Googled Lucy Bop and got a You Tube video with neither likes nor dislikes for my trouble. I want my money back!
You must go back to the 'days of yesteryear' to find her.

Well, whether fake or real, I would be curious to know its provenance, i.e., how you acquired it, from whom you purchased it, etc.
Definite fake. As for 'provenance' it has the look of a Chinese knockoff that you would find on Alibaba. The reason I say this is because it looks like it was recently minted. They sell tons of fabricated American coins on Alibaba and Etsy and while in their description they will call it a 'Fantasy' coin they never seem to have 'copy' on them which is required by the Hobby Protection Act. Hope I have been of some help.

Perhaps Quintas, it's just people doing what people do.

Alex,
You're very near me and the coin shortage HAS HIT downtown Harrisburg. The RiteAid was desperately asking for exact change, and even had no cents at all to give in change. Post-cent rounding was being used. I'm officially "down 2 cents".
I'm up here in Clinton County and haven't yet encountered a problem. I say yet because I'm starting to read a lot about it. I get 5 rolls of quarters every Thursday and have yet to be turned down. That is not to say this Thursday I won't get a "Sorry". See you're moving - hope it turns out real fine for you. I will let you know if I encounter shortages.

(Oh me, oh my. Reports of the imminent death of this thread are highly exaggerated.)
That's okay, I've been called worse. The latest exchange is reminiscent of the People's response to the defense: "You opened the door, counselor!" What fun! (Coinbuf, you too are a contender!)
And here I was all prepared to call the florist and have the flowers sent. Oh, silly me.

Oh my. Is this thread still going?

There are some rather beautiful coins and beauty is, as always, in the eye of the looker. Yes, I agree, as with all there's the hype but every auction and sale has it. I have no time for 'Partially Prooflike' or 'Prooflike'. These terms are used to boost the asking price of what is, in my opinion, nothing more than a good looking Business Strike. If it's not Proof - it ain't.

Stick around. This one's really interesting. We have a OP that has two screen names. I'm shocked.

Quintus: I watch and wait for the continuation of this saga. "mad scientist VKurtB's experimentation with acid baths and, quite frankly, his magical collection of fonts from which he drew that outsized "ME"! "
I love it! Good show.
PS: There's some people on this forum who get a little touchy about things. I first signed on in 2002 and by 2005 I was gone. Guess it just gets too heated. Besides, people should have found the humor in this. And BTW folks there a tens of thousands of posters out there operating under various nomme de guerres

RWB has hit the nail on the head with this one. If I read that on a sellers page I'd be gone right quick. Proof huh?

Very nice. Thanks for posting this. Always interested in the historical.

What Coinbuf said. $64.50 for $19.00 worth of silver. Ummm.

I believe that with a change of management and some really talented personnel the US Mint could become the favorite it was in years past. There are some gold coin designs from 1798 to 1900 that would be nice. Also the BEP. Compare an 1896 $1.00 bill to today's $1.00 bill. Oh, just wishful thinking.

Still no problems in getting pennies, nickels and quarters from the 5 banks in town. maybe it's just in chosen states.

In Block 5 of the NGC Submission Form the is information on the use of NCS Conservation. I have used this service 3 times on gold CC coins. Twice they were conserved and it was an excellent job of eye appeal. One of the two jumped up one grade. The third coin was returned to me, with no charge other than postage, as it was judged not economically worth conservation. I am a satisfied customer of NCS. Good luck what ever you choose.

Poor fella looks pretty beat up to me. You know there ought to be a law that says after so many years a coin must be 'retired'.
Retire was a term used by bounty hunters and Blade Runners as an alternative to the term "assassinate" or "kill" in regards to replicants. To "retire" replicants is another form of saying to "kill" replicants.[1]
