm not an Indian Cent expert by any means but.........yeah, it's not looking right to me either. That reverse just looks wrong to me with that nearly non-existent E in ONE. I used to work at a brick and mortar shop, so I've seen my fair share of Indian Cents but I've never seen one with that kind of a weak E. The N in ONE is concerning to me as well. I'm thinking this one's a fake, sadly.
  8. Here's my Dad's 41st birthday gift to me: She's coming from Sweden so it'll be a bit before I get her, but I think she's some fantastic copper to share!!!
  9. Those are pretty sharp!!! I used to collect Libertads years ago and it's always nice to see pretty ones
  10. Oh geez......that's just beautiful and worth every cent . I wonder if it's a "Pac Man" error or if it has a "lion mark" on it as well......probably not. Then it'd be worth $100,000! There's a fortune to be made lurking in parking lots and staring at the ground!!!
  11. I agree with Bob, Jonathan, Roger and Oldhoopster......you have a cast counterfeit of an Athenian Tetradrachm. It's probably a souvenir coin. In countries that were part of the Roman Empire or other ancient civilizations, it's pretty common to see copies of ancient coins being sold to tourists. My parents lived in Turkey for almost four years and tons of these kinds of fakes were on sale at almost every tourist site they went to when they lived there.
  12. To Quintus......thank you so much for the warm welcome back!!! I really appreciate that!!! To Bob....it's good to be back. It looks like a pretty good group. Like I said, I've been lurking since July, and it appears that the "Collector" with his 1969-S "Doubled Die" Lincoln Cents and Travis Hale have left for other destinations. Also, it seems that no one has asked about a 1977-D "Pac-Man" cent in a while. Those factors, taken with seeing someone I could help, made it seem like the right time to come back. As for what I've been up to, I'll be sending you a PM my friend. Thanks for the warm welcome back as well!!
  13. To the OP......I used to be active on here a few years ago before the need to write a dissertation, get away from abusive newbies who didn't like bad news and do some soul searching caused me to leave for a bit. I've been lurking since July, and I can help you with your coin. Before I evolved into the Faustina the Younger coin guy I am now, I collected a lot of Ottoman coins and I can tell you what you have. Based on the weight provided, you have a gold 100 Kurush. It was minted during the reign of Sultan Mehmed V Reshat and the date of 1327/4 is indeed 1912, like Fenntucky Mike stated. Your coin has 0.2127oz of gold and a melt value today of $372.61 USD. However, it does have some collector value beyond this. I do not feel comfortable in saying if your coin is AU or Mint State from the photos as it can be very tricky to discern high AU grades and MS grades with these coins. The value range would range from $400 USD if it's AU up to $450 USD if it's in Mint State. It had a mintage of 3,591,676. However, it should be noted that there are very, very few collectors of Ottoman gold by date that I know of. I hope that was of some help to you! And to my old friends JKK, Just Bob, Karen Holcomb,, RWB and Revenant......sorry I disappeared for a while. I had stuff to work out. However, I'm glad to be back in some way if you'll have me again.
