  1. It is road kill, Damaged . Ungradable................... Spend it
  2. It is the first one we have seen in a while. Thanks Modwriter
  3. A 1964 SP is a very rare coin. A truly uncirculated coin PCGS has graded 12 and NGC has graded 14
  4. I am more than happy to help anyone if I can. I have a few Nickels funnylady444 and finding a full step nickel from the 60's is not a easy task. This is one of my nicer Nickels from 1961 and it is not FS.
  5. Neo said, Can we see the obverse of the coin? I have seen the other side of this coin and it looks like coin and the devices are all flattened out and stretched. Kind of like a flat metal press table would do to it .
  6. Yes I get the hometown treatment. They are always pleasant and save old coins and Ike dollars for me. Even when I bring in coin rolls to swap for ones I have not looked at yet. The girls are always amazed that I can reroll them to look almost the same as when I picked them up the week before.
  7. Ya know what...............You are wrong.............Again....... The members here are more than happy to help a new collector with there coins. Sandon and Coinbuf have been around coins along time and they have looked at your coins and given you there honest advice.
  8. I agree with Sandon. Maybe if it was a Henning's date nickel or something odd but regular change is not worth the effort.
  9. This on the other hand disturbs me greatly. One for admitting you are new at this, but two for the coin you posted in this thread not knowing what it really was. Badly damaged. That tells me you advertised a bunch of junk like this and make a bunch of money off of uneducated buyers as uneducated as yourself. Many of whom will eventually find out their coin is damaged and worth face value. This is what is ruining the hobby. it is unethical. It sadly happens all the time. Maybe Jake got lucky and found a true error coin. I could never sell a coin on the fact that it may be a error. I worked in construction if something was wrong It would be fixed even if it cost me money. Truth, Honesty and Ethics are a big part of life for me. Yes I would also.
  10. I thought you would like this one Kurt for $4700.00
  11. Jake 7419 ....I have been looking for errors and variety's in the wild since 1963.( Dang that is 60 years ) I still roll hunt when I have free time at night and I post the finds in my Cherry Picker Post if it is worthy. However. Errors are very rare. I think I have found one in the last 5 years and maybe around 4 variety's. So it is not something that will pay the piper even if one comes your way. It would have to be something outstanding to be a collectable. .As long as you realize it is for fun and education I see no problem in searching for odd coins as part of your overall numismatic journey. Feel free to post here if you have something strange you need answers on. The members are here very knowledgeable and will tell you there honest opinions. Sometimes with a bit of humor added in to the mix.
  12. I had a bad regular strike one once and I got a replacement. So I tried some things on the spotted Eagle. I know for a fact that a ASE Milk spot will not change even after a good long relaxing easy dip in the tub.
  13. It may not be a milk spot but something that stuck to the coin and over years humidity off and on can create a spot
  14. It may still go a lot higher. I bid every Sunday and most of the time the last 1/2 hour is crazy bidding.
  15. I guess NGC wanted you to see there label first then the coin. I wish there was a nice Cent in the batch.
  16. When you say a roll of 20 do you mean a plastic tube ? and why the black marks
  17. I think what it means is the leftover slag or scissel from cutting the planchets was used again. I wonder if it was weighed and subtracted from the original? that would change the totals a bit.
  18. I have a few older mint and proof sets and they are still worth.... not much. I just don't think they will gain in my lifetime. Or what's left of it. I do have to say that I do not see as many proof sets in shops any more.
  19. I am a big supporter GC Ian. I also browsed around the site and found it to be to much like the Facebook sites I never use. I agree with some of the others this NGC type of site works much easier for me.
  20. Welcome back Conder . It will be good to hear your comments and your knowledge once again.
