  1. I am thinking the second disk is not a copy also. Everything is more defined on that one
  2. $2000 is a great offer, I hope it works out for you whatever your choice. Good luck
  3. I am not saying they do not have great looking coins or a large selection. Now for me, I just don't want to pay $30 up front and then 20% at the hammer and then shipping. It is to much extra for a low price coin. Some coins in my sets are worth under $30 so it is a big loss after all the extra charges. Other on line houses charge $5 up front at first and then 12% and shipping. I can work with that.
  4. I pass on many coins because I can't pick them up at 30% to 50% of FMV. Why would I want to pay $30 just to bid on a $100 coin when that is the amount I want to pay for it to begin with.
  5. The coin looks real but the reverse scratch and dent left of eagle are killing it. Also the big gash after Dollar. If it is $30 and you just want to fill a hole then get it. I bet they want more
  6. CC's will be a bit higher. It maters not for me I am only doing one per year. I also have no time frame so it will be done some day..... Maybe... If I live long enough.... or still have any money..... or can remember where I keep them ?
  7. Ya I though you would get a kick out of that. The last four Morgan's may end up being that way to get the right price and then send them out if need be. I do have a bit of raw coins. I just cant justify using them in the registry sets not enough of a price buffer to be worth it.
  8. I have been shopping hard but I am just not finding the coin in my price range. I almost bought a raw 1891 off the rack at the local coin shop. After looking at all the hairline scratches it was a no. So I am still on the hunt.
  9. Yes when they hit the shoot and pile on top of each other at the mint that is all it takes most of the time to mark them up. The rim on a new nickel is like a knife.
  10. It looks like the 2023 Nickels have finally made it to the North East. I have been checking for a while but no new rolls until yesterday. Now it will be fun to try to find any without bag marks everywhere. Also it may be nothing but new coins in rolls for a while. From what I have seen so far it looks like a poor strike on the last three rolls with steps that will not last long in the wild. This was one of the best I have found so far.
  11. Welcome, A coin in a bezel will not always be easy to remove without having some marks left behind. Sorry to say.
  12. This is a nickel I found in a bank roll while hunting. It is a 2000 on one side and a 2001 on the other. Same Idea as your 1941 cent.
  13. I agree , spending time with family in my opinion is priceless.
  14. If you crack it It will never grade the same again
  15. I just took a look at the NGC Verification site and I could zoom right in on it. .As I said earlier it may have had a light cleaning at some point and may have even been overlooked but I still think it is a accurate assessment of this coin. The scratches are not all going in one direction like a rub would, they are very random. Lots of them but still if you can get it for a song then that's cool.
  16. I think it looks normal. On many Morgan's in the 25 to 35 range you will see many fine scratches and they are mostly from circulation. I am not saying it has never been cleaned a lot can happen in a 143 years just that for what it is it looks ok to me.
  17. It looks like it was sand or bead blasted to me the effect is everywhere.
  18. Welcome...I agree with Greenstang and Sandon . The 1983 zinc cents and on are full of imperfections, but these are not errors most of the time. The more you search the more you will see them.
  19. Welcome to the forum.. I agree the 7 looks like displaced metal and while the reverse is questionable the coin itself has too much damage to be worth more than a cent. Maybe a coin to save as a curiosity but that is all .
  20. Well the bad guys are getting good at doing slabs so if I can slow them down buy not giving them stuff to work with I feel better.
  21. Here are two nice PF 68 coins for the set also
  22. Here are two nice 66 6FS coins I got this week for the set.
  23. I agree with JT2 and Idhair. it has very dramatic Machine doubling going on, and no rpm sorry.
  24. You are welcome to use that ANA coin if you like Kurt I know it is from ATS. I tried for a NGC but beggars cant be choosers and at that price I could not pass on it.
