  1. Jonathan, as someone who has sold on eBay since 2008, you summed it right up, I think. There's a PHB somewhere causing problems......which is a problem encountered in many places the world over, not just eBay. I've definitely worked for organizations that had PHB problems, that's for sure.
  2. Update-the 1900-C British Indian Rupee has sold and the link has been removed. Thanks so much!!
  3. Thanks for the photos. In looking at your coin, you have a perfectly ordinary, circulated 1958-D cent, with what looks like some post minting damage on Lincoln's face and heavy wear. I see nothing indicating any doubling or repunched mint marks. I'd say that your coin, because of the heavy wear and the damage, is worth copper melt value, which is around 3 cents. If I found this coin, I'd just put it back out in circulation and hope that a kid would find it.
  4. The pictures are still bad. But I'm with Woods on all counts.....normal coin with post minting damage.
  5. That's a nice one, LemE!! Very cool. I've cherry picked a few 1943/2 P Jeffersons over the years, but it's something to see one in MS 65 5FS. My cherry picks were horrendous looking by comparison.
  6. You're having a great Christmas, Hog!! Very nice pickup and, once again, cool on your wife!! She's got a great eye!! I'm with you...I've seen some MS 67 silver Washingtons that do not look anywhere near as nice as your 1950-D. I had a good Solstice, myself. My fiancée got me an MS 66 1986 Series Canadian $5. But, I'd have to post that pickup over on PMG .
  7. I'm with Jonathan, Hoopster and Coinbuf.....minor filled die. Cool find, but no additional value.
  8. Nice pickup, JP!! You're definitely coming along with your set for sure!! And to both you and Hog....who knows why NGC does what they do sometimes? I have a particular bugaboo with them that's been going on for years now regarding Canadian Proof-Like/Uncirculated Set coins from 1968-1975. As you guys know, I dig Canadian stuff and I like the P/L coins in cameo. Back when NGC used to consider the 1968-1975 sets Proof-Like Sets, they attribute the coins from the sets as cameo if they had strong enough contrast to warrant it. However, a couple years back, they decided to call the 1968-1975 sets Uncirculated Sets, and they stopped attributing any of the coins from those sets as Cameo, whether they had contrast or not!!! I could type a ton about why this logic is flawed, but I don't want to hijack JPs thread. I said all of that to say this: because of NGC's decision, I stopped collecting coins that I like for quite a while and, recently, I just decided to say to hell with it and collect what I like!! You guys should do the same, I think....add what you like and what you can and be happy with what you have and can do, regardless of NGC's parameters. You both have great sets with beautiful coins.....just keep going!!
  9. I submitted a coin that turned out to be a fake......the notorious 1336/1 Ottoman gold 100 Kurush. What I got back was a fake coin in a bodybag and no refund. So, in my experience, the TPGs keep the fee, whether the coin is the real deal or not. It makes sense that they do.....they still provided a service and examined the piece, so they kept their end of the bargain.
  10. Yep. As someone who has family who lived through that horrible nonsense, that sums it up, Kurt.
  11. The photos are too poor to tell anything or sure. We need much better photos to tell you anything.
  12. Nah....I think Wayne's just new. Researchcoins is completely incoherent. Wayne is coherent. Researchcoins seems to be a native Malaysian speaker based on one of his thread titles, so his poor English skills would be highly forgivable if he weren't a total bodoh who tries to sell $3.34 coins for $300 and .25 coins for $9,000,000. That is completely unforgivable. It's predatory, extortionist, scumbag conmen like Researchcoins which ruin the hobby for many newbies.
  13. I'd like to go, too. My maternal family emigrated from East Germany and I still have distant relatives in eastern Germany today......wonder if any of them were in the Stasi It'd be pretty cool to see where my maternal family came from. I also dig German coins and notes, and I imagine I'd have many opportunities to buy some good German Empire, BRD and DDR stuff for my collection.
  14. No worries Wayne...you're new. We all were new at some point and most of us get that and understand it. Being here is a great first step to being successful in the hobby.
  15. Very nice, Bill, each and every one. This is exactly what I love about currency.......it's so colorful, there are so many great designs from all over the world and so much of it is very affordable. I've found that even countries who have very bland and boring coins often have some colorful and enjoyable banknotes, which makes it more fun and interesting to build an international collection, IMHO. Thank you for sharing those
  16. No kidding.....that'd be quite a slab, I have to say!! And, sadly, this is the first I've ever heard of Revere Ware. I had to look it up. Looks like some good cookware, though.
  17. Now if someone could pound this into that bodoh (i-d-i-o-t in what I theorize is his native tongue) Researchcoins' head about his 1967 half dollar, we'd be getting somewhere.
  18. That could very well be the explanation as well, Woods. I buy it.
  19. Man.....lots of controversy in Saints, especially lately. To people who collect them....does this enhance the experience of collecting them for you, damage it, or leave it completely unchanged? Just curious.
  20. Clay....I'm really not sure what you're asking here, but if it's implying that what is going on with this dime is anything but post minting damage, that is incorrect. The coin is simply damaged. The date is weak as an aspect of a poor strike or from being struck by a grease filled die, both of which happen a lot with modern U.S. coinage.
  21. I'm so glad I could be of some help to you, Tarmack. And this is true...only the 1979-P coins need to be examined for this variety. It definitely makes the examination of a pile of SBAs a lot easier!!
  22. Update-The Canadian Uncirculated Set Cameo coins have sold and the links have been removed. Thanks So Much!!
  23. Woods is right on here....,frosting alone won't do it for a PL designation at NGC. You need high reflectivity in the fields as well. I've submitted my fair share of Mexican silver coins that had high degrees of frosting but normal fields over the years....and not one PL. Stars, yes, but no PL. Not one time.
