  1. Here is another coin very similar just not as large a area.
  2. Anything is possible the areas are incuse. I think it did affect the letters a bit because they have the same pothole texture type finish .I think the grease was just squeezed out of the letter impressions and then out on to the field. I took some more shots 2 with the phone and 2 on a angle with the scope to try to show the edge of where the field drops down. I also have another coin I will dig out of the same date that are also in the same area oddly enough
  3. Yes you are correct TJ. There are a lot of state and park quarters with doubling on the coins. It is fun to find them but most are so small they do not add a lot of value to the coin. Unless of course you are listening to the coin hype guys on the internet trying to get clicks.
  4. I found this going through my quarters before hitting the bank today. This particular Quarter is known for having these type of marks from excessive grease in the die. I just wanted to post it for new members to see. Is it a error that got away ? Is it worth money, 25c for sure. After that anyone who wants it maybe will pay ?
  5. Lots of road time on that Piece but it may be, is that a clash mark under the wing on that side also
  6. Is it a 45 D FB ? it is hard to see with the toning
  7. WoW Rash is that your dime I like it.
  8. Its all good. It was actually a old thread that was brought back up. and it is about Quarters so you in the right spot
  9. Ya James ,as I said in the first post I live close to Canada so I get lots of those and the odd ones go in a different jar than the foreign coins.
  10. This one is my favorite. a nice brass looking rivet ring. It was in a roll of 49 cents. A nice spacer.
  11. Here ya go Bill. L.50 Italian Lire.... I found it in a roll of dimes. It is the smallest coin I have except the Belgium 25 c I have next to widows mite is the smallest. It is 1.5 cm, nickel in color it has a R on one side I don't think it is for Replica on this coin .. LoL and on the other side I think the R is for the designer of the art work. there is a name on the bottom on the bust side Which may be the obverse I could be wrong, there are members here that know a lot more than me and may correct me..
  12. I was talking with someone and telling them how I love to roll hunt every night. I always seam to find something interesting. It may not be of great monetary value but it is very satisfying. I keep some small jars in a draw next to my desk and when I find something in a US coin role that don't belong there it goes in a jar. This is my foreign jar of coin finds not including Canada. I live close to Canada so I'm always getting there coins in rolls those I put in another jar. I also can see some of you cringing that they are in a jar well these coins are well circulated. I put them in small pill jars( hand placed ) one at a time and they don't move around to much. When I am older and I cant move around much I will stick them in a book. For now this is easier. Oh also if anyone sees a coin they would like to look at closer let me know and I will post a close-up for you.
  13. Ya TJ I am. It will show up one of these days LoL. I still roll hunt every night. I have 4 rolls of quarters sitting on my desk waiting for me to look at them. When I finish those I'll just go to the bank and get some more. I am sure I can just go buy one on-line but that's no fun. I am roll hunting Nickels right now. This is the fun part. People stick all sorts of stuff in rolls. Like these two coins I found in these Nickel rolls.
  14. I guess it would depend on the topic of the post. I am not quite sure exactly what you are looking for TJ ?
  15. Nice find, Having the date is a big plus. I see these selling at shops between $5 ,$10 and $25 depending on the year and overall quality
  16. Nice Bill, you are way past me on mint sets now my friend Congrats to Bill the MS King.
  17. Some are being told it never happened. It makes me sad to see history being washed away by people wanting to deny the past. It will be the downfall of Society.
  18. I find cleaning your Cache on your PC helps a lot.
  19. I am not sure what you are asking ? Is that hand rail something extra it looks like it is passing through the column not the coat? I hear there are a ton of small errors on these cents. In fact so many that most are really not rare on this set of coins for 2009. I have a bunch of these cents in a bottle but have not started to look through them yet.
  20. Ya Mike I was trying to get them to post it as a full die break. I can see where the crack was on the bust with this shot. The pictures I originally sent in were the USB scope ones and you cant see the crack going all the way with those shots there is no reflection.
  21. I have got some nice coins in Nashville at the CoinpursE and tax they do.
