  1. I have seen that same mark many times on coins. I agree it looks to big to be from a reed edge but it may have distorted over time.
  2. Like many Silver Eagles one day show a milk spot. Perhaps this mark did not show up until recently .
  3. I never really thought about it . My dad collected some Morgan's random silver, and war nickels I guess it made a lasting impression to a four year old. Now I just have more of what he had.
  4. When I buy a upgrade I will give the old coin to a family member in hopes it may spark a interest in coins.
  5. I agree that the coins get most of there marks from the bin dump at first. But I find it hard to believe that in a bag full of coins there are no coins that end up turned sideways inside the bag?
  6. I have also seen many a security guard tossing bank bags 3 or 4 feet into the backs of armored trucks. That would be a hard hit and I think that has been going on for years.
  7. Welcome, Greenstang is correct most coins that look like a DD are not. Perhaps you could show a few close up's of what you think is double on this cent ?
  8. Yes but your coin is a 1973 . I wish you luck it would be a unicorn for sure.
  9. 11.30 for clad coins add a bit for silver plating ? 12.50 for silver half's. 73 would be a odd year to have silver planchets running around 1976 maybe I could see.
  10. Those are not the images of the coins that were up when I commented last? I agree with Idhair they look plated.
  11. Toned coins can hide a multitude of sins. Therefore there is a greater chance the coin could get a higher grade than it had before the camouflage.
  12. Welcome to the forum. Some coins do not show a clear copper edge. If you have a scale to weigh the coins it will tell more.
  13. Very nice, I look for old coin holders whenever I go hunting the shops. The nice ones are hard to find. Lots of broken bindings mostly.
  14. Welcome to the forum, I agree with the other members it looks more like a stain or glue than a error. https://www.error-ref.com/asymmetrical-split-die/
  15. That's what happens when you take those proofs out of there case, they just fall apart
  16. So far every 39 S I have found shows a 38 or 40 reverse when you look it up buy the registration number and in past sales at GC there are no plane old MS 39 S that I have found , YET
  17. So this could be fun. I know what a 38 and 40 reverse look like so a 39 S has a 39 Reverse ? and what would that look like ?................. Maybe the steps are painted
  18. I also saw the change in the count Lem and did not go looking for it yet, you saved me some steps THANKS. So now the hard question ( How Much and How Many ) are out there.????
  19. Yes Sandon I did know that. I should have been a bit more specific.
  20. Nothing but a normal looking Cent no errors. A no mint mark cent is a Philadelphia mint coin, except in 2017 it has a P
