  1. The second I saw that '55, James, it looked fake and cleaned. Good luck.
  2. Another nice find GBrad, how many have you found over a year later. Still the luckiest roll searcher there is.
  3. Well, SAM was right above my post, now he's gone. I might have been talking to myself, I guess. Regardless, time for a nap and regroup.
  4. You read my mind, Sam. Exactly what I was thinking at the moment, minus what you said.
  5. Being from a beer drinking family, we collect steins. My grandmother who came from the French German border, German side in 1899, insisted we eat sauer kraut to replenish the 'good' bacteria in our stomachs that the alcohol depletes.
  6. Don't send anything in to be graded yet, and don't break any up yet. There's a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum, and they love to help, especially with this type of question. BUT, you have to have patience, they're not always 'standing by' on the website. During the next few days, you'll get plenty of good opinions, from coin smart people, you just have to wait a little. One of the best has already commented, and there's more to come. ----- Welcome to the forum, enjoy!
  7. That is one lucky find. It's a Kevin Keeper for sure. _________ I repeat, QA is a good man, rubs some people wrong, mostly misunderstanding. I've always liked somewhat eccentric people, you get to see the 'other side' opinion wise, although with QA a shirt pocket dictionary can come in handy, maybe even a sandwich.
  8. Today, I'm infatuated with early American gold coins. BUT, I can scroll through the 'Follow the Lead' thread and change my mind 99 times in one day.
  9. I'm a fair grader, but it's a lot harder than one thinks to get it right. Trust me, running a bulldozer is a whole lot easier than a grader. Pardon me, I thought I was on the John Deere web sight.
  10. I'll be looking off and on at this thread till the day I die. Thanks all for contributing, keep it up. Maybe there's a chance I'm in one of your wills. I get to enjoy them like they're mine by looking through the pages Every Day, pleasure!
  11. Good luck Six Mile Rick. Glad to see you post on this side of the street every now and then.
  12. The few towns that I know of that are named 'Sidings' are next to a railroad siding. (pass). They usually stay as small towns. I guess that Sidings grew into a Junction. ---- I hope your token is unique, Just Bob.
  13. If that 1943 copper cent that was just crossed over had all of its hair, it might grade AU58, oops, I mean MS 69. NGC, if I put my application in to be hired as a grader, don't do it. EDIT: Never mind, a week later after enlarging the '43 cent I can plainly see where the ear used to be before it was wore down. MS 62 it is then, I'm ready to start a grading career now.
  14. Not a sad story about the casino, would do it again. Sad part is not looking up $100 platinum values beforehand. They all go for the same amount, except the 1999. Besides, it's not my fault, ever. It's her fault, her idea, another Fine mess she got me in to. LOL
  15. Don't ask me. I sold my 1999 $100 platinum for $50 under melt a year and a half ago. Turns out, that's the only year that is worth a premium. Sold it for $944, went straight to the casino and lost it all.
  16. I can grade some coins pretty good, most I cannot. That 1839 G Britain 5 Sov UNA AND THE LION that's currently on the homepage now, graded PF63 Cameo, looks better than 63 to me. I guess each has it's own forgiveness etc.., depending on the metal, strike, on and on. My 1955 doubled die was returned with and EF 45 grade, and you could barely see Lincolns ear. I was pleased with that one. I thought I'd catch on quicker, but it seems I'm a good candidate for taking the grading class. Better late than never.
  17. The whole world is rooting for you, Lange included. Fingers crossed everywhere.
  18. That's a 'Biker' coin. I recognized it right off. An initiation thing, wad up a dollar bill, swallow it, and chase it with a Lincoln cent. They retrieve them a few days later and put them on the clubhouse wall on display by their name. Do you have the dollar bill that goes with it?
  19. Finally, a thread I almost nearly understand.
