An Old Favor Pays Off

TAKING ADVANTAGE OF A CORRECTION...

There's nothing like feeling you've gotten a bargain... Greetings Collectors, The mailman was good to me today. I have met a real nice guy through eBay who has tons of Kennedy halves. He is a "Kennedy man" from the word go. He just sent me a full pristine roll of each 40% Kennedy less the "S" mint marks for the entire 1960's run. What makes these halves so nice is that each was from a "broken-up" SMS "special mint sets". All the coins at 1st glance look as nice as any "non cameo" proof in a

Was Dazed and Confused Now Humbled but Complaining Still !!

Adding a non-NGC/PCGS coin to a Custom Set begs the question ..... Why bother at all ?First...a big thank you to GHERRMANN44 for his help explaining that while you can add any coin to a CUSTOM set the kicker as he put it is that the coin and the information about it will not display ( kudos for his clever way of getting his to show though ).Thats very disappointing to say the least . 3 BEAUTIFUL INDIAN HEAD PENNIES

These coins take me back to my collecting "roots"... Left to Right & Bottom: 1901, 1906 & 1907 Greetings Collectors, Taking a trip down "memory lane". Tough Find

Another very tough addition to my collection! I just added a great and very rare new piece to my Belgian Congo collection. It is a 1917 (H) 5 Centimes in Proof. It is graded NGC SP65 and super rare. I have been looking for one for the past decade and this is the first I have seen for sale and was lucky enough to buy it. what a strange odyssey I hope that my collecting friend "Electric Peak" forgives my play on his title. I also attended the Baltimore Show this weekend (Saturday) yet my story starts a few days prior to that. An Error!

Unfortunately not in the ?Mint Error? variety, but in the understanding of coins expending money sort? this one truly is my insufficiently_thoughtful_person novice error? Adventures at the Baltimore Show

You didn't think I'd miss it, did you? Yes, I attended the latest Baltimore show, and had another minor misadventure along the way. This time, I could manage only two days: Thursday and Saturday. There is simply too much going on at work for me to have taken Friday off as well. On Thursday, I arrived shortly after 10 AM, when lot viewing for the Bowers & Merena auction opened for the day. I Did Not Get The Coin!

But I did get a partner in crime? Well, the coin on which I wanted to splurge, an MS66 1971D Ike did not happen. Sadly, it was the budget that got in the way. Such is the life of a bottom fisher even when going out on a splurge. And while there was the bite of disappointment, it did not last. I have come to learn that everything happens for a reason and in its own time. So, all I can only say is that it wasn?t the right time. Inspired to make Dedication Set 1925 Mint Set

After reading some best presented stories and a post by a fellow collector, i was inspired to create not just a "Best Presented" but a "Best In Category" for Mint Set 1925 in Memory of my Grandfather who started this road for me.
