  1. That's cool TJ ,where did you see that? You just added the JP
  2. No politics please it just gets messy.
  3. Yes you have to look at all the comments to get the grasp of 7 different kinds of 1982 coins were made and not just a few coins ,like 16 billion of them.
  4. Welcome Tgcisland .It is the clad set I have a some of them . It is not worth cracking the 76 out or the 81 set . When they first found the type 2 1981 the mint set was big money if it had the SBA with the type 2 . Now I think it is only big money if all the coins have the type 2 in the set. I may be wrong but that's what I have heard. Mowhawk may have something to add if he comes on.
  5. That one was real nice and in a holder. It sold for $47 . It is considered a token. It would cost you more than that to have it graded. It is yours to do with as you wish. No mater what you do it was a cool yard sale find
  6. So it said it was brass and a high quality facsimile ?
  7. Well we got a bit of snow this is a 6 foot fence in the back yard.
  8. Oh thanks DW, that is good to know. Oh and welcome to the forum Crusin1
  9. I think no one wants to grade a Nickel 69 or 70 for some reason? What salts my butt is they give out 69 and 70 all day long for the jacked up ASE's I love the nickel the toning is real nice and that might be what pumped up the grade Lem. It is hard to find a nickel without some kind of ding or scratch I know. It looks like the chip has been there from the start and a 68* is a real generous grade for this piece.
  10. Well first off there is no date................. So ?
  11. I am always saying I love that my house is all street gas when storms come. I will at least have heat hot water and I can cook. I went to light the stove and the pilots were out. Well this is a first ever for me. My gas meter froze ? The outside wall mounted chimney is directly above the meters rain and snow was blowing so hard and fast it was melting on the pipe and dripping on the meter. it had 2 inches of ice all over it and the regulator and breather. Unbelievable I got it thawed out but you should have seen me running around with hot water buckets and then a hair dryer to get it thawed out and the gas flowing again.
  12. Wow Bill, you been getting different stuff every day very nice copper. You must have found a quick access you like to deal with
  13. For the moment we are in a quiet spot of the storm . It has been a wild morning wind is whipping at 35 all the time gusting to 60 or 70 No BBQ Pro tonight I guess
  14. It is plastic slag left over the PCGS holder has a rough edge on the inside ring. I see it on some of the old style white NGC holders sometimes . The new ones with the three and four point holders are much better
  15. I had to put this coin up the finish reminds me of a Morgan . I think it is odd that these are called SMS coins but that's the designation in the NGC Registry there are 14 of them total.
  16. That looks very nice Bill. I am not sure you if that will get you the big money proof set price of $285. I think that is for the factory proof set type 2. but ya never know
  17. I had a chance to pick up some sealed tubes of the precedential dollars a while back but I just don't like them they look like brass tokens.
  18. Ya it is nice, kinda like what is now called Burnished. I need some more of those for the sets. And they were all easy on the pocket book. My wife is happy with the nickels as long as I keep getting good deals, I can stay out of the dog house.
  19. Well the storm is coming and I picked up some rolls to look at. I also picked up these Special Coins for my Nickel sets. Now I know there not all FS like I have been trying to acquire. Sometimes if it is a deal you just have to get, what you can when you can. I am proud to say that I got my first MS 68 FS. That in itself is something I have to say is not a easy find in nickels without costing big bucks.

    FS Nickels

Thanks Coinbuff. I had a feeling that was the reason but I figure it was easier to ask then to just assume.

    FS Nickels

In my NGC Nickels registry sets I have NGC and PCGS coins. I know NGC has two FS designations 5 FS and 6FS .PCGS only has one FS designation. When I look at my registry PCGS coins they are designated and priced for NGC 5 step designated coins. Why is that when I know my PCGS coins are 6 FS and are priced accordingly on the PCGS coin lookup as a full FS coin. Is it just automatic that they consider all PCGS coins are all 5 FS coins. I know the price guide is never 100% accurate but the price difference between a 6 FS coin and a 5 FS coin can be as much as $75 or more. I thank NGC for allowing PCGS coins in the registry it makes life a lot easier building sets but I also use the registry as a reference on the value of the coins. For me if there is a big price difference it makes it more difficult to keep track of the monetary value of the sets. Thank you JP.
  22. If ya got the new 6 gal buckets I will take you up on that they are a little taller and don't hurt my back as much.
