Welcome. I’m with the group. I see solder and looks like a pin was attempted to be affixed or removed,as Coinbuf said👍🏼
I also think it’s a wide rim. Probably had no idea and when they couldn’t get the clasp to stay, I’m guessing they weren’t happy , even worse, removing it to discover its a wide rim. 🙀 -

Welcome. Hey howdy you got a good one from first looks. Leave it where it is for now and remember never touch coins with your hands.
I believe you have a very desirable coin.
I’m not an expert at this series but there are many here who are. Thanks for posting. I will learn with you 😉 -

tj. That’s is one heck of a job you’re doing!👍🏼 A little of that good old “can do “ military outlook. “ Anyone can point out the problem but not everyone can figure out a solution “. Well done! Carry on mister ! 😉😸

What dimensions do you need for those German proof sets? Card board boxes are I’m certain a no-no but going in and out of the safes gets tedious so for temporary access they seem ok.

Why ofcourse ,I’ll jump right on that unknown website. Brand new member offering a super great deal. Seems legit to me 😂🙀. Should I email my personal info to you and trust your opinion on which of these deals you think I should have ( with free shipping).
Thanks but I have some bridges to check out. Thinking one would look good in the yard. 🤨 -

Howdy. A little trick I use is to look for any signs of wear on the high points. The devices need to be crisp, not perfect, but clear. Look at a new coin and imagine yours in similar condition and deduct for wear and dings.
It really does take time and study. 😉- tj96, RonnieR131 and Wayne26

That’s very cool. To slab or not to slab. First time in awhile that I’m split down the middle but I’m leaning towards slab it. Thanks for posting pictures.

Well , I agree but would be willing to try 😂. Any” leftovers “ I would gladly help out with 👍🏼
Congradulations, retirement can get pretty busy, but that’s when I got out the boxes and went through many years of stashing away. It’s great fun and can get a little emotional walking down memory lane.
I found a fair amount of YN giveaway coins. Keep the hobby growing 😉
