  1. I like it nice strike, If it is in a older ANACS holder it may have a lower than reality grade of 63RB
  2. Welcome Sir Shep III. Good photos .I have to agree with the others it looks like a double press MD I also want to point out that a proof coins field in a plastic holder will show a reflection that makes the devices look more dramatic than they really are. I have many proof sets that if you tip them back and forth the doubling will disappear.
  3. We have had a lot of Bot post lately Greg. There written wording is getting better and it is hard to tell what is a bot and what is not.
  4. If they stop making cents and nickels then all the existing ones would go up in value and we would not want that to happen.
  5. The article you posted at the top says it is unknown ? So not proven yet. You may want to send it in to Wexler for a looksee ? If they have more examples it may be put on the list.
  6. It is a cool looking 09 and the TE look close. Was this coin in a collection ?
  7. I never send in coins but have graded coins and ungraded coins. One difference is most coin sales are based on grade. If I have a labeled MS70 and a identical raw MS70 for sale is the raw coin a 70? The buyer can say it is a 69 or 68. There is no proof it is a opinion without that MS70 label on the case. The experienced collector knows what is what, the disadvantage now days is it has turned into the slab grade is the true value.
  8. Very nice coin, I will say there is enough wear on the hair and ribbon to keep it from being AU but it is close. It still could have been graded that as gift .. LoL.....I will say in my opinion it is a XF- 45
  9. I agree Bob that looks like a double rim hit on the reverse die. I would put it away. Or you could send it to CONECA if they give it a label then a TPG co. may put it on there label ? It may not be worth the cost, that is your choice https://conecaonline.org/attribution-services/
  10. I don't think the amount is as much a factor any more. If it is worth over $100-200 it is still only penny's on the dollar to make a fake.
  11. The devices do not look right the letters are to puffed up not sharp and clean. The same with the dental it looks off. Just my opinion.
  12. There are so many things to learn in this hobby Amerigo. You have come to a good place to find the truth. The L on your coin is in the same location as the other but the rim on your coin is worn and pushed closer to the L from circulation. I think it is a great coin your Grandfather gave you and I would save it. It is just not worth having it graded. Everyone here has had coins like your1955 in that condition and if they were worth $1200 we would all be rich.
  13. It is still a wonderful coin. Copper is not a nice metal. Never sneeze on the coin before it goes in the holder.
  14. Hey Bill. That 1921 looks like the coin I use for the kids to hold. I paid $30 for mine.
  15. Well there are some well seasoned numismatic collectors here. If you post photos' of the obverse and the reverse of your coins the members here with give you real honest opinions without any sugar on it.
  16. This is how the 1965,66 and 67 sets were packaged up if you want to try to find them.
  17. Welcome to the forum. .I agree it is a minor blister, die chip or a contact hit not a error. If you find more then one of these then I would say a chip.
  18. Welcome to the forum Amerigo. The photo you posted is not very sharp and the coin from what I can see is not a rare coin and it looks circulated may even have some scratches on the obverse. $1200.00 would be a rare perfect coin.
  19. I have never got new mint rolls. Are these rolls are all copper/clad ? Do they make a S silver also Lem?
