This is a note from French New Caledonia. Emergency Issue from April 1943. From what my research tells me about this note there were less than 50,000 of this notes printed. Anyone seen these before or have any more of the set (5, 10) they can offer up for sell?

Most of the architectural medals I've come across have been copper or bronze.

This is a white metal example of St. Giles cathedral as reconstructed in 1883

I have not been over here in awhile, so trying to get caught up. Some lovely pieces everyone. This one is not that special but the toning/patina is unbelievable, I wish my images did it justice. Thanks to Doogy for this obscure pick up.

I know that some of you are probably tired of seeing these, but 2 new coins for my sailing ship themed set...first: a Portuguese coin commemorating Europeans discovery of the Azores and second: a coin from Togo (Royal Mint) honoring the legendary German sailing vessel "Gorch Fock".

That crown looks VERY choice to me!

Here's a "marker" for Christ's Hospital which features Edward VI (who lived only to age 15).

Here is one of my latest World Medal acquistions a 1667 Louis XIV Medal, Obverse by Jean Mauger, Reverse by Mense. Chris is assisting me with tracking down the entire history of this piece and the inscriptions.

simply gorgeous rey...I absolutely love that rich, brown color....

here are my three primary purchases from the ANA World's Fair of Money....

first is a Polish 10zy I got at the Poland Mint table in the "Mints of The World" area

second is a nice Nicaragua 10 Cordobas piece with the ship La Nautica (wonderful "oyster shell" luster)

and finally, my big snag--a hard to find 1963 Israel 5 Lirot Proof with stunning toning and underlying mirrors ( which I can't photo well because the coin has a strange concavity to it)...anyhow..enjoy..

PS: rey, I saw some great Railroad/locomotive coins at the Canadian mint table--just released

PPS: Rial--I also saw a fantastic coin at the Austrian Mint Table, it is a Commem to the Philharmonic

FINALLY received my ROYAL SHIELD OF ARMS Base Metal Proof set.. 25000 I think there was, sold out ! been waiting a couple of months for mine to ship, its number 12,000 or so. They really underestimated the number of orders ?

Also got the silver proof set and BU collections of both old and new. These are some nice lookers ! if only NGC would answer about slabbing the proof sets a-la GSA holders..

2009 $10 Gold Kangaroo Proof Coin

Australian Artist Series - Ken Done

The last of 3 great artists: Rolf Harris, Reg Mombassa, Ken Done

Sold out in 1 hour !! mintage 1500. Internet ordering response crashed the server shortly after ordering became available, and I couldn't get a proper response from the ordering form right up to the last minute ! most orders are probably from phone and mail, but some of us got through :)
