This post is a joke right? I ask because this entire thread has been a complete farce. In 14 years on this forum and both reading and participating on others, I don't recall another thread which is worse than this one.
Sure, I am, as guilty as anyone else here for participating and should have known better. I have also encountered posters who don't like hearing opinions contrary to their personal preference but nothing even close to this one.
March 2004 - The War of the Words with the people ATS.
Now please carry on folks; sorry for the interruption.

Final cover image (in low resolution) added to first post. Going out for printing and delivery quotes on Monday. (Last pieces came together faster than expected thanks to the Library of Congress folks.)
I'll be watching for it to come out. Looks to be an interesting read. Just remind me when it's out. Thanks RWB.

It is good to see the NGC Forum becoming revived after many years of being avoided. So folks: Go get em!

It does seem a bit fancy for a casino token.
Sorry but this is all I could find at present. I will keep searching.

I may be wrong but: I believe this is a token. There is a resort and a casino at Maho Beach. There are several for sale on EBay.

I got my new 10x LED Loupe today. So much better than a penlight and a 4x magnifying glass. Sadly, my collection is being thinned out. I no longer have any Jefferson nickels and only three shield pennies out of close to roll of them. Roosies are next, yikes.
Modwriter: Why are you thinning the herd?

President Putin purportedly has a vaccine. I am inclined to believe him [despite then-VP Biden's crack about looking into his eyes and not seeing a soul.] After all, I have no reason to doubt the veracity of a claim made by a former KGB official.
The nuns at Catholic school told us you couldn't see the soul. I asked an Army doctor about it once and he told me it was located down and near our gizzard.

Yes, this. Be prepared. This is what it might have to come down to. There is no "right to a cure" if only we hate the current leadership enough.
They did not invent a vaccine for H1N1 until 2009 and that was the Swine Flue variant. This is close to the Influenza shot we get every year. This vaccine changes often because Influenza evolves often.

What additional measures are YOU interested in? What "war steps" do you recommend? I'm genuinely curious.
Everything I have read about Spanish Lady, and it has been extensive, suggests that they overcame the 1918 Pandemic in the same way as we are doing today. They wore masks, practiced social distancing and stayed at home. Every survivor interviewed says the same thing: "People became infected and then they became immune or they died." It appears the major attack of H1N1 fizzled out in 1920-21. So, you are pretty close to what you said earlier.

"How long do we stay cooped up"? I guess as Governor 'Woof' keeps doing the 'Open Up' - 'No, close down agin'. I don't think 1. That anyone knows what they are doing and 2. That there is anybody in charge.

A University of Chicago epidemiologist was on WGN-TV this morning saying she sees “back to normal” perhaps by the summer of 2025. She was not kidding.
While I have the utmost faith in American ingenuity and our ability to rapidly solve problems I fear you may be right. The 1918 Pandemic, AKA 'Spanish Lady' did not end completely by 1920 as some believe. In minor cases it lingered on until 2009 when H1N1, in it's evolved form, broke out in the US as the 'Swine Flu'.

+1, but I do make allowances for personal bias and degrees of reputation of various firms. I keep an NNC (a real basement firm) slabbed 1960 Franklin half that I swear is UNDERGRADED, just to remind myself that it CAN happen. Not often, but...
I keep a1897 Morgan that was Photo Graded MS64/64 by IGA in 1986. I believe it would get an NGC MS 65 today. IGA I think only lasted 86 an 87. I got rid of all my Photo Grades but kept 5 ANACS and IGA. IGA didn't make an impression on many people.

People are going to have to accept that there are going to be a lot of disappointments now and in the near future until the Covid-19 is brought under control.
The cancellations, such as college football, are occurring on a daily basis and this surely will be our greatest exercise in patience and understanding.

I guess I wasn't clear enough. All you have to do is use a computer search program called Google and type in Berlin Funkturm.

I did go to my in-store bank branch yesterday and purchased a roll of quarters for $10 cash. The teller asked me if I am a customer and I showed him my debit card. I was given a customer wrapped roll that was 75c ents short, but the quarters were mint state 2009-P MA keepers. My area (Temecula, CA) seems to be flooded with MA quarters.
I am surprised by your getting short changed that much. A quarter I could see but. Every Thursday I pick up 5 rolls of quarters from the bank and to my knowledge have'nt be short change. If you roll quarters and wrap them tight then open up and take three quarters out I say that's noticeable. Could be wrong.

I don’t have a lot of extended family, but that I do have remain in PA. I used to live in Amish country between Lancaster and Reading, and loved it there. I could literally leave my doors unlocked there. My late mother was born there, and her father got around by horse and buggy.
Oh that is beautiful country and when I'd pass through I would always stop and shop at the Amish places. There's a lot of history in that area. When I first came back from Alaska I lived in Bernville in Berks county I never locked my door either; even when I'd go out shopping. I rented a nice hilltop house from some religious people. Not Amish but they dressed like them but liked big pickup trucks and cell phones. Yes, it is nice in those areas; peaceful and quiet.

The Berliner Funkturm or Funkturm Berlin (Berlin Radio Tower) is a former broadcasting tower in Berlin. Constructed between 1924 and 1926 to designs by the architect Heinrich Straumer, it was inaugurated on 3 September 1926, on the occasion of the opening of the third Große Deutsche Funkausstellung (Great German Radio Exhibition) in the grounds of the Messe Berlin trade fair in the borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Nicknamed der lange Lulatsch ("the lanky lad"), the tower is one of the best-known points of interest in the city of Berlin and, while no longer used for broadcasting purposes, it remains a protected monument.
Looks like some kind of token to gain admission to this tourist attraction.

I like it and with what's going in the big cities makes me thankful I live in a small Pennsylvania town. I did like the many trips I made to Harrisburg and through on the way to Gettysburg. BTW: Pennsylvania will miss you when you're gone. But Alabama - 'Roll Tide!'

I'm impressed. You don't see coins like that at the corner dealer's shop. Thanks for posting Matt.
