I personally have no opinion one way or the other. I leave such items as 'legal', 'counterfeit', etc. to the lawyers who are paid to determine such intricate matters.

could be nursing homes, personal care homes, even prisons.
Right you are. I didn't think about those places; thanks.

100.00 for a GSA Carson City dollar? This is definitely a 'rare' find on today's market. Show us some pics after you get it please.

Does any member know any one who died from the virus? Your friend of a friend's auntie's daughter's neighbor's third cousin with diabetes QUALIFIES AS A YES.
Gawd how I hate to get into this but.... I live in a very small Pennsylvania town (pop 9000+) and our local newspaper 'claims' we have 152 cases of the Virus. Last week they had to evacuate our local hospital due to a fire that caused toxic smoke. All 9, that's right folks, nine patients were evacuated and none were reported to have the Virus. The question on everyone's minds here is: "Where are these 152 cases?" We aren't big enough to have a testing station - I guess maybe they can at the hospital. It's quite a mystery to us.

Selective quote there busman. Where did I say NGC overgrades by half a point all the time? And you claimed I say it all the time, you only provided one link.
I stand by that statement. It is true when it comes to Morgan Dollars.
That was too easy. It was necessary to go back only 3 pages to find the above comment. I have no interest in going back into your hundreds of posts to point out the many comments about NGC. Your comments are known by many. Try as you may, you can't go over there and say one thing, only to come over here and make inconsistent, hypocritical and contrasting statements over here.
We don't need this over here. Quit making these forums a bad place to be.
If you have nothing good to offer, don't come

"Wow......I just read through all of it and I am a bit surprised by some of the attacking thats going on.
Some of those guys need to go get a breath of fresh air, Rub some sunshine on their face and relax.
It's like watching a little league football game.
Kinda sad really"

I stopped buying from the mint several years ago due to the high prices, prices now are nuts.
I also di and not just because of the absurd prices but the items they were designing appeared to me to be cheap looking and lacked imagination. This is just my opinion.

One more reason why I love old coins. Look at the strength and definition of those fonts! The computer-generated devices on today's coins look weak and malnourished in comparison. Nice catch, Alex!
Just for you Quintus: Here's one I bought today at a cost I will not say. I do so love that Rebel Gold.

Agree. Excellent idea in lieu of the amount of 'Newbies' that have been cropping up lately with their 'doubled die' coins.

Years ago when I went to the Post Office to buy a book of stamps out of their machine and put in a Ten the change was in Sac dollars. I had a pound of them.

So far I have to agree. This is not for me. I'm afraid it will turn out like the 2006 San Francisco Old Mint Dollar.

I saw this posted, with great excitement, ATS and on CT. I think this is just another US Mint 'gimmick' personally. I would be interested in hearing what others thought.

Personally, I found Mr. Salzberg's letter to be both interesting and informative. As for WC's "TPG are attempting to replicate the US "collecting" culture elsewhere" I can't recall one instance where anyone twisted by army to buy a TPG slabbed coin or pounded my head with a mallet to buy an NGC or PCGS graded coin. If I absolutely adore a slabbed coin but would rather it be raw and in my album I just take a pair of pliers to the very tip of the slab and 'crack' goes the weasel! And then I can be just like the Euros and put all my gold coins in a paper bag.
My congratulations also to NGC for helping make my coin collecting experience more profitable and fun.

Quite possibly; I hadn't thought about that. Thanks.

Interesting point of view.
See, I thought that posting that he was an untrustworthy, lying, two-faced backstabber who relentlessly attacked people in the forums for the same things he did would have been talking. That's why I didn't post that.
Very strange. I just browsed through the 2004 threads I saved and cannot find where the two of you exchange words let alone arguments. I'll keep looking because I'm quite sure you wouldn't say that which is not the TRUTH (RIP).

I no longer buy from the US Mint and haven't for a very many years. It's not the prices that drove me away it was the quality and the lack of making products that appealed to me. However, this only my opinion.
