  1. Abdulah, you are doing the right thing by posting coins here. It looks like where you are from US coins are selling for a big price and most of the coins you post here are just normal coins. Unless it has been graded coin you are doing the right thing by asking before you buy.

Has anyone seen this 1996 ? Can't find it in the red book or ngs or pgcs listings. This chat bord keeps kicking me out when I try to up load a photo GRRR. Any way it's a 1996 JFK but the field is gold and the foreground is silver on both sides.

You can only upload certain size pictures. Without pictures we can not help much.

The 1942-D was not made in the wartime composition (35% silver), only in the regular copper nickel alloy. (Check your "Redbook".)  It's considered a somewhat better date but should be available from coin dealers.

If you see what Sandon posted, you will not find a 1942 D silver nickel.

    With the OP's indulgence...

    To Messrs. @EagleRJO and @J P M :

Speaking as a former thread retread guy, it has been my experience that 99 out of 100 threads are resurrected, inadvertently, by fairly new members who jump right in, without malice.  The sole exception is me. Recently, I barged in like a bull in a China shop and the Grand Msster himself, trying to make a point and unamused by theatrics waved me away with a curt, "stay away."  When Oldhoop announced his departure in a post entitled, "Outta here," just last year, the esteem in which he was held was demonstrated by the 250 posts that followed over nine [cell] pages.  I reactivated the thread a week or so ago to declare my own departure. (Ricky, 🐓,  my faithful sidekick, now speaks for me.)  Not all resurrections are bad. My unsolicited advice:  if it is not related to your area of expertise, let it fly. The membership is always evolving whether by attrition or addition. You wouldn't want a biting comment to stifle a Newbie's exploratory activities. (thumbsu

There are also Bots QA and sometimes it looks like they pick up a tread and post a comment. I do understand some threads have good information that new people seem to use first.

where do I find the 1942 d silver in BU at a decent price not certified? I got the books BU and also a circulated set that I need a bunch still. Roll hunting for that one.

What are mule coins? The ones with a different reverse? I don't get that one. Where is the best place to read about that?

You will be searching a long time for a nice 42 D roll hunting. It would be better to just to get one at a dealer or online. A mule coin is when the reverse die was not the intended die to match the obverse die.

Jeez you got most of them. The ones you are missing do you also have them ungraded? What's the word that should be used? Raw?

Yes, the set is only just over half of them. I also have the full set of P and D mint circulated coins in coin folders. but not proofs, SMS + SP and not the 38,39, and 40 mule coins.

But if I want all my coins to be graded the same? PR70DCAM. I was trying to stay in the limit of about $10.

I have been working on my NGC registry set for a while now. I do find some good deals on nickels. Ten dollars will not go very far for a PR70 DCAM but you may be able to get a nice 68 or 69.

Best advice I ever got was from VKurtB to look at the rim of the coin. I thought I had some nice nickels and then he told me to look at rim and they were not so nice anymore.

I think it was my suggestion to check the rims.

I do get regular rolls from my bank but that is after many years of doing business with the same two bank branches. All the bank people know me, so I exchange rolls on weekly basis.
