  1.    I’ve mentioned that I am not collecting ase’s anymore. I have started a Roosie dime album.  Begun collecting tokens and SCD’s .  And for fun coins with beavers or merchants tokens from places like Beaver Falls centennial, Pa.

Oregon, Canada and miscellaneous towns provide plenty of options and a wide spread of cost.

Here’s three I’m proud of and were reasonable cost wise.
But sometimes along comes a rather unique piece. It spoke to me and I’m probably opening myself to some good natured ribbing but I just love it.

  2. I completed my collection last year with the type 2 first types W S & W burnished. 2- coin

    reverse proof set.

No more. Done. They used me up. Burnt my brain,  Took advantage of my wallet, my patience, and left me drained.

I stopped, no 95 or 2019S. Oh well. I put it all away and started collecting real coins, tokens and SCD ‘s.  And the quest for coins with beavers    😉🙀🦫

  3. The coin came to me in change years ago. I always imagine that is what a dryer coin would look like. Its smooth and has some interesting features. Just not a belt sander look.
If needed for reference I’ll gladly take some better pictures.
Funny thing I remember about it (it’s been 20 years) is after I checked my change it was counted as a dime😂

  4. Well I went to all the dang trouble to find this thing. So I’m gunna share it because I can’t control OP meltdown but it’s a fun coin.
Also, asked the boss lady about dryers and such and she pretty much said “guys” don’t always empty the pockets. The water holds everything in place in the washer but the dryer is where stuff falls out. 😉🙀🦫

  5. Welcome. Yup, me and the boy’s (cat and beaver) consider this our home. The other forum gets busy but part of that ( and something that makes this place different) is it’s general nature, while this is for newbies.

There’s a group of us who use it as a general purpose meeting area while attempting to help new folks. Can get repetitive but such is life.
Please listen to Kurt about politics being very carefully used   We don’t all agree but seem to be able to overlook any differences ( mostly) and enjoy each other’s opinions.

    Little slower pace sometimes 🤨

    Jzyskowski1 😉🙀🦫

  6. I find the early commemoratives are too pricey but moderns I can do. I prefer high grade , nice coins ,so that don’t help being picky.  😎
I can’t repeat enough.   Buy what you like.
When I started buying new issues from the mint it was easy. I liked it or not. With back issues a red book was helpful. I could study designs and check mintage. Several of us here grabbed the 2008 with the sweet bald eagle issue.  Moderns can be found for cheap (under $40)    Silver, to boot
As always my 2 cent 😉🙀🦫

  7. Welcome. What was provided by Mike are links to begin your journey. I have been at this for a little while and I get confused all the time. Google may be helpful. Research is going to help. Asking questions here will provide a nice variety of advice. Try to organize your questions and ask away. We’re a pretty good bunch here just beware of humor as it’s used alot. 😉🙀🦫

  8. Ah yes. This is one of the biggest areas of question. I had to pay a price to learn. A couple disappointed results will educate you. Post pictures here and we’ll do what we can. This is not an easy thing you are doing. There will be mistakes. It’s ok.
Sorry and I say again we’ve done it and will help you.

  9. Safes and Tupperware tubs. Boxes and bags. Books and albums. More more more!  I’ll just have to go to my grave with a mountain of stuff and I think they will enjoy it. They are very aware of my passion and know that collecting is personal.  Very easy for me because I really really like what I’m doing and when I’m dead I won’t care.

I’ll share this. Stick a $100,000 in a life insurance policy and specify it be used to preserve or replace the collection  with something different. A little cash makes negotiating something like this a little easier.
