First: This is a forum - a place for like-minded people to discuss items of interest. If someone chooses to just answer a question simply, without trying to instruct others, that is their prerogative. Not everyone is a teacher. Each person has the right to answer a question as simply or as elaborately as they choose, and it is not my place to try and tell them that their way is wrong or right.
Second: On this forum WE DO NOT give reasons why we think a coin is fake, other than what is blatantly obvious. Many of us believe that counterfeiters and/or sellers of counterfeit coins lurk in the background, reading posts like this to learn how to improve the look and acceptance of their fakes. The LAST thing I want to do is help a counterfeiter make a better product that might fool someone. So, brusque or not, a simple answer is all they are likely to get from me.

I would probably give it at least another month or two in the bath, but it definitely looks improved.

You must have misunderstood. He wasn't saying that you need to post pictures of your coins. Oh, no, he was saying you actually have to share your coins with us. It's a rule that new members, especially those who work for major coin dealers, have to send out free samples to all of the other members.

This is why I said it looked Roman to me at first glance. I was just looking at some of these last week, and the OP's coin seemed to ring a bell in my mind. But you and John know much more about ancients than I do. Looking forward to seeing what it actually turns out to be.

At first glance, it looks like a Roman Denarius, but let's back up a bit. The best way for you to get an accurate ID is to repost your pictures - cropped and clear. Cropping will enlarge them a bit and remove all of the unnecessary background; improving the focus will help viewers to see the important details. Next, posting the weight in grams, and the diameter in millimeters, will go a long way toward helping to narrow down the hundreds of possible choices. There are a few very good ancient coin identifiers on this forum, (not me) and they will be happy to help you, if you will help them.

They mean something to the guys who own the company, but not to the coin collecting public. Designating coins as "90 percent Full Bands," "4 Full Steps," and other such nonsense is just a way to take money from unknowing buyers.

The percentage of dealers who pulled out of the show was very minimal to the amount who attended so no I don't think it had any impact on the show. As a matter of fact, I don't recall seeing any empty tables so I believe the dealers who cancelled had their tables given/or sold to other dealers. I don't know if I would say buyers found "good deals" since as I mentioned, quality coin were selling for premiums. But since I was able to find some great material, and I sold a lot of coins as well, I am deducting that many collectors went away satisfied. As I also mentioned, the show was busy and active, and everyone I spoke with, both large and small dealers, had a great show - but that is not unusual for the FUN show, even when we weren't in a pandemic.
