  1. On this subject I must agree with VKurtB.  In all the decades I have collected I have only seen a few people charged with crimes against the coin collecting community.

Their sentences were laughable.  The Fed has bigger fish to fry than the EBay crooks; that is the way it is and that is the way it will be.  Besides, name one of us here that is going to go to court with a legal action over a counterfeit coin.  You would have to be rich beyond words to cover the court costs.  Well, just my thoughts on this.  I can remember when I got stung; it wasn't a court of law I was thinking of it was Smith and Wesson.

  2. Oh, the irony of it all.  I've been a member here, off and on, since 2002 ,have never been 'Banned' or issued a warning of any kind over the years.  I do not know off hand how many coins I've submitted to NGC over the years but it is many.

On the section Ask NGC/NCS I have only asked two important (to me) questions,  The first sat for a month before I finally coaxed and answer out of who ever.  I let the second sit for two days without an answer before I gave up.  I posted on

another forum and had my answer in less than one half hour.  Now I look at the Rat Man and the attention he's getting and wonder.  Perhaps it is entertainment that makes the day, eh?

This has been Sleepy Hollow for the over 14 yrs

I don't recollect the exact date this form became the legendary 'Sleepy Hollow'.  Maybe about 2006 to 2008 when the War of the Words ended and a mass migration began.  Some very good folks, and my friends, left and as I checked over the years they didn't come back.

As for CT being a "scam" I would tell the OP that's BS and "you might want to stop taking yourself so darn seriously."

An Internet fraud (online scam) is the use of Internet services or software with Internet access to defraud victims or to otherwise take advantage of them; for example, by stealing personal information, which can even lead to identity theft.

I have been a member on CT for quite a while now. Never had any problems.  Quite a few members from here and ATS venture there also.

So have I and I haven't had any problems either.  Also, I have had many good coin and paper money experiences while there.

You've turned the forums across the street into a bad place and seem interested in expanding your influence. Walk across the street and continue your game-playing over there."

And on and on it went.  Who needs a Moderator when there is such love between members.

And then there was 2004 and the War of the Words started ATS by none other than HRH.  Those were 'the good ol' days'.

  7. Once while serving with the 3rd Armored in Germany I read a Playboy Magazine and in the middle there was a full page joke.  It was a family sitting around the dinner table and there was this bucket with the likeness of Colonel Sanders on it.  The bucket was filled with breaded and fried mice with the father dishing some out to the family.  I haven't eaten there since that.

Right you are!  Just like the old days of March 2004 eh?  Eat em up Osceola!

  9. I have been very fortunate over the years to have developed a good relationship with two nationally known dealers that I have come to trust.  These are people who have decades in the business and who I feel are completely trust worthy.

I have NOT bought from EBay in many years with the exception of a few miscellaneous inexpensive coins.  EBay, in my opinion, has become a junk yard of low quality coins being sold at high prices.   No matter how you choose to buy - good luck to you.

That is a fantastic idea.  It would probably save me a lot of time scrolling through auction sites to educate myself on grading standards.  This would actually be an awesome holiday gift idea for my husband, who is the actual collector, so thank you twice!

Sorry I'm late and the guys are correct.  She's a 62.  Now this might help you a little.  It's pretty good for beginners:

This "Coin Marketplace" forum is for people who want to sell or buy coins.  You could have put this in the "Ask NGC" section and they would have been sure to see it.  It  was fortunate that they did see it here.  You could also put your issue in the main coin forum.  Which will get more views.

The first thing you should have done is called NGC.

    Yep!

  12. Wow!  Do people really spend hundreds, or thousands, of dollars on camera equipment to take loving pictures of coins they buy?  I'm just amazed.  I have PCGS True View and NGC Coin Imaging that does that for me for a relatively minor fee.

Well, what ever turns you on I guess.  Photography is a profession but this sounds like an obsession.  And from the tone of the past few Threads I'm not feeling the love here anymore.  :ohnoez:  I wonder if there will be another migration like before.
