  1. No it is not, I think we will be seeing a lot of 1958 cents on the forum.. One just sold recently at GC for six figures , Some one on the internet posted it as you may have one in change even though that 58 coin has been a well known coin for years.
  2. Sorry to say Drick6sy19 I think your MM is not the inverted one . All the markers seam to indicate a slanted S closer to the building. I would still hang on to it if you like. It is a bit banged up and that removes any premium but it don't take up much space.
  3. I am sorry to say it looks like it has been rolling around in a parking lot for 50 years. Not a error coin a damaged coin
  4. Well it does not look like a star but something looks like it was in the rim press when it went through. Is it the same shape and location on other coins you have looked at?
  5. Thanks Bob, There are so many things to see that look off, no need to waste you time.
  6. Well it sounds like you have a shop with perhaps a repour with the mint. If that is the case and you have access to new 2023 coins and the information would be first hand. If you could post some of your finds I would love to take a look and try to help decipher the cause. I love a good mystery ..
  7. I'm not sure what you are saying ? Every coin that is in your Competitive coins list is also in the Collectors Society site. Your same log in and passwords work there. When you add a coin here it automatically goes there. Every coin has it's own file. On that site you can add extra information about the coin that you cannot here. There is a spot to write a story or add notes about each coin. You can even add a pedigreed to them if you like. Everything you can do here you can do there and much much more.
  8. They are cool even at MS 67 the SMS coins are not worth a heck of a lot. I am happy to have them for my set. People always buy them up fast at MS 67.8.9.and 70 I only payed $4 a piece so I am happy. I think the plastic cost more than that.
  9. I picked up some SMS coins for the big set
  10. I found one not quite as nice as your 70 but for $4 I can't complain
  11. First ,I know it is only $5 but these type holders I am not to sure about. There is no way to know what it is in the holder?
  12. I agree it looks like it has been laying on a red dirt road and it took on the color.
  13. I agree it looks like a rim hit from another coin. Looking at the photo it left a impression of the other coins edge if you look close it runs on a 22' angle. More than likely a bag mark look to me
  14. The wide AM is for 1998,99 and 2000 the close AM is for 1992
  15. Welcome FredrickMorris. I am no spring chicken and the members here love to help the new collectors. What I think is important is that the newer generation is not misinformed by the hype that is created by bad internet information on coin errors. I am a roll hunter/collector and I search for book coins and errors all the time. Sometimes I find a coin to add to my collection . Most of what I find is just PMD or a coin so old and messed up the error is diminished. I am not afraid to post a coin here if I think it has potential. I like the fact the members here are very knowledgeable on many aspects of numismatics and are not afraid to speak there mind on what is important like ..the truth not hearsay. The truth is hard to accept for most because there is almost always a monetary factor involved. Almost all new members believe that they have something special and it may be but we try give them all the correct information to go with.
  16. Welcome, Without checking each coin not really. If your coins were in Mint State or what is called MS they would have a small premium on them. In this condition not much above a face value
  17. I think you have been treated well. The members here have given you good advice. It is your choice to work with it or not.
  18. You can do all that with your coins in the registry on the NGC Collectors Society site. You can keep track of what you paid. What NGC estimates the coin at. You can also put in what your estimate of the coin is.
