  1. "so they ask and then ridicule the person answering because they don't think he knows anything."

This is where I agree with bsshog40.  While we should exercise a limit of patience where new people are concerned there is no reason, no excuse, for anyone on this forum to have to put up with ridicule or insolent behavior.

Here is a suggestion:  Many forums, much larger than this or the one ATS, have 'Volunteer Moderators'.  There are many here who would make a good moderator and then we would police our own behavior.  This is just a suggestion.

    Thanks for your discussions.

Lighten up.  Non-collectors post on every forum and many of them insult the members (often because a member is a little tough on them or cracks a joke).  There are very few things I would not tolerate.  I'm sorry folks cannot discuss politics in an agreeable way.  Politics influences our life and eventually the coin market more than most know.  I'd keep it in a separate section though.

I've never had a 'political' discussion on this forum or any other coin forum.  I have a standing rule:  I do not discuss Religion or Politics with anyone at anytime.  If I wanted to discuss politics I'd sign up at CNN or Fox.  I'm here for the coin info.  The individual I replied to has a point and we should respect his right to see it out.

What is starting to deter me away from here most times, is as I appreciate NGC's less strict rules, I think that letting newbies insult respectable members here when they are only giving opinions is nonsense. They come here to ask opinions/questions from the members and when they don't like the answers, they start insulting members. This is when a warning needs to be given and their thread shut down. I have pretty much avoided the "Newbie" part of this forum as that is a lot of what goes on there. Then when it starts trailing into the us coin section, we have to put up with the BS there. I'm done with it myself. I know older members from here, and I'm talking from 10 yrs or more, that have deserted this forum for these same reasons. If this stuff doesn't come under control  soon, all that will be left here are whiners crying because no one likes their toys!!

I'm sorry, I know how you feel.  I signed on in 2002 and, for this reason, I was gone by 2008.  You are right; NGC needs to tighten this forum up.  I don't know what you want to do but you have my support.  Just PM me and let me know what you'd like me to do or say.  At first this forum was the place to be.  Great friendly folks who were most knowledgeable and helpful.  Then in 2004 we had the War of the Words and things weren't like they used to be.  I hope you don't leave; I enjoy reading your comments.

  4. Q. How can you tell a blonde is not a Broncos fan?
    A. She thinks a quarterback is change for a buck.

In Vegas, a blonde walks up to a Coke machine and puts in a coin.

Out pops a Coke. The blonde looks amazed and runs away to get some more coins.

She returns and starts feeding the machine madly, and of course the machine keeps popping out the drinks.

Another person walks up behind the blonde and watches her antics for a few minutes before stopping her and asking if someone else could have a go.

The blonde spins around and shouts in her face: "Can't you see I'm winning?"

A guy took his blonde girlfriend to the Super Bowl game.

They had great seats right behind their teams bench.

After the game the guy asked his girlfriend how she liked the experience.

“Oh, I really liked it!” she replied, “Especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I couldn’t understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents.”

Dumbfounded, her boyfriend asked, “What do you mean?”

She said, “Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was, ‘Get the quarter back! Get the quarter back!’ I’m like, hellooooo! It’s only 25 cents!”

    Ideas...

    1.  Insider, start posting your quizzes.

    2. CAC threads get a lot of traction on some boards

    3. RWB  could post more threads like his thread about the 1794 dollar

    4. stupid contests? other boards have lots of them for some reason

Agree with Moxie15.  C'mon Insider, your quizzes on the board ATS were very interesting.  I think they would work well here and after a while draw in some new blood.

RWB posts some very educational topics.  Perhaps when we are on other sites we may 'advertise'.

Contests are fun and a great way to interact with our fellow NGC texters.

I'm willing to give it a try.

Curious, how did you make out with the PCGS grading?

NGC = VF Details Cleaned. Both.      PCGS VF Details Cleaned. Both.   But that was okay Cadet67.  It was part of the learning process,  I was very angry until Insider, who posts on this forum, helped me understand.  The good folks here will help you out.  Good luck..

Thank you all for the comments.  Very informative and helpful.  However, I do admit that I would love to have both coins graded by another agency.

Cadet67:  Once I disagreed with what our host graded two CC Trade Dollars so I cracked them out and sent them to PCGS.  There's also the third place runner up ANACS.or ICG.  Hope things turn out better for you and good luck.

"The former NFL star occasionally holds memorabilia autograph sessions, details TMZ, such as the not-so-secret gatherings he held in a Vegas hotel in 2017 when he signed memorabilia for a couple of hours.

Sessions like these provide income. However, they may also be a target for seizure as Simpson still owes several million dollars in judgments to Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman’s families. Simpson has generous pensions from the NFL and Screen Actors Guild, details Town & Country. He makes money from TV interviews, too.

And don’t forget: Now that Simpson is in his seventies, Social Security also contributes to his monthly income. All in all, the former athlete receives a tidy amount of money each month. A lot of it is not in danger of being seized to pay those judgments."

    Nope. See the reply, above

It isn't that I am being disagreeable with you RWB.  Perhaps I do not understand what you mean.   All I know is the TPGs use that in their grading.  For example, NGC uses the following:

    U58

Slight wear on the highest points of the design. Full details.
    AU55

Slight wear on less than 50% of the design. Full details.
    AU53

Slight wear on more than 50% of the design. Full details except for very minor softness on the high points.
    AU50

Slight wear on more than 50% of the design. Full details except for minor softness on the high points.
