A DEDICATION TO DAD

Happy Fathers' Day, Dad!!! All day, I've pondered what I wanted to say to Dad. Today is a beautiful day. I watched TV; went for a drive with my wife; cooked dinner; and frequently thought about Dad. Summer duldrums...

Slow going since summer has come on full strength in the South. I find it increasingly difficult to devote time to my hobby in the summer, too many other distractions and long days. Not that I mind the long days, mind you, but it does cut into coin time. Chores like mowing the lawn, trimming bushes, swinging on the patio, walking (need to do more of this) and grilling out seem to invade the time I spend on coins during the other seasons. Another unexpected acquisition. In April of this year I wrote a journal entry about bidding on a coin, fully expecting to lose, only to be pleasantly surprised at the end to find myself the high bidder. Great/Bad Week Good Morning, Just got home last nite from my latest chemo treatment. That's the Bad news! Another chemo. First True Impulse Buy in Over a Year

the coin had the look and was only 50% of list--but there is no set fot it As I've matured and become more disciplined in my collecting my impulsive purchases have dropped considerably. No Longer Top 10

I didn't expect it to last forever When I made my last post, I had just achieved a Top 10 ranking in all of the circulation strike Walking Liberty half dollar categories. I said at the time I was sure it wouldn't last. So congratulations to mkm4mkm who recently bumped me out of the #10 spot in the full set listings (by 26 points!). First time buying from HA

Not very excited I bought my first coin from heritage auction around a 3 weeks ago. Finally received it today. As I take it out of it's packaging the first thing I notice Is the ngc holder is chipped badly and looks like It's been taken out of the holder once or twice. Then I try to add the coin to my registry, but i can't. Still registered to the last owner. I don't have very good camera, or I would show you all the holder. I guess It will get crossovered my next shipment. By the way. The coi

Dr. Greg Pineda Philippine Collection - 1905 Five Centavos PR 65 (1623 Registry Points)

The 1905 Five Centavos is a PROOF ONLY ISSUE with a miniscule mintage of only 471 coins. Of the 471 pieces made, this has to be one of the very best. It is beautiful! I've been trying very hard lately to photograph and enter my coins

The weather was just too nice yesterday. Someone on here mentioned that they hoped for good weather to take pictures. Well, I tried and tried to get a nice picture but I couldn't get away from things reflecting off of the coin....including the camera! The light was just great, though. I finally gave up and let the trees reflect off the coins. The result was not necessarily bad. It's probably not going to win any photography awards, but I liked it. Philippine Auction of the Century Conducted at Memphis IPMS This Evening

Responses to some comments Wow. With relatively few views of my previous post, there have been more replies than usual. This is just to respond to some of those messages. First up, regarding internet speed: At the time, I was on 15/5 (megabits per sec, download/upload) FiOS service, which has been adequate for my coin activities (browsing, bidding, etc.) at the same time as both of my sons playing on-line action games, without any issues.
