  1. The high retail for this coin is $32 If you do not like it return it I can see the mark on the web site photo. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/4816884-009/66/
  2. Yes congrats. it looks like you got some on the early years a few times. I did not relies you were at No1 on that set? Lem.
  3. That was quick, Thank you for the fix..
  4. It is more than likely 88 years of wear and tear than anything else. It may have even got stuck in a dryer and wore the reverse off. That coin has seen a lot of use.
  5. If it is raised it is a die crack like Sandon said, if not it is a scratch. Does it run all the way to the rim of the coin?
  6. The coin is the same only the grade has been changed { to protect the innocent }.
  7. I added a MS 66 1996 D nickel to my registry set today and for some reason it was inserted to a empty slot in my 1994 D spot. I double checked the certification number for the 96 D and everything is correct. Should I delete the coin in the 1994 D slot and resubmit the 1996 D again.
  8. PayPal has a lot of safety's. Just go to a different log in and check your account.
  9. I wish I could have gone. Sounds like you had a good time except for the dinner.
  10. I picked up two nice MS66's for the set this weekend. They should give me some more points and I got a nice deal on them.
  11. Sounds like a good time for a small show. I think you did fine on the quarters they look good.
  12. The photo of the 44 is to out of focus to tell if it has been polished . Even so it is nice enough for a book.
  13. Fear is the key word here. I would not buy anything from that person.
  14. I just got some new additions to the set. No big spenders but at least all FS coins
  15. Yes Congrats to Mike and Revenant and the rest of the winners.
  16. I was at one of my go to dealers one day and I was looking at some of his gold, raw and graded coins. I was looking at a AU 50 Liberty 2 1/2 in a old NGC holder. He asked me what I thought and I said the new slabs with the corner pins show the coin nicer. It was a bit scratchy and the soap bar look overpowers the coin a bit compared to its size. Before I could make him a offer he took the slab and a pair of cutters and snapped it out of the holder. I said wow that was quick and he said I trust your judgment as a collector and I will get the same or a better price for it without the slab. So Yes ,,People remove coins from slabs all the time even professionals.
  17. I do not have proof it was just a opinion. I have heard of coins picking up a higher grade after conservation and it looks like some of the tarnish has been removed on the lower left and the rim looks cleaner. But it could just be as you suggest with the lighting.
  18. It is from a private collection labeled coin. So I would think it would be important to keep it the same with a regrade. It also looks like it has been restored and that is why it got the +
  19. I think it was the same size as a coin and used because a paper label would not work with the plastic wrap
  20. The way VKurtB wrote his post says to me he cracks out coin holders for the coins to be put in books ?
  21. I have to agree with Lem it has been exposed to some kind of chemical . LoL it does look like the devices are on fire ...
