Well we were shopping at the Coin Purse in Nashville and the wife wanted to get the 2022 Australian Queen Elisabeth II coin to go with her UK and Canada ones. While we were there she also saw this 2017 and asked if we could get it for the kid.

I am not sure but I would think the bar cod has the same info if not more of what is on the whole label. So I just blank out all of it . They do make barcode hand held scanners. I am not tech enough to know if they can read off a PC screen. My coins may not be as valuable as your puzzle box coins but they are still worth enough to try to protect us from the Bad Guys out there.

Most of the time if I find three of the same marker that is enough for me to think there must be thousands out there.

I’ll bet that I am the first on my block to have one.

I sometimes have to wait until a coin clears from the previous owner before I can add a new coin to my registry set. So the system works if the coin is in a registry. However if it passes from hand to hand without being submitted a fake coin could be around for a while before it is discovered.

Yes it is to try to cut down on counterfeit slabs.

What would you do submitters to NGC?
J P M replied to Mr.Bill347's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Sorry Bill, I know you hope these coins are winners but it is hard to get a 69 / 70 coin fresh off the press. I would take that $300 or more and get yourself a nice CC Morgan -
Another attempt at better coin photographs
J P M replied to Mr.Bill347's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Coins in holders are a lot harder than raw coins to photograph the plastic has so many reflections. I shoot with my Samsung S8 phone normal focus 4 to 6 inches above to coin on a flat surface with a white background then zoom to fill the frame. I will also try to use natural sun light when I can. LED, Florissant. and Incandescent will work sometimes depending on the tone of the coin. I also put a paperclip under the coin to tilt it and remove any reflection from the slab. It makes it easier to get a more realistic look of the coin in the slab. It is not always the best look but it works for my registry set -

In the old days before internet you had to have the phone and word of mouth information through dealers and collectors. I am sure VKurtB still has a lot of those type connections where others do not. -
I think you will be charged all the fee's for the grading and it will not be put in a slab and labeled. It is fake

Coin shop, bad review! How many are this bad?
J P M replied to Timely's topic in US, World, and Ancient Coins
Funny Story, Last year I was at a shop the owner was telling me a funny story. He had a huge coin book on the counter I was looking through with many 2x2 plastic slots for displaying coins for sale from cents to half dollars it must have weighed 50 pounds or more. His shop was broke into one night and everything was locked up and it was dark so the thief took the big book . Running away from the shop he did not carry the book the right way and the coins started falling out of the book. The police showed up at the shop and there was a trail of coins down the sidewalks and back alleys for two blocks all the way to the thief's house. Not to much profit on that heist -

Coin shop, bad review! How many are this bad?

I remember growing up in my area there were no coin clubs the only way to get info was the drug store coin magazines. I never had much money so I had to teach myself about coins. Wanting to learn more about coins, I remember I went into the coin store across the river in the next town the only one around for 40 miles. I walked into the store the guy said what do you want? I said I came in to look at your coins and he said forget it you cant afford anything, get out. Well needless to say for a kid that left a good impression of mean old coin collectors . I never went back until 2 years ago. I walked in and the SOB was still there LoL We talked for a while and he was a nice guy now that he was older. You just had to know coins. How to talk numismatics with him and if you knew your stuff he was nice guy. I looked up reviews on the web and he had the same bad rep from almost everyone for over 50 years he was there. Most collectors new how he was and got along fine with him. In the end the shop was a mess and not to much to look at. He passed away last year. I am so glad I went back before he passed and discovered that not all coin collectors are mean old men....Some are Woman... -
The coin you are looking for is very rare and would have come in a Proof set that would look like this 1975 set. The 1975 set had the 1776/1976 Bicentennial Dollar. Half dollar and Quarter in with the 1975 Dime, Nickel and cent.
